Abstract

This community service activity addressed the suboptimal knowledge and implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat/PHBS) among adolescents in the school setting. The activity aimed to improve students’ knowledge of PHBS through structured health education using an educational leaflet entitled “PHBS di Sekolah: Sehat Itu Keren!”. The method employed was a participatory face-to-face health education approach involving interactive lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and practical demonstrations. The activity was conducted on January 14, 2026, at SMKS Kesehatan Darussalam, Lhokseumawe City, involving 28 students. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ knowledge after the intervention. The proportion of participants with good knowledge increased from 32.1% before education to 75.0% after education, while the mean knowledge score increased from 68.81% to 87.62%. These findings indicate that PHBS education using leaflet media is effective in enhancing adolescents’ knowledge and can serve as a strategic approach to strengthening sustainable healthy behavior practices in the school.

Abstract

Anemia among adolescent girls remains a public health problem that affects reproductive health and quality of life in adulthood. The CERIA Program (Cegah Anemia Remaja melalui Edukasi Tablet Tambah Darah) was implemented as a community service activity to improve knowledge and awareness of anemia and iron tablet consumption among adolescent girls. This program was conducted at SMKS Kesehatan Darussalam Lhokseumawe using interactive health education methods, including lectures, discussions, and simple printed media. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test assessments of knowledge and a participant satisfaction survey. The results showed that before the intervention, most participants had moderate (40.0%) and low (30.0%) levels of knowledge. After the educational intervention, the majority of respondents achieved a good level of knowledge (73.3%), with no participants remaining in the low category (0.0%). Furthermore, the satisfaction survey indicated that all participants (100%) provided positive evaluations, reflecting a good level of satisfaction. The CERIA Program is effective in improving knowledge and participant satisfaction and has the potential to support sustainable anemia prevention among adolescent girls.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (CSP) conducted for the elderly at the Tresna Werdha Social Home in Yogyakarta aims to provide care for the elderly, who generally experience mental changes that can lead to depression or stress and long-term health decline. Mental changes due to age are common in everyone. Therefore, attention is needed from the social environment. Therefore, there needs to be special attention to the welfare of the elderly, including efforts to create an environment that supports them physically, mentally, and socially. Devotion and social activities such as gymnastics and coloring can be effective solutions to improve the happiness and quality of life of the elderly, especially at the Tresna Werdha Social Home in Yogyakarta. Caring for the elderly is not only a personal responsibility, but also a social responsibility, and efforts like this need to be continuously encouraged to create a more inclusive and caring society for the elderly generation. The Community Service Program (PKM) activities carried out in collaboration between students and lecturers at Amayo are expected to have an impact on the welfare of the wider community.
