Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of sharia principles in the operation of sharia hotels in Indonesia from the perspective of institutional economics, human resource management, and entrepreneurship. The research methods used are systematic literature review, which include studies from leading academic databases, namely Scopus, Google Scholar, JSTOR, and IEEE Xplore. The main findings of this study indicate that a strong institutional and regulatory structure is essential for the operation of sharia hotels, with government policy support playing a key role in ensuring compliance with sharia principles. In addition, employee training and development that focuses on Islamic values has been shown to improve service quality and customer satisfaction. Entrepreneurship in sharia hotels involves innovation and development of sharia-compliant business models, which helps improve the competitiveness and sustainability of hotels.

Abstract

This study investigated the influence of core, functional, and spiritual competencies on teachers' perceived teaching quality at SD Nizamia Andalusia Jakarta, an Islamic elementary school to examine the relationships between these competency dimensions and teaching quality. Data were collected through questionnaires administered to the entire teaching staff. The results confirmed that core, functional, and spiritual competencies collectively explained a substantial amount of the variance in perceived teaching quality among the teachers. Notably, the findings highlighted the interconnected importance of all three competency dimensions, with spiritual competencies emerging as a particularly influential factor within this specific Islamic educational context. This suggests that beyond fundamental and pedagogical skills, the embodiment of spiritual values significantly contributes to teachers' effectiveness and overall teaching quality within an Islamic school setting. The study highlights the need for comprehensive teacher development programs that address all three competency domains to enhance educational outcomes in Islamic elementary education.

Abstract

This study investigates how digital technology adoption and online marketing strategies drive consumer purchase decisions, with service quality examined as a moderating variable. Employing a quantitative explanatory design, data were collected from 200 Indonesian undergraduate students who actively use the Shopee e-commerce platform. Measurement items were adapted from established scales and analyzed through Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and moderated regression analysis. The results show that both digital technology adoption and online marketing strategies have significant positive effects on consumer purchase decisions. More importantly, service quality not only exerts a direct influence but also strengthens the relationships between technology, marketing, and consumer behavior. The proposed model explains 47.2% of the variance in purchase decisions, demonstrating moderate explanatory power. This research contributes to the literature by extending previous studies that primarily examined direct relationships. It introduces service quality as a moderating mechanism that enhances the effectiveness of digital and marketing innovations. Practically, the findings offer strategic insights for e-commerce platforms to integrate technological adoption, marketing personalization, and high-quality service delivery in order to build consumer trust and encourage sustainable purchasing behavior.

Abstract

The development of financial technology (fintech) has brought significant changes to people's transaction patterns, particularly among university students, with the increasing use of digital wallets. This phenomenon is influenced by various factors, including digital literacy, financial attitude, herd behavior, and these factors impact on financial well-being. Therefore, this study aims to construct a structural model of digital wallet usage and how it impacts the financial well-being of students. This research uses a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method to examine the relationships between variables. Data was collected through the distribution of questionnaires to students who actively use digital wallets. The results show that digital literacy has the largest total effect on financial well-being through two pathways: a direct influence and an indirect influence through the use of digital wallets. The total effect of digital literacy is high, making it the dominant predictor in the model. The research results show an R² value for the digital wallet usage variable of 0.508, which falls into the moderate category, while for the financial well-being variable it is 0.723, which falls into the high category. Digital literacy (LD) has established itself as the most fundamental determinant in the digital financial ecosystem. It serves not only as the primary driver of digital wallet (PDD) adoption by enhancing perceived usefulness and ease of use, consistent with the extended technology acceptance model, but also contributes directly and significantly to improving financial well-being (FWB) by facilitating access to financial information and products, aligning with the digital divide theory.

