abdasastra : Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Jawa (Sabdasastra : Journal of Javanese Language Education) is an open-access journal published by Department of Javanese Language Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sebelas Maret. The first issue of 2017 Volume 1 No 1 has ten articles. Sabdasastra has two issues in a year and it will be published in March and September. The focus and scope of this journal are language education, literature, philology, linguistics, culture, and local wisdom in Java.

Abstract

In the process of analyzing prose narratives such as novels, they often encounter difficulties due to relatively less interest in reading and the time spent reading is longer and boring. In order to overcome these difficulties, a critical discourse analysis strategy is used to assist in understanding literary works. The research method in this research is descriptive qualitative research that uses a critical discourse analysis approach to the Teun A. Van Dijk model. This study uses one level of critical discourse analysis of the Teun A. Van Dijk model, namely the micro (rhetorical) structure. The source of the data used in this research is a document, namely the novel Begjane Rustam by Pak Met. The purpose of this study is to describe the microstructure of the rhetorical aspects contained in Pak Met's Begjane Rustam novel. The results show that Begjane Rustam's novel contains three rhetorical aspects, namely 1) graphic elements are shown in the use of italics and bold print, 2) metaphorical elements are shown in the use of figurative language (majas), and 3) expression elements are shown in the depiction of character expressions. directly by the author. It can be concluded that Pak Met's Begjane Rustam novel includes three rhetorical aspects (microstructure) namely graphics, metaphors, and expressions.

Abstract

This research is aimed to describe: (1) The dynamics of personality in the Rembulan Wungu ketoprakscript by Bondan Nusantara; (2) The value of education in Rembulan Wungu ketoprakscript by Bondan Nusantara; and (3) The relevance of Rembulan Wungu ketoprakscript by Bondan Nusantara towards the teaching material of exposition text in Senior High School grade XI. This research is a descriptive qualitative research which used literature psychological approach. The sample was taken using purposive sampling technique. The data obtained from the Rembulan Wungu ketoprakscript by Bondan Nusantara, interviews with authors, literary experts especially ketoprak, people who are competent in psychology, Javanese language teachers, and students. Validity of data obtained through triangulation of theories, is doing the same topic research then researchers compare the documents or theory related to the object of the research. Data analysis technique used is flow analysis which includes three components, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this research are: (1) The personality dynamics of characters in the Rembulan Wungu ketoprakscript by Bondan Nusantara are: (a) instinct, and (b) anxiety, The education values contained in the Rembulan Wungu ketoprakscript are religious, moral, social , and culture, from those four values social values are the most dominant values; and (3) The relevance of the Rembulan Wungu ketoprakscript by Bondan Nusantara enables and can be used as teaching material for exposition of Javanese performing arts in Senior High School, this can be seen in terms of content, language, and the education values contained in it.

Abstract

This research that using pragmatic approach has a purpose to describe the function of directive speech act of Glanggang Remaja: Wacan Bocah rubric. Data analysis technique that used in this study is qualitative inductive analysis technique, through analyzing the directive speech act in accordance to the plot distribution in the narrative discource. The classification of directive speech act in this study refers to Searle's opinion that customized with the plot distribution that proposed by Kosasih. The object that used in this study is narrative discourse of Glanggang Remaja: Wacan Bocah rubric in Panjebar Semangat magazine October – November 2020 edition. The result that obtained from this study are. First, sentence form and function in narrative discourse of Glanggang Remaja: Wacan Bocah rubric that are ask, beg, bid, command, demand, forbid, recommend, and request. Second, based on plot distribution, this study found the use of directive speech act on exposition, complication, rising action, turning point, and ending.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi makna filosofis yang ada dalam tradisi Dhawuhan di desa Warujanggan dan relevansinya sebagai materi ajar di SMP pada kompetensi dasar menelaah teks deskriptif tentang upacara adat daerah sesuai dengan karakteristik. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah data kualitatif berupa wawancara. Teknik sampling yang yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tiga teknik, yaitu dokumentasi, wawancara, dan observasi. Teknik yang digunakan untuk uji validitas adalah triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teori. Analisis data menggunakan model analisis etnografi model Spradley. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: (1) wujud makna filosofis tradisi Dhawuhan di desa Warujanggan berdasarkan rangkaian kegiatan memiliki 5 makna filosofis; (2) wujud sesaji pada tradisi Dhawuhan di desa Warujanggan memiliki 12 makna filosofis; (3) tradisi Dhawuhan di desa Warujanggan memiliki relevansi sebagai materi ajar di SMP karena memiliki empat aspek, diantaranya: aspek ketuhanan, aspek sosial, aspek kognitif, dan aspek keterampilan. Hasil dari penelitian ini setidaknya memberikan referensi bagi guru untuk mengajarkan tradisi di daerah sendiri dan mampu memotivasi siswa untuk lebih giat belajar mengingat mereka belajar secara langsung ketika tradisi tersebut dilaksanakan.

Abstract

Cerkak merupakan salah satu materi ajar di SMA, namun dalam pemilihan cerkak tidak bisa sembarangan. Cerkak yang digunakan harus mengandung nilai-nilai pendidikan di dalamnya. Guna mengentahui apakah suatu cerkak mengandung nilai-nilai pendidikan maka perlu adanya penelitian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam crita cekak Wacan Bocah dalam rubrik Gelanggang Remaja majalah Panjebar Semangat terbitan tahun 2019. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa analisis dokumen. Objek yang dikaji berupa crita cekak Wacan Bocah dalam rubrik Gelanggang Remaja majalah Panjebar Semangat yang terbit selama tahun 2019 dan telah dipilih sesuai dengan tema kehidupan sehari-hari. Berdasarkan analisis data ditemukan nilai-nilai yang terdapat pada crita cekak Wacan Bocah antara lain Bersahabat/Komunikasi, rasa ingin tahu , peduli sosial, menghargai prestasi, jujur, tanggung jawab, semangat kebangsaan, cinta damai, religious dan kreatif. Nilai-nilai tersebut tergolong pada nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam kurikulum 2013 sehingga cerkak tersebut dapat digunakan sebagai bahan ajar di sekolah.

