Abstract

Background: Physical changes in the elderly include changes in the aorta and systemic blood vessels that affect blood pressure. Increased blood pressure in the elderly is a health problem that must be handled properly. The management of hypertension can be done by giving the DASH diet, in this case this study provides an interlude to the DASH diet. Research Methods: This type of research uses a quasi-experimental research design with a randomized pre-test-post-test control group design. Subjects were divided into two groups, namely the treatment group and the control group.Research Results: Most of the subjects in this study were elderly aged 70-74 years (33.3%) in the treatment and 75-80 years (50%) in the control. The research subjects were mostly female, namely 27 elderly (75%). The average body weight for the treatment group was 54.24 kg and the control group was 48.48 kg. The mean blood pressure in both groups before the intervention was higher than the mean blood pressure after the intervention. The results of the paired-t test statistic showed that there was a difference in the mean of systolic (0.000) and diastolic (0.000) blood pressure before and after the intervention. Meanwhile, the two-group difference test showed that there was no difference in systolic and diastolic blood pressure before the intervention. However, after the intervention, there was a difference in systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Furthermore, there was an effect of the DASH diet interlude on Systolic blood pressure (p = 0.000) and Diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.034) after the DASH diet snack was given. Conclusion: there is an effect of giving a DASH diet interlude on systolic blood pressure (p=0.000) and diastolic blood pressure (p=0.034) after giving the DASH diet snack.

Abstract

Background : Hypoalbuminemia is a condition where the albumin level in the blood falls below normal. Hypoalbuminemia is known as a marker of protein energy malnutrition, inflammation, infection, liver disease, kidney disease and postoperative stress. In Indonesia, malnutrition hospital data shows 40-50% of patients have hypoalbuminemia or are at risk of hypoalbuminemia, 12% of them are severe hypoalbuminemia, and the hospitalization period for patients with hospital malnutrition shows 90% longer than patients with good nutrition. Decreased albumin levels can be associated with a decrease in the immune system and slow healing of tissues/wounds due to infection. Neutrophils and lymphocytes whose numbers increase when inflammation occurs. Oral administration of high protein with snakehead fish extract ( Channa striata ) is an alternative treatment for hypoalbuminemia. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of snakehead fish extract (Channa striata) on albumin, neutrophil, and lymphocyte levels in hypoalbuminemic patients. Method: Articles are compiled using a systematic method literature review , involving national and international journals by taking journals through Google scholar, Pubmed, Research Gate, Scient direct. Results: There was an effect of giving snakehead fish extract on albumin levels, neutrophil values, and lymphocyte values in hypoalbuinemic patients and experimental animals. Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is one of the chronic diseases that causes the highest death in Indonesia. In fact, the number of cases of pain continues to increase. Riskesdas 2018 data shows that the total number of diabetes cases in Indonesia is 8.5%. Complications include heart attacks and strokes, severe leg infections (causing gangrene, which may result in amputation), end-stage renal failure, and sexual dysfunction. After 10-15 years from the time of diagnosis, the prevalence of all complications of diabetes increases markedly. Efforts that can be made to prevent diabetes mellitus are managing lifestyle, regular physical activity, maintaining diet, and conducting early examinations. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nutrition knowledge and food frequency with the incidence of diabetes mellitus. This was an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional study design conducted in Malang. A sample of 54 people was selected by purposive sampling technique. The dependent variable is the incidence of diabetes mellitus. Independent variables include nutrition knowledge and food frequency. The data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed using Pearson correlation. Nutrition knowledge (r = 0.40; p = 0.003) and food frequency (r = 0.33; p = 0.017) related to diabetes mellitus and statistically significant. Good nutritional knowledge and regular food frequency can prevent diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Abstract:Date seed coffee is obtained by drying, roasting and grinding the date seeds. There are many benefits that can be obtained from the ingredients in date seeds, such as nourishing your stamina. The flavonoids contained therein also have antioxidant properties. Date seeds have also been developed into a coffee substitute. Therefore, researchers are interested in analyzing the content of flavonoids, caffeine and antioxidant activity in them. This research was conducted to determine the presence or absence of caffeine content, to determine the presence or absence and levels of flavonoids and strong antioxidant activity in dated coffee seeds. This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive research design. Date seeds are processed into coffee by drying the clean date seeds in the oven and then roasting them until the seeds are torn and quite burnt. Date seeds that have been roasted, crushed and sieve with a 60 mesh sieve. The date palm coffee powder was extracted by socletation using 80% ethanol as a solvent. The extracts of date seeds were analyzed qualitatively of flavonoids and caffeine with color testing, quantitative analysis of flavonoids with UV-Vis spectophotometry and antioxidant activity using the DPPH method. The qualitative test showed that positive date coffee seeds containing flavonoids was indicated by a red color change when reacted with Mg and HCl powder, and negative containing caffeine was indicated by a red color change when reacted with concentrated ammonia. In the quantitative analysis of flavonoids, the levels of flavonoids in dated seed coffee were 7523.03 ± 10.5078 mg QE / 100 g, and the antioxidant activity test showed that the level of IC50 in dated seed coffee was 26, 747 ppm. It shows that date seed coffee is free of caffeine, has a high content of flavonoids and has very strong antioxidants

Abstract

The background : of this study is that the nutritional needs of adolescents are relatively large, because they are still experiencing growth. In addition, adolescents generally carry out higher levels of physical activity compared to other ages. In addition, female adolescents are an age group that is vulnerable to nutritional problems, especially anemia, so that more nutrients are needed. A balanced menu pattern and portion standards will greatly affect the nutritional value of each dish. The aim of the study : was to analyze portion standards, menu patterns, and food acceptability on the level of availability and consumption levels of energy and nutrients in Ma'had Tahfizhul Qur'an Al-Firqoh An-Najiyah Food Service in Malang Regency. This research method : is a type of research that is descriptive qualitative with a cross-sectional study design, meaning that the observations are made at the same time. The results : of the analysis show that most of the menus served by the organization of Ma'had food are not included in the balanced category. The breakfast as a whole falls into the unbalanced category by (100%), this is because the food organizers only provide a menu of animal side dishes once a day at dinner, and twice a day for vegetable side dishes at breakfast and lunch. The presentation of staple foods, vegetables and fruit is in the category of less than the standard portion, but the types of animal side dishes and vegetable side dishes exceed and almost meet the set portion standards. Acceptability of food shows that respondents do not like the color and texture of the food served by the food organizer, this is due to the repetition of the menu which results in a lack of interest of the respondents in food. inadequate portion standards and budgets. the adequacy of nutrients such as energy, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins C and Fe (iron), is still classified as a severe deficit, this is due to the lack of compliance with the proportions of female students, interest in the food menu, lack of awareness of fulfillment of nutrients, and unhealthy eating patterns Wrong

Abstract

High blood pressure cannot be ignored as it can lead to complications, particularly hypertension in the elderly. If left uncontrolled, hypertension can result in complications. One non-pharmacological prevention method that is rarely known and applied by the community is complementary therapy, such as hydrotherapy and sunbathing therapy. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of hydrotherapy techniques (warm water soaking) and sunbathing therapy on managing hypertension in the elderly. The research method used is a quasi-experimental approach with pre-test and post-test in two groups: the treatment group and the control group. Data analysis utilized paired t-test comparison, with a p-value of 0.000, indicating that there is an effect of the combination of hydrotherapy and sunbathing therapy on the blood pressure of elderly patients with hypertension. It is hoped that healthcare professionals will provide education to help prevent increased blood pressure using non-pharmacological therapies, such as the combination of hydrotherapy and sunbathing therapy.