Abstract

The growing urgency of sustainability challenges demands transformative entrepreneurial practices that integrate environmental responsibility into business operations. Study explores ecopreneurial values, drivers, and barriers in Yogyakarta culinary MSMEs. This study offers new empirical evidence that business scale, rather than age or capital, is the key determinant of sustainability integration among MSMEs. It further reveals that cognitive constraints—such as limited knowledge, awareness, and green literacy—exert a stronger influence than financial limitations in shaping ecopreneurial decision-making. This study employed a quantitative, cross-sectional survey of 100 culinary MSMEs in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, post-hoc tests, and ANCOVA to assess the influence of MSME classification while controlling for business age and capital. Findings reveal significant differences across business classifications in adopting ecopreneurship values (F = 56.622; p < 0.001; η² = 0.539), with medium enterprises demonstrating the strongest implementation. The dominant barriers are lack of information (30%) and limited awareness (25%), while key drivers are market opportunity (28%) and autonomy motivation (25%). Ecopreneurship advancement among MSMEs is primarily capability-driven and shaped by motivational and informational factors rather than financial strength or experience. Policy interventions should therefore adopt classification-based strategies, focusing on green literacy, market access enhancement, and collaborative ecosystem development, especially for micro and small enterprises. The key implication is these findings suggest that national and regional policies should prioritize knowledge-based capacity building and ecosystem collaboration rather than merely providing financial incentives, ensuring a more inclusive and enduring green transformation of MSMEs.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of Value Equity, Brand Equity, Relationship Equity, and Financial Equity as a novel extension of the customer equity framework on Customer Loyalty in the restaurant sector in Garut Regency. The study employs a quantitative survey-based approach using Structural Equation Model Partial Least Square, with data collected from 100 restaurant customers selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal that Brand Equity and Relationship Equity have a positive and significant influence on Customer Loyalty, whereas Value Equity and Financial Equity show positive but insignificant effects. The insignificance of Value and Financial Equity may reflect contextual factors, such as relational-oriented consumer behavior and limited sensitivity to financial considerations in local restaurant choices. The results confirm the multidimensional nature of Customer Equity and highlight the dominant role of Brand and Relationship Equity in fostering loyalty. The inclusion of Financial Equity provides a theoretical contribution by extending the customer equity model in the context of MSMEs in a developing region.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of Holistic Marketing on the Sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Sukabumi Regency, with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) as the mediation variable. This topic is very crucial because even though MSMEs are the backbone of the national economy, the majority still face significant obstacles in internalizing the sustainability values needed to maintain competitiveness in the digital economy era. In particular, this study fills a gap in the literature by exploring how a holistic marketing approach can be a key driver of ESG adoption in developing countries. Using a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) technique, data was collected from 200 MSME actors. The results of the analysis showed that Holistic Marketing had a significant positive effect on ESG (β = 0.566; p <0.001), indicating that comprehensive and digital-centric marketing strategies successfully improve ethical awareness and practices. ESG has a positive effect on Business Sustainability (β = 0.375; p <0.001) and has been shown to play a role as a partial mediator that strengthens the direct influence of Holistic Marketing on Business Sustainability (β = 0.329; p <0.001). The primary novelty of this study lies in the empirical evidence that the integration of digital-based holistic marketing and ESG represents a vital mechanism for MSME resilience in developing regions, a model that has been rarely explored in empirical research in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Islamic hospitality industry faces a tough challenge in maintaining repurchase intentions amid increasingly fierce competition. Although social media marketing activities (SMMAs) have become the dominant strategy, the psychological mechanisms that explain the conversion of these activities into repetitive buying behaviors are still not optimally internalized; This is reflected in the empirical paradox in which increased digital investment successfully attracts new visitors, but fails to prevent a drastic decline in retention rates. This causal explanatory research aims to analyze the role of brand awareness (BA) mediation in the relationship between SMMA and buyback intention (RI) in the context of Islamic boarding houses, as well as validate relevant theoretical frameworks. Using the Partial Smallest Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) on a sample of 98 respondents who are actual customers of Islamic boarding schools in West Java, the results of the study prove that SMMA has a significant effect on the Republic of Indonesia, both directly and indirectly through the mediation of BA. In particular, Brand Awareness has been shown to act as a significant partial mediation mechanism, while also confirming the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) Framework in the sharia hospitality market. These findings provide crucial practical implications for sharia lodging managers to shift the focus of their social media content strategy: optimizing efforts that consistently build brand recall and brand recognition instead of simply pursuing reach metrics), thus being able to transform brand awareness into continuous repeat buying behavior.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of mental health on employee productivity, focusing on the mediating roles of job engagement and cognitive functioning. It aims to clarify how psychological and cognitive resources work together to convert mental health into increased productivity at work. A quantitative research design was employed with 324 employees in 10 manufacturing companies in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The proposed direct, indirect, and sequential effects were tested using SPSS v27 and bootstrapped mediation analysis with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS v24. The findings indicate that mental health has a significant positive direct effect on employee productivity (β = 0.244, p = 0.007) and significantly influences job engagement (β = 0.741, p < 0.001) and cognitive functioning (β = 0.362, p < 0.001). While the indirect effect on productivity through job engagement alone was positive but not statistically significant (β = 0.097, p = 0.207), cognitive functioning significantly mediated this relationship (β = 0.073, p = 0.037). Moreover, a significant sequential mediation pathway was observed (MH → JE → CF → EP; β = 0.068, p = 0.039), demonstrating that job engagement enhances cognitive functioning, which subsequently improves productivity. In order to establish a cohesive framework that links affective and cognitive dynamics, this study combines the ideas of the Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) and the Conservation of Resources (COR). To our knowledge, this is among the few empirical studies from a developing-country context to examine both dual and sequential mediation effects in this relationship.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of brand awareness, brand image, and product quality on customer loyalty toward Lifebuoy soap in the DKI Jakarta area, considering the increasingly competitive personal care market that requires companies to build strong and sustainable relationships with consumers. A quantitative research approach was employed by distributing structured questionnaires to 96 respondents who were selected using customized sampling techniques to ensure relevance to the research objectives. The data collected from the respondents were processed and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis to identify both partial and simultaneous effects of the independent variables on customer loyalty. The findings reveal that brand awareness, brand image, and product quality each have a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty toward Lifebuoy soap, indicating that consumers are more likely to remain loyal when they are familiar with the brand, perceive it positively, and believe that the product delivers consistent quality. Furthermore, the results demonstrate that when these three variables are considered together, they exert a strong combined influence on customer loyalty, highlighting the importance of an integrated branding and quality strategy. Among the variables analyzed, brand image emerged as the most dominant factor affecting customer loyalty, suggesting that consumers’ overall perceptions, associations, and emotional connections with the brand play a crucial role in sustaining long-term loyalty. These findings imply that while brand awareness is important in attracting consumers, it is not sufficient on its own to maintain loyalty unless it is supported by a strong brand image and high product quality. Therefore, companies should prioritize strengthening brand image and maintaining product quality to enhance customer loyalty in the long term.
