Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the economic independence of housewives through practical skills training in the production of liquid cleaning soap. The activity was conducted in Gattareng Village, Gantarang District, Bulukumba Regency, involving 24 participants. The implementation adopted the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method, emphasizing active community participation throughout the learning process. The training included theoretical sessions, interactive discussions, live demonstrations, and hands-on practice in soap making. Evaluation was carried out through pre- and post-tests to measure knowledge improvement, and a satisfaction questionnaire to assess participants’ responses. The results showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge and skills: understanding of soap-making basics rose from 20% before training to 85% after the program. Moreover, 92% of participants stated that the training was highly beneficial, and 80% expressed willingness to produce liquid soap independently at home. Beyond improving technical capacity, the program fostered entrepreneurial motivation and strengthened solidarity among PKK (Family Welfare Movement) members. Economically, the training opened up new income opportunities since liquid soap is a household necessity with stable demand, easily accessible raw materials, and a simple production process. Therefore, this training serves as an effective model of women’s empowerment based on local skills, contributing to the enhancement of self-reliance and sustainable family economic welfare.

Abstract

At SLB YPAC Dewantara, North Aceh, teachers' mastery of digital technology remains constrained in terms of the utilization of online applications and multimedia. The objective of this Community Service Program (PKM) is to enhance pedagogues' competencies through experiential learning, which is characterized by a participatory approach. The activity was conducted over the course of two days and involved 15 teachers. The materials covered the use of Zoom Meeting, Google Meet, Bitly, and the creation of simple animations using Canva and Powtoon. The evaluation results demonstrated a substantial increase in the utilization of digital tools, with the capacity to employ the fundamental functionalities of Zoom and Google Meet escalating from 27% to 87%, the application of Bitly rising from 13% to 80%, and the proficiency in generating animated media increasing from 7% to 73%. The challenges encountered by the participants included time constraints, variations in digital literacy, and internet infrastructure. This PKM fostered the establishment of an internal teacher learning community and underscored the significance of synergy among individual capacity, institutional support, and sustainable mentoring.

Abstract

The increasing number of motor vehicles is not always accompanied by compliance with traffic regulations, contributing to a high rate of traffic violations and accidents. This issue is not only related to technical and infrastructural aspects but also to social behavior and public legal awareness. This article aims to analyze efforts to improve traffic law awareness through a public communication approach implemented in a community service program in Gampong Ujong Tanoh Darat, Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency. The program employed an educational and communicative approach through legal counseling and interactive discussions. The materials covered the concept of legal awareness, the legal basis of traffic regulations, and types of violations along with sanctions. Evaluation was conducted qualitatively through direct observation and oral questioning during the activity involving 27 participants. The results indicate that the public communication approach enhanced community understanding of traffic law, reflected in an approximately ±20% upward trend in participants’ understanding, and encouraged a shift in compliance patterns from reactive behavior toward compliance based on internal legal awareness. The activity also demonstrated a change in community perceptions of the law, from a coercive set of rules to a shared guideline for maintaining traffic safety and order.

Abstract

Arabic plays a highly transcendental role in the lives of Muslims, especially ummahāt. One form of community service aimed at improving their proficiency in basic Arabic is the provision of intensive Linguaphone audio training. This training is designed to equip ummahāt with the ability to master basic Arabic skills. The methods employed include lectures, listening activities, practice, and feedback. Data were collected through observation and interviews conducted via Google Forms. The research subjects consisted of 10 ummahāt who participated in a basic-level training program for one month, from 22 September to 20 October 2025. The results of the training indicate that: (1) Linguaphone audio serves as the primary learning tool for ummahāt in understanding the learning materials, such as correct pronunciation of hijaiyah letters, vocabulary, expressions, and dialogues; (2) Linguaphone audio is an efficient learning medium in terms of time, energy, and cost; and (3) ummahāt greatly benefited from the basic Arabic language training program using Linguaphone audio, particularly those who had never participated in a tahsin program and were beginner learners of Arabic.

