Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ difficulties in division operations and their impact on the mathematics learning outcomes of sixth-grade students at SDN 19 Ampenan. This research employed a qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that students experience various difficulties in understanding the concept of division, both as the inverse of multiplication and as repeated subtraction. In addition, students face challenges in determining quotients, following the procedures of long division, and solving word problems. These difficulties are influenced by students’ weak mastery of basic arithmetic operations, particularly multiplication and subtraction. The impact of these difficulties is reflected in the low mathematics learning outcomes, as indicated by the large number of students who have not achieved the Minimum Mastery Criteria. The average student score is 48, which is still below the established minimum standard of 75.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi energi, usaha, dan daya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi experiment dengan desain nonequivalent control group. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan model Learning Cycle 5E dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pemahaman konsep berbentuk esai yang diberikan melalui pretest dan posttest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai posttest pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 83.07, lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol sebesar 68.92. Peningkatan pemahaman konsep pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 50.71, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 30.26. Selain itu, ketercapaian indikator pemahaman konsep pada kelas eksperimen berada pada kategori baik dengan persentase 82,5%, sedangkan kelas kontrol berada pada kategori cukup dengan persentase 63,98%. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelas, yang mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan model Learning Cycle 5E memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E efektif digunakan sebagai alternatif strategi pembelajaran fisika untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi energi, usaha, dan daya.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between the role of peers and the sexual knowledge of junior high school (SMP) students in Batusangkar. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 120 students in grades 7–9, aged 13–15 years, selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments included a peer group scale developed based on Shaffer’s (1994) theory and a sexual knowledge scale based on Reinisch and Beasley’s (1990) theory. Data analysis utilized the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results indicated a very strong positive relationship between the role of peers and adolescents’ sexual knowledge (r = 0.844; p < 0.05). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that peers play a significant role in sexual knowledge. These results underscore the importance of peers as a significant source of information for adolescents in understanding sexual issues. Furthermore, the findings of this study are expected to serve as a foundation for developing more effective sexual education programs tailored to the needs of adolescents in junior high schools.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between job demand and father involvement among fathers working as firefighters in Padang Panjang. The issue of low father involvement in parenting remains a significant concern, particularly in occupations with high work demands. This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. The participants consisted of 29 fathers selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using the Inventory of Father Involvement (IFI) and the Questionnaire for the Experience and Evaluation of Work (QEEW 2.0). Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression with the assistance of JASP software. The results showed that most participants had moderate levels of job demand and father involvement. Furthermore, there was a significant negative relationship between job demand and father involvement (p < 0.05; β = -0.722). This indicates that higher job demand is associated with lower father involvement in parenting. Job demand contributed 52.1% to father involvement.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and loneliness among adolescents who use Instagram social media in Bukittinggi City. The study used a quantitative approach with purposive sampling techniques involving 165 adolescents aged 15–19 years. Data were collected using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) and the UCLA Loneliness Scale. The reliability test results showed a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.849 for self-esteem and 0.859 for loneliness. Data analysis using the Spearman Rank Correlation test showed a correlation coefficient value of -0.400 with p < 0.001, which means that there is a negative and significant relationship between the two variables. The higher the self-esteem of adolescents, the lower the level of loneliness they feel. These findings indicate the important role of self-esteem in maintaining the psychological well-being of adolescents and the need for digital literacy to encourage healthy and balanced use of social media.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between Psychological Capital and Work Engagement among public senior high school teachers in Tanah Datar Regency. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The participants consisted of 233 teachers selected using cluster sampling technique. Data were collected using the Psychological Capital Questionnaire (PCQ) and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES), and were analyzed using Pearson correlation with the assistance of JASP version 0.19.3. The results indicated a positive and significant relationship between Psychological Capital and Work Engagement. Individuals with more positive psychological conditions tend to have higher levels of work engagement, characterized by energy, dedication, and involvement in their work. These findings highlight the importance of developing Psychological Capital as an effort to enhance teachers’ Work Engagement.

