Abstract

The practice of ijonis a phenomenon is still common in rural areas, including in Sugih Waras Village, Teluk Gelam District. This system is used by rice farmers to obtain quick funds before the harvest by selling unharvested crops to middlemen at prices lower than the market price. This study aims to analyze the mechanism of the bonded debt system in Sugih Waras Village and examine its compliance with the principles of Islamic economic law. The research method used is a qualitative approach. The results indicate that the ijon system is carried out due to limited capital and difficult access for farmers. From the perspective of Islamic economic law, this practice does not fully meet the requirements of a valid sale and purchase agreement because the object of the transaction (the harvest) is still gharar (unclear quantity and quality) and there are elements of price exploitation that are detrimental to farmers. This study recommends alternative sharia financing such as salam, mudharabah, or musyarakah contracts that are fairer and in accordance with sharia principles. It is hoped that the results of this study can be used as a consideration for the community and policymakers in formulating more equitable agricultural financing solutions.

Abstract

This study aims to identify, review, and analyze the Open Recruitment for the Filling of High-Level Leadership Positions Following the Establishment of the New Autonomous Region of Papua, the inhibiting factors, and the efforts made to overcome these obstacles. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The theory used in this study is Hugo Horta's theory (2014:22), namely Recruitment, Selection, Transparency, and Performance Assessment. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of open recruitment for the filling of Primary High Leadership Positions (JPT) in the South Papua Provincial Government has not been fully optimal. Success has only been seen in the selection and performance assessment dimensions, while in the recruitment and transparency dimensions there are still a number of significant weaknesses. Several factors hindering the implementation of this open recruitment include limited human resources; limited infrastructure and supporting facilities; and high political intervention and the dominance of local interests. To overcome these obstacles, strategic and systematic efforts are needed in line with applicable regulations, including through Improving the Quality and Quantity of Human Resources; Wider Socialization and Dissemination of Information; Overcoming Political Intervention and Group Interests; Utilization of Technology and Digitalization of the Recruitment Process.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of leverage and capital intensity on tax avoidance in companies within the primary consumer goods sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2020–2024 period. The population comprises 98 companies, from which a purposive sampling method was applied based on specific criteria, yielding 25 companies and 121 firm-year observations after excluding outliers. Secondary data were obtained from annual reports published on the IDX’s official platform. Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS, incorporating measurement and structural model assessments to evaluate the proposed hypotheses. The results reveal that leverage has a significant positive effect on tax avoidance, whereas capital intensity shows a negative but insignificant impact. This research enriches the empirical literature on tax avoidance determinants in emerging markets and offers insights for policymakers and corporate governance to design effective strategies in reducing aggressive tax planning practices in the primary consumer goods sector.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Public Service Mall (MPP) in Medan City, North Sumatra Province, focusing on its ability to provide efficient and accessible public services. This study employed qualitative methods with data collection techniques including direct observation, interviews, and document analysis. The data analysis technique employed was thematic analysis. This method was used to evaluate the extent to which the MPP has achieved its objectives and identify factors that hinder its effectiveness, as well as to explore strategies to improve the efficiency of services provided at the Medan City MPP. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the Medan City MPP has, in principle, demonstrated a concept for achieving its objectives, particularly in the aspect of providing public services under one roof that facilitates public access to various services. However, overall effectiveness remains low. This is indicated by the gap between the formulated objectives and actual results in the field. Several indicators, such as service speed, procedural consistency, and integration between agencies, still require significant improvement.