Abstract

Environmental degradation, particularly caused by plastic waste, remains a global issue that requires comprehensive management and the involvement of various stakeholders. One effective approach is the provision of environmental education from an early age through innovative and engaging methods. This community service activity aimed to foster environmental awareness and enhance children’s creativity through ecoprint training using the pounding technique at SDN 01 Percontohan, West Aceh. The activity consisted of socialization, hands-on training, and evaluation using pretests and posttests, involving 40 fifth-grade students. The results showed an increase in students’ knowledge of environmental conservation as well as their ability to create artwork from natural materials. The students successfully produced tote bags with unique ecoprint motifs, which contributed to the improvement of their motor skills and their sense of responsibility toward the environment. Overall, ecoprint training proved effective in enhancing students’ environmental awareness and creativity. The success of this program has encouraged the expansion of similar activities to other schools to help develop a generation that is more environmentally conscious.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out at Madrasah Ulumul Qur’an with the aim of providing students with an understanding of the importance of preventing bullying and sexual harassment. The materials presented covered the basic concepts of bullying and sexual harassment, their causes, and the impact on victims and the educational environment. The results of the activity showed that the students were able to understand how to prevent bullying and sexual harassment. Prevention efforts are crucial and were promoted through legal literacy and socialization during this activity to help reduce the number of bullying and sexual harassment cases in educational settings. The activity was conducted through presentations and discussions, accompanied by case studies and problem-solving strategies related to bullying and sexual harassment experienced by madrasah students. This initiative is expected to serve as an initial step in fostering awareness among students to enhance their understanding of bullying and sexual harassment, as well as the values of Islamic teachings in daily life.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, dapat ditarik beberapa kesimpulan sebagai berikut. Pertama, banjir bandang yang melanda Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang pada 26 November 2025 menyebabkan krisis air bersih yang parah di Desa Seuneubok Cantek, ditandai dengan tercemarnya sumur-sumur warga oleh lumpur dan material banjir sehingga tidak lagi layak digunakan untuk keperluan sehari-hari. Kedua, program pengadaan dan distribusi dua unit tangki air bersih yang dilaksanakan tim pengabdian Universitas Samudra terbukti efektif dalam memenuhi kebutuhan dasar masyarakat dalam jangka pendek, memperbaiki kondisi sanitasi, mengurangi risiko penyakit berbasis air, serta mendapatkan respons positif dari warga dan aparatur desa. Ketiga, kegiatan pengabdian ini memberikan dampak positif yang nyata terhadap peningkatan kualitas hidup masyarakat terdampak pada masa tanggap darurat, sekaligus menegaskan peran penting perguruan tinggi dalam berkontribusi pada penanganan bencana melalui implementasi Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. Berdasarkan temuan kegiatan, disampaikan beberapa saran. Bagi pemerintah daerah Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang, perlu segera dibangun sistem penyediaan air bersih darurat yang berkelanjutan dan menjangkau seluruh wilayah terdampak, tidak terbatas pada wilayah yang mudah diakses saja. Bagi masyarakat, diharapkan kesadaran kolektif untuk menjaga kebersihan lingkungan dan sumber air tetap terpelihara, terutama sebagai upaya kesiapsiagaan menghadapi kemungkinan bencana serupa di masa mendatang. Bagi kegiatan pengabdian selanjutnya, perlu dirancang program lanjutan yang bersifat jangka panjang, seperti pembangunan sarana air bersih permanen (sumur bor), pelatihan pengelolaan air bersih berbasis komunitas, dan edukasi kesehatan lingkungan.

Abstract

Bencana banjir dan tanah bergerak yang terjadi di Kampung Waq Toweren pada tahun 2025 menimbulkan dampak serius terhadap lingkungan, sosial, dan ekonomi masyarakat. Kerusakan infrastruktur, keterbatasan akses air bersih, penurunan produktivitas ekonomi, serta dampak psikososial menjadi permasalahan utama yang dihadapi masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan ketahanan masyarakat melalui pendekatan pemberdayaan berbasis kearifan lokal “sumang”. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif berbasis Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) dengan tahapan sosialisasi, pelatihan, penerapan teknologi, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan, antara lain tersedianya akses air bersih bagi lebih dari 85% masyarakat, terbentuknya Kampung Siaga Bencana, peningkatan pemahaman mitigasi hingga 80%, serta rehabilitasi lingkungan melalui penanaman ±500 pohon. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan lingkungan dan kesiapsiagaan bencana. Program ini membuktikan bahwa integrasi teknologi tepat guna dan kearifan lokal mampu meningkatkan keberdayaan masyarakat secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi telah memberikan kemudahan dalam komunikasi digital, namun di sisi lain juga memunculkan berbagai permasalahan, salah satunya cyberbullying. Perundungan siber menjadi ancaman serius bagi peserta didik karena dapat menimbulkan dampak psikologis, sosial, dan akademik, serta berpotensi menimbulkan konsekuensi hukum. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi hukum digital peserta didik dalam mencegah cyberbullying melalui pendekatan integratif antara hukum positif Indonesia dan nilai-nilai Al-Qur'an. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 19 November 2024 di MTsS Ruhul Qurani dan MAS Ruhul Qurani, Kabupaten Aceh Barat, dengan melibatkan 100 peserta didik. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan edukatif, partisipatif, dan persuasif melalui penyuluhan hukum, brainstorming, diskusi interaktif, dan evaluasi berbasis observasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta mengenai bentuk-bentuk cyberbullying, dampak yang ditimbulkan, serta konsekuensi hukumnya berdasarkan Pasal 27A dan Pasal 45 ayat (4) Undang-Undang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik. Pemahaman tersebut terlihat dari respons peserta dalam sesi tanya jawab dan evaluasi akhir kegiatan. Selain itu, peserta juga memahami relevansi nilai-nilai Al-Qur'an, khususnya Surat Al-Hujurat ayat 11 dan 12 serta Surat An-Nur ayat 19, sebagai landasan etika komunikasi digital. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi dalam membangun kesadaran hukum digital dan perilaku bermedia yang bertanggung jawab berbasis nilai-nilai Qur'ani.

Abstract

Chili productivity on urban farming land is often hindered by nocturnal insect pest attacks, as experienced at Kebun Sumber Berkah, RT 37, Batu Ampar, Balikpapan City. Pest control has relied on chemical pesticide spraying two to three times weekly, incurring high costs and health risks for garden workers. This community service activity aimed to implement LumiTrap UV, an ultraviolet-light pest trap powered by an independent solar panel system, as an environmentally friendly pest-control alternative. The implementation method comprised survey and preparation, design and installation of six LumiTrap UV units, socialization for partners, and sustainability monitoring, involving nine students under the supervision of two lecturers. Results show that all six units were successfully installed and operate automatically at night using independent solar energy, partners gained skills in operating and maintaining the device, and three residents were appointed as sustainability champions. Preliminary observations indicate a declining trend in pest presence around the plants and a reduction of about 50–67% in the frequency of chemical pesticide spraying by partners (from two to three times weekly to about once a week).
