Abstract

Medical devices are tools and/or equipment used to prevent, diagnose, treat and reduce disease. The aim of this study was to assess how well medical equipment purchases balance hospital operations. The research method uses a descriptive-analytic approach and is qualitative in nature. The results of the research show that logistics management at RSU Haji Medan has been carried out well and in accordance with applicable procedures. The process of procuring medical equipment at Haji Medan Regional Hospital which follows the SOP system approach, finances, human resources and facilities still do not fully comply with the rules for managing medical devices in health facilities. Inadequate infrastructure, budgets that need to be increased, problems with process components that have not been received, and less than optimal use of medical equipment are just some of the weaknesses.

Abstract

Waste management continues to be a significant challenge in major cities, including Medan City which generates 2,000 tons of waste daily. The types, quantities, and varieties of waste produced are steadily increasing due to annual population growth and evolving consumption patterns and lifestyle changes within the community. This community empowerment initiative aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of students at SMPN 31 Medan. The study employed the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) method. The program targeted 25 participants from Grade XI. Activities began with participants completing a pre-test, followed by material presentation by the research team, a post-test assessment, and culminated in hands-on recycling projects where students created piggy banks and pencil cases from used plastic bottles and straws. The program demonstrated significant success, evidenced by a 25.6-point increase in participants' knowledge scores and marked improvement in their inorganic waste recycling skills.

Abstract

Dental and oral health has an effect on improving the quality of life and productivity of human resources. RSGM Soelastri is one of the dental and oral health service facilities. The condition of visits of inpatients and new emergency room patients in 2024 has fluctuated and is below the target. This can result in a decrease in hospital revenue and can have an impact on the disruption of hospital operational activities, so that the services provided to patients are not optimal. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a review of the marketing strategy of RSGM Soelastri. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of marketing strategies at Soelastri Dental and Oral Hospital. This research uses a qualitative method, through in-depth interview techniques. Data sources are obtained from primary data and secondary data. There were 14 informants, divided into 8 main informants and 6 supporting informants. Data analysis by checking the results of the research with different data collection techniques, namely interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study are known that RSGM Soelastri has carried out segmentation, targeting and market positioning. RSGM Soelastri has carried out promotional activities such as counseling, but it has not been maximized. Promotion has not reached all levels of society. The types of services offered are complete. Service rates are able to compete with other hospitals. RSGM Soelastri includes staff in various types of training, but it is still limited. The tools used are modern, but there are some computer devices and radiology printers that are no longer efficient for service. There are limited human resources and financial constraints. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of marketing strategies consisting of market segmentation, target market, positioning, and market surveys has been carried out, but not optimally. The implementation of the 7P Marketing Mix at RSGM Soelastri has been carried out, but it has not been maximized. The implementation of marketing strategies is constrained by budgets and human resources. It is suggested for other researchers, it is necessary to conduct research on marketing strategies in more depth by looking at the promotion mix of inpatient and emergency room services as one of the services that support the number of patient visits at RSGM Soelastri.

Abstract

Based on the 2014 Indonesian Health Profile, it is known that nationally there are 74.76% of districts/cities that have implemented medical waste management guidance and have not met the target of the 2014 Ministry of Health Strategic Plan, which is 75%. The number of hospitals in Indonesia is 2,601 hospitals. Hospital medical waste belongs to the category of hazardous and toxic waste that is very important to manage properly. Some medical waste is included in the category of hazardous and infectious waste. There are still many hazardous medical wastes in the form of chemical waste, pharmaceutical waste, heavy metals, genotoxic waste and pressurized containers that have not been properly managed. Meanwhile, infectious waste is waste that can be a source of disease both for hospital human resources, patients, visitors/patient referrals or the community around the hospital environment. Infectious waste is usually in the form of patient body tissues, syringes, blood, bandages, culture cultures, materials or equipment that come into contact with infectious diseases or other media that are estimated to be contaminated by the patient's disease will be the main threat to public health where the UPTD DATU BERU HOSPITAL is close to the settlement allows environmental pollution if waste management is not carried out properly. This study aims to determine the analysis of solid medical waste management in UPTD DATU BERU HOSPITAL. This study uses a type of descriptive research, using qualitative methods. The respondents in this study were in accordance with the above criteria of 2 key informants, 2 main informants and 3 triangulated/additional informants totaling 7 people. The results of this study show that there is still a lack of commitment of hospitals in the solid medical waste management system, supporting facilities have not been fulfilled, and the stages of waste management and labeling have been carried out. The final disposal site is not suitable and needs to change the sanitary landfill method. It is recommended to the hospital to increase commitment to waste management, equip each waste-producing room with needle cutters, safety boxes in each room, equip personal protective equipment, provide immunization programs and health checks.

