Abstract

The revitalization of the water level control system and the renovation of the ablution area are strategic efforts to improve the quality of worship facilities at Mushola Nurul Yaqin, Sindang Laut Village, Banten. The previous water control system was inefficient, leading to water wastage and unstable supply, while the damaged ablution area reduced comfort and safety for worshippers. This activity aimed to redesign an automatic water control system using sensors and a microcontroller, as well as to renovate the ablution infrastructure using more durable and functional materials. The implementation results showed that the system could regulate water levels efficiently and in real-time, while the improved ablution facilities provided greater comfort for users. This project has had a positive impact on efficient water management, enhanced worship services, and supports the sustainability of religious facilities within the community.

Abstract

Training and competency certification are part of efforts to enhance the quality of human resources, particularly vocational lecturers, in mastering best practices in Preventive and Predictive Maintenance. This program was conducted over a period of twelve (12) days and covered both theoretical and practical aspects of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, including Maintenance Planning & Scheduling, Vibration Analysis, Thermography, and Total Productive Maintenance. The training was organized through a collaboration between the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP), and the Indonesian Society of Reliability (ISR). The main objective of this program was to improve lecturers' competencies in Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), failure analysis using methods such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and Supply Chain Management (SCM). As a result of the training and certification program, all eleven (11) participants were declared certified and received certification from ISR. This achievement serves as capital to support excellent and globally competitive vocational education.

Abstract

Community Service entitled Building a Culture of Savings and Financial Management for Students at the Rh La Tahzan Foundation in Cinangka, Depok - West Java aims to introduce and provide knowledge and understanding to students of the RH La Tahzan Foundation, Cinangka, Depok - West Java regarding the importance of having skills and financial management skills from an early age to participate in reducing poverty in Indonesia. The target of this service is students of the RH La Tahzan Foundation, Cinangka, Depok - West Java. The results of this PKM prove that students who are mostly in poverty can master financial management methods which will later provide a sense of self-confidence in selling themselves at work because they have value, are looking for work and are useful for others and ultimately can help play a role in reducing poverty in Indonesia.

Abstract

Earthquakes are natural disasters that can occur suddenly. Although various early indicators or precursors have been studied extensively, there is still no technology capable of accurately predicting the exact time of an earthquake. Therefore, it is crucial for communities to gain knowledge and understanding about how to be prepared and responsive to the risks of earthquakes—particularly megathrust earthquakes, which pose a significant threat in high-risk areas such as the southern part of Java Island. Unfortunately, the role of the community—despite being the largest and most important group in disaster mitigation efforts—is often overlooked in disaster preparedness planning. Yet, preparedness is a critical component, as it can significantly reduce mortality rates caused by earthquakes. One effective way to improve preparedness is through educational programs such as “SiGap – Ready and Responsive,” aimed at adolescents. Adolescents, aged between 10 and 19, are in a unique developmental stage that is essential for building a strong foundation of health knowledge. Educating this age group is expected not only to foster proactive attitudes in disaster response but also to encourage sustained community involvement in preparedness activities. Choosing the right educational media also plays an important role in enhancing understanding, and digital media is one of the most effective tools. Utilizing engaging technology can help deliver information in a way that is easier to absorb and remember. Therefore, innovation is needed in delivering education to adolescents so that the intended messages are effectively communicated. To build a society that is well-prepared and responsive to the risks of megathrust earthquakes, an advanced and modern learning model tailored to the younger generation is essential. This study aims to assess the impact of the “SiGap – Ready and Responsive” educational program on adolescent preparedness in facing the threat of megathrust earthquakes, specifically among the youth of Nasyiatul Aisyiyah in Pleret, Kulon Progo.

Abstract

Technological developments become increasingly numerous and diverse in today's digital era, and the rise in internet users, particularly among children and teenagers, is closely linked to the use of one such technology known as Artificial Intelligence (AI). Young children, often referred to as Generation Alpha, are growing up alongside smart technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in an environment where digital devices and the internet are an integral part of daily life. They may have encountered and used AI-powered applications or games without fully understanding the mechanisms behind them, and they interact with the virtual world almost constantly. The method of implementing the Community Service Activity (PkM) was a socialization program about AI technology conducted at the Villa Permata Serpong Housing Complex. This aimed to provide basic knowledge about AI so that children could understand the use of AI technology, whether for interaction, communication, or information sharing, and to broaden their understanding of the potential of AI as a tool to support learning, providing personalized and interactive learning experiences. The results of this PkM indicate that the socialization activities for Generation Alpha children were effective in improving digital literacy in understanding the basic concepts of AI, recognizing the functions and presence of AI in daily life for independent and responsible learning, and fostering awareness of the safe and positive potential of AI.