Abstract

Politeness principles violations still present in movies, including short comedy movies in Lula Studio Youtube channel. It becomes a concern as such violations may serve as a model for people who watch the movies. Therefore, the present study attempted to depict the forms of politeness principle violation in short comedy movies in Lula Studio and provided a reference to minimize further language impoliteness. To this end, a descriptive qualitative with pragmatic approach was applied. The data in this study were speech among the movie actors, collected through document analysis and researchers’ note. The movie samples were selected using the purposive sampling technique. Theory triangulation was applied to ensure the data validity. The data were analyzed using flow analysis technique. Twenty one violations were noticed from seven movies in Lula studio, which covers Leech’s six language politeness maxims and Asim Gunawan’s four language politeness maxims.

Abstract

This research aimed to study structural element and social conflicts existing in Wayang Orang Balai Sigala-gala video and to find out whether or not it was relevance to be used as the teaching materials of Javanese language learning in the Senior High School. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with content analysis type of research by exploring structural elements and social conflicts in Wayang Orang Balai Sigala-gala and its relevance to be learning media. The information source used included reference book, video, informant as informant of interview. Techniques of collecting data used were Library Research as well as in-depth interview with data validation test using data source triangulation in which the author incorporated data obtained from interview of informant and the data obtained from reference study ad content analysis on the research object. The result of the research showed that Wayang Orang Balai Sigala-gala had complete structural elements, just like the constructive element existing in prose genre generally. The social conflict study conducted indicated that Wayang Orang Balai Sigala-gala had social conflict constituting the reflection in current social condition on society to be analyzed easily by the studied in the Senior High Schools. The consistency of conflict existing in Wayang Orang Balai Sigala-gala with the social condition made this video relevant to be a teaching materials into Javanese Language learning. Considering the result of research, it could be concluded that Wayang Orang Balai Sigala-gala was relevant to be teaching materials to Javanese Language Learning in the Senior High Schools.

Abstract

The aims of this research was to identify the language politeness on short story in Crita Taman Putra rubric of Jaya Baya magazine as subject matters of Javanese in Junior High School at writing dialog involving parent’s basic competence. The result of this research concluded as follows: (1) the being maxim of language politeness of short story in Crita Taman Putra rubric of Jaya Baya magazine covering six maxims such as used maxim of wisdom, maxim of generosity, maxim of appreciation, maxim of simplicity, maxim of consensuality, and maxim of sympathy; (2) the background of the language politeness behaviour that was used in short story in Crita Taman Putra rubric of Jaya Baya magazine caused by four factors. Those were respect older people, respect people in the same age, teach and respect younger people, and match perception with other people; (3) short story in Crita Taman Putra rubric of Jaya Baya magazine relevance as subject matters with some supporting factors such as the used of language were understandable, the use of vocabulary that suitable with Javanese, and contain character education values.

Abstract

The research aimed to describe and explain the forms of speech acts expressive novel Prasetyane Wanita by Tulus Setiyadi, and the relevance of the novel Prasetyane Wanita by Tulus Setiyadi with javanese language teaching materials in senior high school. The method in this research  is a qualitative  with a content analysis approach using pragmatic theory to determine the form of expressive speech acts contained in  novel Prasetyane Wanita by Tulus Setiyadi. The data source in this research is a novel entitled Prasetyane Wanita by Tulus Setiyadi which was published by Pustaka Ilalang in August 2020. The data collection techniques used were documentation or document analysis techniques, and interviewing informants. The validity of data using theoretical triangulation and source triangulation. The data analysis technique used is interactive analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that the forms of expressive speech acts found in novel Prasetyane Wanita by Tulus Setiyadi include expressive speech acts of include 4 expressive speech acts of thanking, 5 expressive speech acts of praising,3 expressive speech acts of pardoning,4 expressive speech acts condoling, 1 expressive speech acts of congratulating, and 5 expressive speech acts of blaming. In addition, novel Prasetyane Wanita by Tulus Setiyadi is relevant if it is used as teaching material for Javanese language in high school, precisely at KD 3.2, namely "Understanding the contents of Javanese novel texts".

Abstract

Psikologi sastra merupakan sebuah pendekatan yang mengamati kejiwaan serta perilaku manusia. Dengan memusatkan pada kejiwaan serta perilaku manusia, maka akan diperoleh konflik batin yang sesuai dengan teori psikologi sastra. Dalam sebuah naskah sandiwara Jawa tentunya terdapat konflik batin antar tokoh yang dapat membangun jalan cerita dalam nakah. Naskah sandiwara Kidung Pinggir Lurung menceritakan permasalahan dalam keluarga yang menimbulkan sebuah konflik batin antar tokoh. Naskah sandiwara Kidung Pinggir Lurung merupakan naskah yang belum dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan psikologi sastra. Naskah sandiwara tersebebut mengandung aspek psikologi sastra teori psikologi Sigman Freud yaitu id, ego, dan superego. Selain itu, naskah sandiwara Kidung Pinggir Lurung juga mengandung nilai moral yang dapat diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan dapat dijadikan bahan ajar di Sekolah Menengah Pertama kelas IX. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan psikologi sastra. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu analisis dokumen dan wawancara mendalam. Data dalam penelitian ini yaitu berupa kata-kata dan kalimat yang berkaitan dengan teori psikologi sastra seperti id, ego, dan superego.