Abstract

Early adolescents experiencing fatherless conditions are vulnerable to decreased psychological well-being due to the absence of a father figure. This study aimed to examine the relationship between perceived peer social support and psychological well-being among early adolescents with fatherless situations at SMP Negeri 3 Payakumbuh. A quantitative correlational approach was employed, involving 100 early adolescents aged 12–14 years selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used were the Perceived Social Support from Friend (PSS-Fr) scale and Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being (PWB) scale. Data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation with the assistance of SPSS. The results indicated a significant positive relationship with moderate strength between perceived peer social support and psychological well-being. Most subjects were in the moderate category for both variables. These findings suggest that higher perceived peer social support is associated with higher psychological well-being among fatherless adolescents

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara meaning in life dan resilience pada remaja penyintas bencana galodo di Kabupaten Agam, Sumatera Barat. Bencana galodo sebagai banjir bandang tidak hanya menimbulkan kerusakan fisik, tetapi juga berdampak pada kondisi psikologis remaja, sehingga diperlukan faktor internal seperti meaning in life untuk membantu proses adaptasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional terhadap 106 remaja yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) dan Meaning in Life Questionnaire (MLQ), kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman’s Rho karena data tidak berdistribusi normal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara meaning in life dan resilience (ρ = 0,518; p < 0,001). Secara parsial, dimensi presence of meaning memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan dengan seluruh dimensi resilience, sedangkan search for meaning memiliki hubungan signifikan dengan sebagian besar dimensi resilience, kecuali pada dimensi spiritual influence yang tidak signifikan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa meaning in life, khususnya keberadaan makna hidup, berperan penting dalam meningkatkan resilience pada remaja penyintas bencana.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara Pet attachment dan Subjective well-being pada individu fase Emerging adulthood yang memelihara kucing. Latar belakang penelitian didasarkan pada tingginya tekanan psikologis pada fase ini serta kebutuhan akan sumber dukungan emosional alternatif. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Data dikumpulkan melalui skala Pet attachment serta Subjective well-being yang mencakup afek positif, afek negatif, dan kepuasan hidup. Hasil analisis menunjukkan hubungan positif yang signifikan antara Pet attachment dan Subjective well-being (ρ = 0,413; p < 0,001). Pet attachment berkorelasi positif dengan afek positif (ρ = 0,319) dan kepuasan hidup (ρ = 0,392), serta negatif dengan afek negatif (ρ = -0,385; p < 0,001). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa keterikatan dengan kucing berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kesejahteraan subjektif, meskipun dalam kategori sedang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi nilai-nilai Pancasila dalam kehidupan sosial dan budaya masyarakat Keraton Buton serta mengkaji bagaimana nilai-nilai tersebut berinteraksi dengan tantangan modernisasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi langsung dan wawancara mendalam, yang didukung dengan kajian literatur dari sumber-sumber ilmiah mutakhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai Pancasila tertanam kuat dalam tradisi dan sistem pemerintahan Keraton Buton. Nilai Ketuhanan tercermin dalam ritual keagamaan, nilai Kemanusiaan dalam penghormatan terhadap seluruh lapisan sosial, nilai Persatuan dalam ikatan komunal yang kokoh, nilai Kerakyatan dalam proses pengambilan keputusan kolektif melalui dewan adat sembilan orang, serta nilai Keadilan Sosial dalam pembagian peran secara proporsional dalam masyarakat. Modernisasi memengaruhi praktik tersebut dengan menghadirkan tantangan seperti individualisme dan pergeseran budaya, tetapi juga peluang seperti pelestarian digital dan penyebaran kearifan lokal. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi akademik dengan menunjukkan bahwa Pancasila tetap relevan baik sebagai ideologi nasional maupun kekuatan budaya dalam menjaga kohesi sosial dan identitas lokal di era modern.
