Abstract

Indonesia, as an archipelagic nation, holds significant potential for the development of freshwater commodities, particularly catfish. Catfish farming is feasible in limited spaces but is susceptible to various diseases, resulting in substantial losses for farmers. This study aims to develop an expert system based on the forward chaining method, designed to diagnose catfish diseases according to observed symptoms and provide treatment solutions without requiring direct expert consultation. A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through literature reviews and expert interviews. The developed expert system was implemented using MATLAB to generate accurate diagnoses and treatment recommendations. The results show that the system can accurately recognize different types of catfish diseases based on the symptoms provided. It also gives suitable treatment options, helping farmers learn about the disease, its symptoms, and the right ways to treat it. This makes farming more efficient and reduces the damage caused by diseases.

Abstract

This study discusses Islamic epistemology with a focus on the integration between revelation and rationality in the construction of knowledge. The main objective of this research is to examine the position of the Qur’an as the primary (primordial) source within the Islamic epistemological system, the role of Hadith as its explanatory component, and how their methodological integration forms a holistic and non-dichotomous structure of knowledge. This research employs a qualitative approach through a literature review, analyzing both classical and contemporary works such as those of Al-Ghazali, Imam al-Shafi‘i, M. Abid al-Jabiri, Fazlur Rahman, and Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas. The findings indicate that the Qur’an possesses the highest epistemological authority as the ultimate source of truth, while Hadith functions as a practical interpretation that actualizes the Qur’anic values in daily life. Epistemological integration requires a methodological hierarchy in which revelation serves as the central axis, and reason acts as an instrument for contextual understanding and conceptualization. Knowledge in Islam is not dichotomous, as in Western traditions, but rather integrates the spiritual and rational, ethical and empirical dimensions. In conclusion, Islamic epistemology constructs a holistic knowledge system grounded in revelation as the source of values and truth, with reason as a tool for interpretation. This model enables the development of knowledge that is spiritually meaningful, socially relevant, and firmly rooted in divine values.

Abstract

Students who live away from home or are separated from their parents often face difficulties in self-control. The contributing factors include themselves, their living environment (boarding houses), academic surroundings, social interactions, peer groups, and religiosity, which can also influence self-control. Students who lack religious guidance and direction in their lives may experience behaviors that deviate from religious teachings, leading to actions that are prohibited by their religion. The purpose of this study is to provide factual data to demonstrate the influence of religiosity on self-control among out-of-town students in Pontianak. The research method used is quantitative, with purposive sampling as the sampling technique. The subjects of this study consisted of 100 out-of-town students in Pontianak. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression analysis with the IBM SPSS Statistics v.25 program. The results showed a regression coefficient of 0.030 with a significance value of 0.03<0.05, indicating a positive influence on self-control. Religiosity contributes 7.9% effectively to self-control, while the remaining 92.1% is influenced by other factors not explored in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategy for disseminating government websites by the Communication and Information Service in Solok City. The research type is a qualitative descriptive approach. The type of source used is primary data sources. This researcher used data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants used in the study were 13 people. The results show that the Communication and Information Service of Solok City utilizes its official website as the primary medium to convey information to the public quickly, transparently, and accessible at any time. This is in line with the spirit of public information transparency and the digitalization of government services. The information dissemination strategy implemented by the Communication and Information Service of Solok City through the official government website has been quite effective in conveying public information. However, it still needs to be strengthened in terms of human resources, collaboration between regional government agencies (OPD), and promotional efforts so that the website becomes the primary source of information accessed by the public. The public generally responded positively to the existence of the official website. However, the level of visits is still not optimal because some people are more active on social media than accessing the website.

Abstract

This study explores Islamic parenting patterns as a wise and purposeful approach to nurturing children’s emotional intelligence (EI), all under the gentle guidance of Islamic psychology. In today’s fast-paced modern life, children often struggle with feelings such as anxiety or difficulty in self-regulation, highlighting the growing importance of parenting methods that align with the core values and faith of Islam. The heart of this discussion is to explain how the timeless teachings of Islam rooted in the Qur’an, the Prophet’s sayings, and his lived example play a role in shaping emotional intelligence (EI), focusing on key aspects such as self-awareness, emotional regulation, intrinsic motivation, empathy, and social adaptability. Using a qualitative and in-depth approach, this work integrates insights from Islamic scriptures and psychological thought, along with open conversations with 25 devoted Muslim parents and child experts in Indonesia. The data were analyzed through careful thematic exploration to reveal everyday parenting practices that harmonize with the profound truths of Islam. The findings show that this parenting style characterized by rahmah (gentle compassion), tarbiyah (moral nurturing with tenderness), and tawazun (balance between firm guidance and warm affection) significantly enhances EI by fostering a spiritual pathway for managing difficult emotions. Children raised under these principles exhibit genuine resilience, deep empathy for others, and stronger social connections. These qualities were drawn directly from parents’ accounts of fewer emotional outbursts, smoother school days, and more harmonious relationships overall. Ultimately, this research illustrates how Islamic psychology meaningfully supports holistic child development both physically and spiritually and encourages the integration of these ideas into counseling frameworks for Muslim families.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology, particularly the internet, has influenced various aspects of human life, including education and entertainment. One of the most popular forms of entertainment today is online gaming, which has gained significant interest among students. This study aims to analyze the impact of online gaming on the emotional mental condition and academic achievement of students at MA Nurul Iman Montong Baik. This research employed a descriptive quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 69 students, with a sample of 30 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, and then analyzed using descriptive statistics with SPSS software. The results indicate that online games have a negative effect on students’ emotional mental conditions, where excessive playing intensity causes anxiety, irritability, and decreased learning concentration. However, the correlation test showed no significant relationship between the intensity of online gaming and students’ academic achievement (r = 0.099; p = 0.603). Thus, it can be concluded that online gaming affects psychological aspects more strongly than academic aspects. Therefore, the role of teachers and parents is crucial in supervising and guiding students to use online games wisely and in moderation.

Abstract

Corn is one of the most important food crops in Indonesia, but it is highly susceptible to various diseases that can significantly reduce yield. Diagnosing corn diseases typically requires agricultural experts, whose availability is often limited in rural areas. This research aims to develop an expert system to diagnose corn diseases using the Forward Chaining method. The system was built using PHP and MySQL with the CodeIgniter framework. The methodology included requirement analysis, system design using Unified Modeling Language (UML), implementation, and testing. The knowledge base was obtained from agricultural experts and existing literature, consisting of symptoms, diseases, and their corresponding solutions. Forward Chaining was applied to match user-selected symptoms with predefined rules to produce a diagnosis. The test results indicate that the system can accurately diagnose diseases based on the rules, helping farmers identify problems early and providing recommended solutions without requiring direct expert assistance. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of expert systems in agricultural disease management and offers a potential solution for farmers facing limited access to agricultural experts.
