Abstract

This article discusses the reconstruction of ontology, epistemology, and axiology as the philosophical foundation for the development of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the Society 5.0 era. This era is characterized by the integration of digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and big data in human life, requiring Islamic education to undergo a philosophical transformation. Through a literature review and philosophical analysis approach, this article asserts that ontological reconstruction places humans as multidimensional beings serving as both servants of God and stewards of the earth. The epistemology of Islamic education in this era integrates revelation, reason, and digital data, while its axiology aims to form the perfect human being (insan kamil) with noble character, critical thinking, and adaptability to technological change. The implication is that Islamic Religious Education should be developed through an integrative-holistic model, Islamic-based technology, and character-oriented spirituality. This study proposes a transcendental-progressive paradigm of Islamic education that upholds divine values while advancing technological mastery for the benefit of humanity.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze the characteristics of Islamic education in Brunei Darussalam, which is grounded in the philosophy of Melayu Islam Beraja (MIB), and to compare it with Islamic education in Indonesia, which is multicultural and democratic in nature. This research employed a qualitative approach based on a literature review by examining documents, regulations, books, and relevant studies. The findings indicate that MIB serves as a strong ideological framework shaping the curriculum, educational vision, and learning practices in Brunei, resulting in a homogeneous, coherent, and Islamic monarchy–oriented education system. Conversely, the Islamic education system in Indonesia has developed within a context of cultural diversity, decentralized regulations, and more complex social dynamics. The comparison reveals that Brunei excels in the consistency of its educational ideology, whereas Indonesia is more adaptive, inclusive, and responsive to global changes. This study contributes to understanding models of Islamic education development based on state philosophy and offers insights for advancing Islamic education policy in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of tempering temperature variations on the hardness of AISI 4340 steel after undergoing a quenching process. AISI 4340 is a high-strength low-alloy steel widely used in manufacturing industries, making the control of its mechanical properties through heat treatment crucial. In this study, the steel specimens were initially heated to 800°C and rapidly cooled (quenched) in water. Subsequently, the specimens were subjected to tempering at three different temperatures—200°C, 400°C, and 600°C—with a holding time of 60 minutes. The mechanical properties were evaluated using the Rockwell hardness test (HRC scale) with three measurement points on each specimen. The results indicate that variations in tempering temperature significantly affect the hardness of the steel. Tempering at 200°C produced the highest hardness value of 22.00 HRC due to the presence of tempered martensite with fine carbide precipitation. At 400°C, the hardness decreased to 15.90 HRC, attributed to the transformation of martensite into ferrite and fine cementite (troostite). Meanwhile, tempering at 600°C resulted in a hardness value of 17.80 HRC, characterized by a more stable and ductile sorbite structure. Overall, the findings show that increasing tempering temperature generally decreases hardness while enhancing the ductility of AISI 4340 steel.