Abstract

One type of household waste that is commonly discarded and rarely reused is banana peel waste. If left unmanaged, it can cause environmental problems in both rural and urban areas. An alternative solution is to utilize banana peel waste, such as Ambon banana peels, as a source of local microorganisms for producing liquid organic fertilizer (POC). POC is relatively easy to produce and environmentally friendly. This community service program aimed to empower residents of Dasawisma Dahlia RT 004, Labuhan Ratu, Bandar Lampung, through training on the production of liquid fertilizer concentrate (LFC) from Ambon banana peels. The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge and skills, as reflected in the average pre-test score of 60.51, which increased to 86.67 after the post-test. This represents an improvement of 26.15 points, or a 43.22% increase. The sustainability of this initiative lies in the potential for large-scale POC production, which can be further utilized for environmental and economic benefits.

Abstract

UMKM Make-D is located in Dieng Kulon Tourism Village, one of the villages in Batur District, Banjarnegara Regency. Potato chips are a typical souvenir from this area, along with the increase in tourist visits in proportion to the demand for potato chips. The production process is still traditional, making it difficult for UMKM to meet customer demand. The goal of the mechanical engineering lecturer community service team is to implement a semi-automatic chopping and frying machine to help speed up the production process of quality fried shallots. The method in this community service begins with identifying partner problems, the next stage is to conduct a group discussion with the community service team to discuss problem solutions, the result of this community service is the application of appropriate technology for semi-automatic chopping and frying machines to improve the potato chip production process.

Abstract

Education is an  important activity role in the development and changes that will occur in society. In today's era, competition for jobs is becoming increasingly fierce. To face this fierce competition in the world of work, students are expected to have skills, one of which is the use of Microsoft Office. PKBM Penerus Bangsa Tangerang Selatan aims to enhance students' skills in using the widely used software Microsoft Office Excel. Microsoft Office Excel is one of the most renowned software programs globally. To use Microsoft Office Excel effectively, students must master its techniques. Therefore, to assist our students, the PKM Dosen Universitas Pamulang team will conduct training and workshops titled “Training on the Use of Microsoft Office to Enhance Skills and Competencies for Students of PKBM Penerus Bangsa Tangerang Selatan”.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide education on the fundamental concepts of entrepreneurship, business opportunities in the digital era, strategies for starting a business at an early stage, and an introduction to financial reporting in small and medium enterprises for students at SMK NU 1Islamiyah Kramat, Tegal Regency. Through a participatory approach, it is expected that students will be motivated to explore their business potential and be better prepared to face the workforce or engage in entrepreneurship. This activity was attended by 100 participants and employed methods such as interactive lectures, discussions, and Q&A sessions, along with an evaluation using pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The results of this activity indicate that students have a high interest in the field of entrepreneurship and have gained a better understanding of basic entrepreneurial concepts and business opportunities. This community service initiative is expected to serve as a step towards fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among students, equipping them with a higher level of readiness to enter the workforce and create their own business opportunities.

Abstract

Community Service Program (KKN) is a form of community service activity conducted by universities by students under the guidance of lecturers and local government leaders. Through KKN, students can apply the knowledge they have gained in higher education to real life. KKN students from the State Islamic University of North Sumatra Medan who were stationed in Klumpang Kampung Village created a work program in the form of Community Service activities. The results of this community service show that the waste problem in Klumpang Kampung Village is a serious issue with a dirty environment, especially around the river near residential areas. Public awareness of cleanliness and health is important to prevent disease and potential flooding due to piles of garbage that can clog water channels during the rainy season. This Community Service Program is not only carried out to maintain the cleanliness of the village, but also as a medium to get closer to the people of Klumpang Kampung Village and to maintain harmony between communities. In this case, certain agendas are needed in Klumpang Kampung Village, so as to strengthen the existing family ties and also create a spirit of mutual reminder between the community about the importance of cleanliness and health, as well as providing a place as a final disposal for waste. The increasingly better quality of clean and healthy life of the people of Klumpang Village will have an impact on other village communities.
