Abstract

This study analysed the receipts, costs, and expenses received by red tilapia seed farmers, as well as the level of production risk, price risk and expenditure risk in KPI Mino Ngremboko. The basic method used in this research was a descriptive method. This research was conducted at KPI Mino Ngremboko. The selection of research locations was conducted purposively. The sampling method used was the census method. The analysis was carried out using the coefficient of variation method. Research results there were production risks, price risk, and risk of spending on red tilapia at KPI Mino Ngremboko. The sources of risk that arise were high fish seed mortality rates, increased feed prices, and limited land to increase production. Variation coefficient value (CV) of production risk, price risk, income risk were relatively low that showed the hatchery of red tilapia has a low risk. Meanwhile, the L value of price risk, production risk, and expenditure risk were positive results and the value was greater than BEP. The value shows that when the hatchery reaches the lowest point in production, price, and income, farmers still avoid losses.

Abstract

Abstract

Rimbo Donok Protected Forest covers 377,99 hectare area, located in Kepahiang District, Bengkulu Province, Indonesia. The main function of protected forest is to protect life buffer system. Therefore, the land use must be forest. In Rimbo Donok Protected Forest, there has been a change of land use from forest land to crop land. There has been tenurial conflicts in the utilization of forest area. The objective of this study was to determine the characteristics of forest farmer in Rimbo Donok protected forest area and choose to resolve tenurial conflicts. The data of uses were collected through mapping techniques, field observation, and interview. The accidental sampling technique with Slovin Formula was used to select 44 respondents. The results showed that land use of Rimbo Donok Protected Forest in 2016 is entirely crop land. All of this protected forest have been illegaly occupied by people. These people are planting coffe and other agricultural plants in the area. The average land area of head family is 1.33 ha. This conflict resolution of forest utilization should be able to accommodate the socioeconomic function and environmental protection function. Efforts to legalize the utilization of forests should be carried out under various schemes such as: community forest, village forest, or partnership. the agroforestry system can be selected as its land management system.

Abstract

Rice agribusiness in Indonesia must be competitive so that food security can be realized. Therefore, it is necessary to improve performance in each subsystem. One of the subsystems that needs to be improved is the downstream subsystem, which is processing grain (drying and rice milling). Snowball sampling technique was applied to select 60 commercial rice mills in three sub-district. Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) was used to estimate technical efficiency and to find the sources of inefficiency of the rice milling business in Cianjur Regency. The results showed that rice mills in study site was ineffecient. Factors that are affecting the technical efficiency of rice milling business in Cianjur Regency are the level of formal education, rice yield, and grain moisture content. Technical efficiency is positively corelated with the gains of rice milling business. Profits can be used for reinvestment (especially in milling machines), so that the efficiency of the rice milling business can be increased. In addition, the rice byproduct industry needs more attention to increase the benefits of the rice milling business.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify internal factors and external factors of sustainability of organic rice agribusiness, formulate alternative strategies for the sustainability of organic rice agribusiness, analyze the best strategies that can be applied in the sustainability of organic rice agribusiness. The study used Primary and Secondary Data Types. Primary Data Collection Techniques were obtained through Interviews/Questionnaires with respondents and farmer experts. The analysis technique used is the IFE and EFE matrix, to obtain an alternative strategy using SWOT, while to choose the best strategy use QSPM. The results of this study are: 1. Identification of internal factors shows that there are 23 strengths and 9 weaknesses that have been held in the sustainability of organic rice agribusiness in the Handayani farmer group. 2. From the strategic focus, four alternative strategies are obtained, namely organic rice through the optimal use of production inputs and skills owned by farmers to meet market prospects and increase demand, develop and expand the organic rice market out of the South Sumatra region through the application of internet and work technology together with the government and partners, optimizing the quality of organic rice Through proper handling and postharvest handling, and making Suka Makmur Village an organic agrotourism village. 3. The QSP matrix results show the best strategy of the four alternative S-O strategies is to optimize the quality of organic rice through proper handling and postharvest handling, this condition is seen from the Total Total Attractive Score (TAS) of 4.5406.

From sales of coconut sugar products amounted to Rp.60.183,47 per production. Which the profitability of coconut sugar products is 46%. If product performance exceeds the consumer expectations, they will feel satisfied. Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) is used to maping the relationship between importance and performance of each product attribute. The most important attributes and have good performance related to consumers is coconut sugar hygiene, taste, and food / beverages, coconut sugar color, durability, ease of accessing the product,  and coconut sugar solubility, that’s attributes need to be maintained.
