Abstract

Indonesian Ministry of Health states that there has been a decrease in the stunting rate in Indonesia, however, based on WHO health standards, the stunting rate in Indonesia is still high. This fact shows that posyandu as the spearhead of handling stunting still needs to develop strategies in an effort to reduce stunting rates. This research analyzes the intervention strategies carried out by posyandu cadres in the Pamoyanan sub-district, in implementing health communication for handling stunted children. The findings of this research are that the family counseling health communication intervention pattern in the form of mutual cooperation in handling stunted children by the entire family of the stunted child has proven to be effective in restoring the health of the stunted child, where the whole family works together to implement a healthy eating pattern for the stunted child. This research also found that assigning treatment only to mothers proved to be less effective, in addition to the characteristics of highly educated mothers not always producing a parenting pattern that could prevent stunting in children. This research is qualitative research with a case study approach on five stunted children found in the Pamoyanan sub-district.

Abstract

Breastfeeding brings joy to new mothers and provides the best start for children. However, this process is always easy, especially for mothers after cesarean delivery (SC). This research explores the factors that influence the release of breast milk (ASI) in post-SC mothers at Sultan Sulaiman Hospital, North Sumatra. In planning a cross-sectional survey, variables such as breastfeeding frequency, breast care, nursing care, diet, and gestational age were evaluated to understand overall breast milk production. The results show that regular breastfeeding frequency and good breast care are associated with smooth breast milk production. However, hospitalisation did not show a significant correlation with breast milk production in mothers after CS.

Occupational health and safety is a crucial aspect in the hospital environment. Even though there are regulations governing the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by nurses, compliance with its use is still a challenge. Quantitative methods with a cross-sectional approach were used with a sample of 60 nurses from inpatient rooms. Data was obtained through questionnaires, and statistical analysis was carried out using univariate, bivariate and multivariate tests. The results show a significant relationship between work experience, attitudes, knowledge, availability of PPE, supervision, and social support with the use of PPE. The dominant factors influencing the use of PPE are length of service, attitude and social support. The implication is that attention needs to be paid to education, training, better supervision, as well as a supportive culture and attitude to increase compliance with the use of PPE among nurses in hospitals.

Abstract

Health is a human right and one of the elements of welfare that must be realized in accordance with the ideals of the nation as stated in Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. Regarding the matters already listed in the 1945 Constitution, health workers in serving the community, are also bound by ethics and health law. In carrying out health services, health workers must comply with professional ethics (professional code of ethics) and also comply with the law, the rules set out in the law. Ethics in medical action in Islamic literature is known as adab. Adab in hadith and early post-Islamic literature means proper speech, good ethics, and correct procedures. Islamic law has laid down rules that concern health services and care, including the health of society and the state at large and has contributed greatly to the modern medical science that is developing today. With this research, the researcher conducts research activities objectively on the reality of the subject under study, in the sense that reality is seen from the angle of those being studied. This qualitative research is more concerned with the accuracy and adequacy of the data.

Abstract

Traditional medicine in Indonesia, as part of the archipelago's cultural heritage, has been the main choice in curing people's illnesses. Despite the growth of modern medical services, many still rely on traditional medicine, including reflexology, herbal drinks, aromatherapy, chiropractic therapy, cupping, and acupuncture. This study aims to examine and discuss traditional medicine in Indonesia, focusing on Battra (traditional medicine) and various types of traditional medicine such as reflexology, herbal drinks, aromatherapy, chiropractic therapy, cupping, acupuncture, as well as traditional medicine in the context of Islamic law. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach through literature study. The results show that there is a link between the social relationship between traditional healers and patients as a legal relationship in terms of their respective interests. In addition, traditional medicine in Indonesia is not only seen as a cheap alternative, but also as an inseparable part of cultural identity and ancestral heritage that needs to be preserved. Health law also plays a role in regulating and protecting traditional medicine to prevent abuse and harmful practices.