Abstract

Diarrhea remains one of the leading causes of death among infants in Indonesia, especially in areas with limited access to healthcare. Environmental pollution and unhealthy lifestyles are the main causes of its spread. This study aims to compare the performance of the C4.5 and Random Forest algorithms in predicting diarrhea cases among infants in the working area of the Parlilitan Subdistrict Health Center, Humbahas Regency, North Sumatra Province. Secondary data were obtained from medical records and health center reports, which were then analyzed using Python. Model performance evaluation was conducted using the metrics Accuracy, Precision, Recall, F1-Score, Specificity, False Positive Rate (FPR), and True Positive Rate (TPR). The test results showed that the C4.5 algorithm had superior performance with an Accuracy of 0.92; Precision, Recall, and F1-Score of 0.875 each; Specificity of 0.9412; and FPR of 0.0588. Meanwhile, Random Forest obtained an Accuracy of 0.88; Precision of 0.7778; Recall of 0.875; F1-Score of 0.8235; Specificity of 0.8824; and FPR of 0.1176. These findings indicate that C4.5 is more effective in maintaining a balance between prediction accuracy and detection capability, and is better at minimizing classification errors for negative classes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) as a psychological strategy in digital marketing and its impact on consumer behavior. FOMO is a psychological phenomenon characterized by an individual's fear of missing out on valuable experiences or information that others are having, and it has become increasingly relevant in the digital era filled with instant information and social media. FOMO strategies in digital marketing are often implemented through techniques such as limited-time offers, countdown timers, user testimonials, and product exclusivity. This research employs a descriptive-qualitative method with a literature study approach and content analysis of digital campaigns from various brands. The findings indicate that the application of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) strategies in digital marketing effectively increases consumer interest and purchase speed. Consumers are more likely to make immediate purchases when offered promotions with time limits, limited stock, or exclusive services for first buyers. Additionally, positive testimonials and recommendations from previous buyers further strengthen trust and influence purchase decisions. Thus, FOMO strategies have been proven to significantly increase conversion rates and strengthen the relationship between consumers and brands.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of User-Generated Content (UGC) in increasing consumer engagement as well as to identify the opportunities and challenges faced by companies in utilizing it as a digital marketing strategy. UGC refers to content created and shared by consumers, such as product reviews, photos, videos, or testimonials, which has now become an important element in building relationships between brands and consumers. This study uses a descriptive method with observations, interviews, and document analysis related to the research. The results show that User-Generated Content (UGC) is effective in increasing consumer engagement with brands through authentic and participatory content. UGC can expand market reach and build stronger trust compared to traditional marketing content. However, the success of using UGC is also influenced by challenges such as fake reviews, the need for proper content moderation, and protection of users’ personal data. With good moderation strategies and attention to data security, UGC can become a powerful tool to enhance consumer loyalty and interaction in the digital ecosystem.

Abstract

Facilitating the administration of pesantren in accordance with their traditions and unique characteristics is essential. Therefore, the Government of West Java is expected to support and strengthen the role and contribution of pesantren within the province, as stipulated in West Java Provincial Regulation No. 1 of 2021. In Cimahi City, however, not all pesantren have received such facilitation from the government, including Pondok Pesantren Cibereum Kidul. Inadequate facilities reduce the attractiveness of a pesantren compared to other educational institutions. Consequently, pesantren with insufficient facilities tend to lag behind, lose public interest, and experience a decline in service quality for their santri (students). This study aims to: a) Evaluate the policy implementation of West Java Provincial Regulation No. 1 of 2021 concerning pesantren facilitation at Pondok Pesantren Cibereum Kidul, Cimahi. b) Determine whether Pondok Pesantren Cibereum Kidul has received government facilitation support. c) Identify obstacles in implementing the regulation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the student satisfaction of Sejong Korean Academy of Yogyakarta with the EPS-TOPIK Korean language program. This study used a qualitative descriptive method by using questionnaires to obtain research data. Based on the research results, it was found that four indicators of consumer satisfaction, namely, service quality, price, situational factors and personal factors have a positive influence on student satisfaction. Quality of service includes experienced instructors, interactive learning methods, learning materials and adequate learning resources. Affordable price factors match the quality that students expect. Situation factors include flexible learning schedules and strategic institutional locations. Personal factors indicate that the recommendation of relatives or family members is the dominant factor for students’ satisfaction. The study showed that these four indicators of consumer satisfaction affect students’ satisfaction with the Korean language programs they participate in.
