Abstract

This study uses quantitative methods to examine the effect of work-life balance and work environment on job satisfaction, with employee engagement as an intervening variable among mall employees in West Jakarta. Using the SmartPLS program version 4.0, this study tested the validity, reliability, and causal relationships between variables. The results showed that work-life balance and work environment significantly influence job satisfaction, with employee engagement as a mediating variable. Good work-life balance, low work pressure, job stability, and a comfortable and supportive work environment increase job satisfaction. High employee engagement also contributes positively to job satisfaction, although it weakens the effect of work-life balance. This study concludes that mall management needs to maintain a work-life balance, a good work environment, and enhance employee engagement to achieve optimal job satisfaction. Additionally, survey data indicate that job satisfaction among employees is still relatively low, due to suboptimal work-life balance, work environment, and employee engagement. Improving job satisfaction depends not only on employees but also on various factors within the company. This study provides additional insights into employee engagement as an intervening variable in the impact of work-life balance and work environment on job satisfaction. Keywords: Work-Life Balance, Work Environment, Job Satisfaction, Employee Engagement

Abstract

Indonesia's economic growth has demonstrated quite impressive achievements in recent years due to the support from the banking sector in stimulating the economy. However, the high performance of the national banking has not been aligned by the Regional Development Banks' (BPD) performances. Thus, this study was conducted to investigate variables that affect BPD performance, such as intellectual capital and income diversification. This study also tested the moderating effect of income diversification between intellectual capital on bank performance. This study used panel data containing financial reports for 23 BPDs in Indonesia. We took annual data from the Financial Services Authority of the Republic of Indonesia with an observation period for the last 16 years (2008-2023). The results of this study show that intellectual capital & income diversification have a positive and significant effect on bank performance. Finally, for testing the moderation effect, this study shows that income diversification provides a moderation effect that can significantly weaken the influence of intellectual capital on bank performance. Keywords: Bank performance, Intellectual capital, Income diversification.

Abstract

This research evaluates the job analysis practices at the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora). Findings reveal that the current job analysis is not optimal due to incomplete exploration of the Ministry's mandated tasks, leading to unclear mapping of responsibilities and a lack of adherence to the PermenpanRB No. 1 of 2020 guidelines. Data collection, primarily executed by an internal team using templated methods, raises concerns about information validity and reliability. Three main agents provide job analysis information: the jobholder, their superior, and the job analyst. A challenge identified is the limited comprehension of organizational strategy and job functions among jobholders and superiors, combined with the inadequate competency of job analysts. Additionally, the research found that the data's validity and reliability are compromised due to insufficient verification processes. As a remedy, a four-stage job analysis model is proposed, encompassing preparation, data collection, data processing, and result distribution, aiming for more accurate and comprehensive job analyses. Keywords: Job Analysis, Model, the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Abstract

Bank performance in the last 10 years has improved marked by an increase in loan growth but followed by a declining trend in profitability. Out of 47 banks, 28 were selected as samples using purposive sampling—data analysis techniques using IBM SPS Amos 24.0 software. From the results of data analysis, the results show that loan growth has a positive and insignificant effect on return on assets, loan to assets has a negative and insignificant effect on return on assets, size has a positive and significant effect on return on assets, loan growth and size have a positive and negligible effect on non-performing loans and loan to assets has a significant negative effect on non-performing loans. The results of mediation testing using the Sobel test, the results show that non-performing loans can provide a partial mediating role in the relationship between loan to assets and return on assets, but non-performing loans cannot act as mediation of the relationship between loan growth and size to the return on assets.

Abstract

Based on the mitigation method, insurance is divided into conventional insurance and sharia insurance. In sharia insurance, the principle of risksharing is applied. In the concept of risksharing, all participants are obliged to pay contributions to the insurance manager. This contribution consists of three elements, namely ujrah, tabarru, and tijarah. Life insurance product xxx is a discrete n-year term life insurance that includes tijarah elements in the unit link. Life insurance product xxx has three elements of contribution, namely ujrah, tabarru, and tijarah. The ujrah fund has been determined by the insurance manager and is explained in detail in the policy agreement. The tijarah fund depends on the investment level assumption chosen by the prospective insurance participant. In addition to these two elements, the insurance manager must calculate tabarru to pay the insurance participant's claim. In this study, an estimate will be made for the gross contribution of the tabarru fund. To estimate the gross contribution of tabarru funds, the Cost of Insurance (COI) method is used which involves the variable ?? (the probability of death of a person aged ? years obtained from the mortality table), discount factor, and assumptions of management fees. The Gompertz mortality law approach is used to refine the mortality table. The results are in the form of a table of gross contributions of tabarru funds for prospective male and female participants with an assumption of insurance compensation of Rp. 250,000,000 for the age range of 1-111 years with nine combinations of three investment return assumptions and three management fees that can be chosen by prospective insurance participants. Keywords: sharia insurance, contribution, COI

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the variables that would affect East Java Province's Regency / City inclusive economic development index between 2017 and 2021. This study employed a descriptive quantitative research design. The Fixed Effect Model (FEM) was chosen as the suitable model for this research's panel data regression analysis, which was conducted using the Eviews 13 analytic tool. The results showed that the variable level of employment opportunities, good condition roads, residents who have health insurance and decent drinking water sources had a significant effect on the inclusive economic growth index. Meanwhile, the gini ratio and poor population variables do not have a significant effect on the inclusive economic growth index. These findings indicate that the indicators in Pillar 2 of Income Equality and Poverty Reduction are not sufficient to influence the East Java Province's districts' and cities' inclusive economic growth index. Keywords: Inclusive Economic Growth Index, Employment Opportunities, Roads in Good Condition, Gini Ratio, Population with Health Insurance, Adequate Drinking Water Sources.