Abstract

Background: Exclusive breastfeeding is an important factor in supporting the growth and development of babies. However, exclusive breastfeeding coverage is still low in various regions, including at the Ujung Batu Health Center, North Padang Lawas Regency. Research Objectives: To analyze the factors that affect the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Research Method: Using the Analytical Survey method with a Cross Sectional approach. Research Population: this is all mothers who have babies 6-12 months in the Ujung Batu Health Center as many as 115 people and a sample of 89 people with random sampling techniques. Research Instrument: this is a questionnaire about the success of Exclusive Breastfeeding and several factors related to the success of Exclusive Breastfeeding using univariate, bivariate analysis with chi-square test and multivariate with logistic regression. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using logistic regression tests. The results of the study: showed that the factors that had a significant influence on the success of exclusive breastfeeding were the level of maternal knowledge (p=0.002), family support (p=0.005), the role of health workers (p=0.001), and maternal employment factors (p=0.010). Mothers with a good level of knowledge and strong family support are more likely to breastfeed exclusively. In addition, health workers who actively provide education increase the likelihood of success in exclusive breastfeeding. In contrast, working mothers have a lower likelihood of exclusive breastfeeding. The conclusion of this study is that increased education about exclusive breastfeeding as well as the support of families and health workers is very important to increase the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in this region Suggestion: Respondents who have babies aged 6-12 months are expected to be able to give exclusive breastfeeding and can increase awareness of the importance of exclusive breastfeeding, and have high patience when breastfeeding exclusively.

Abstract

Sexually transmitted infections are still a serious problem in public health due to their impact on morbidity and mortality. Indonesia, as a developing country, also faces challenges in adolescent reproductive health, especially with the high prevalence of STIs among adolescents and young adults. The spread of this disease is still high due to a lack of knowledge and education in the field of reproductive health, as well as the influence of the environment and friends. Reproductive health education is one of the strategies that can be used to reduce risk and can help adolescents improve their knowledge and good attitudes in dealing with PIMS. The purpose of this study is to analyze whether there is an educational effect of reproductive health on adolescent behavior in sexually transmitted diseases at SMA Negeri 1 Bandar. The research design uses a quasi-experimental model with a pretest-posttest control group design. The data was analyzed using the non-parametric statistical test Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to compare the differences. The location is at SMA Negeri 1 Bandar with a sample of all female students totaling 70 people. The results of the study showed that there were significant differences before and after education. Where in the group that was educated, a significance value (p) of 0.000 was obtained less than ɑ 0.05, so that Ho was accepted "there is an effect after the implementation of reproductive health education on the knowledge, attitudes and actions of adolescents. Then the results of the study showed that there was no significant difference in knowledge, attitudes and actions in the group that was not given reproductive health education, where in the group that was not given education, a significance value (p) of 0.317 was obtained greater than ɑ 0.05, so Ho was rejected "there was no effect after the implementation of reproductive health education on the knowledge, attitudes and actions of adolescents" in the group that was not educated. The conclusion of this study is that there is an influence of reproductive health education on the behavior of adolescents with sexually transmitted infectious diseases at SMA Negeri 1 Bandar. It is hoped to continue to maintain this health education as one of the promotive efforts by increasing cooperation through cross-sectors in community health centers.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic malnutrition condition whose prevalence has not yet reached the national target of 14%. The incidence of stunting in Indonesia still needs to be reduced according to the government's target. A history of preeclampsia is suspected as a risk factor for stunting so it needs to be studied. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between a history of preeclampsia in mothers and the incidence of stunting in toddlers. This study is a quantitative study with an analytical survey design and a cross- sectional approach in 30 mothers and children aged 24-59 months at the Pekauman Health Center who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research data were collected using observation sheets and anthropometric examinations and analyzed using the chi square test. The results showed that most mothers were in the non-risk age category (66.7%), most children were in the toddler age category (63.3%), and the percentage of boys and girls was balanced (50%). Most mothers had a history of preeclampsia (70%) and most children had stunting status (60%). The results of the chi square test showed a p value = 0.006. Adequate nutritional intake is needed for children to improve nutritional status.

Abstract

The implementation of a Health Logistics Management System at Syahrul Husada Clinic, which aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health service delivery. The study identified several important areas for improvement, including the need for greater transparency in budget management, improved coordination in medical waste management, and ongoing training for medical staff to ensure safe and efficient logistics distribution. The findings show that while clinics have made strides in complying with regulatory standards for drug management, challenges remain in managing medical waste and ensuring timely disposal. Collaboration with third-party waste management services is essential to address these issues. The study emphasizes the importance of leveraging technology, such as cloud-based information systems, to predict logistics needs and support accurate planning. Overall, this study highlights the need to adhere to established procedures and protocols to maintain the quality and availability of healthcare logistics in clinics.
