Abstract

Interpersonal Intelligence is an individual's ability and skill to create, build, and maintain social relationships. In the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) courses, students' interpersonal intelligence has not yet developed adequately. This is evidenced by instances where students exhibit a lack of mutual respect for others' opinions during the learning process, passive participation, hesitation to express their views in front of others, shyness, predominance of more capable students during the learning process, lack of cooperation among group members, and insufficient stimuli encouraging students to express their opinions. The Group Investigation type of cooperative learning model involves students throughout the learning process, which can significantly enhance their interpersonal intelligence. This study aims to describe: (1) the profile of students' interpersonal intelligence in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, (2) the application of the Group Investigation cooperative learning model in PAI courses for the 11th-grade students at SMAS Asshiddiqiyah, and (3) the effect of the Group Investigation cooperative learning model on the interpersonal intelligence of students in PAI courses for the 11th-grade students at SMAS Asshiddiqiyah. This research employs a descriptive correlational quantitative method. Data collection techniques include observation, questionnaires distributed to 23 respondents, interviews, and documentation studies. Data processing was conducted through statistical data analysis. The findings indicate that the application of the Group Investigation cooperative learning model scored an average of 4.30, which falls within the 4.01-5.00 interval, categorized as very good. Additionally, the improvement in students' interpersonal intelligence in PAI courses scored an average of 4.14 and 4.30, both falling within the 4.01-5.00 interval, also categorized as very good. Statistical tests reveal that the implementation of the Group Investigation cooperative learning model accounts for 65.61% of the improvement in students' interpersonal intelligence, aligning with the functions and objectives of Islamic Religious Education, while 34.39% is influenced by other factors not included in this study. Abstract

In Islam, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the foremost exemplar in religious life, renowned for his high tolerance towards those with differing and opposing beliefs. This study is motivated by the lack of awareness regarding intolerant behavior towards differing beliefs, which leads to discrimination and radicalism in Indonesia. Consequently, the research aims to offer an understanding of Islamic Education Science as outlined in Surah Al-Mumtahanah verses 7-9 concerning tolerance. The objectives of this study are to describe: (1) the educational values of Surah Al-Mumtahanah verses 7-9 related to tolerance, and (2) the educational values within these verses from the perspective of Islamic Education Science. The research employs a descriptive analysis methodology, specifically through a library research approach. The technique utilized is content analysis, drawing on primary sources such as the Quran and secondary sources including books, journals, and tafsir (Islamic exegesis). The findings of this study reveal two key educational values about tolerance in Surah Al-Mumtahanah: the importance of compassion between Muslims and non-Muslims, and the necessity of acting justly and benevolently towards both Muslim and non-Muslim communities. Abstract

This study is motivated by the observation that some teachers face challenges in their professional competencies, particularly in their proficiency with technology as a teaching medium. As a result, there is a need to enhance these teachers' capabilities through the use of Google Meet as a solution to improve their ability to meet professional teaching standards. The objectives of this research are: (1) To assess the professional competence of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at SMPN 2 Garut. (2) To examine the use of Google Meet as a digital learning medium at SMPN 2 Garut. (3) To evaluate the implications of using Google Meet on the professional competence of teachers at SMPN 2 Garut. This study employs a field-based qualitative research method. The primary data sources include interviews with PAI teachers at SMPN 2 Garut, while secondary data sources comprise books and other literature relevant to this research. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique follows the Miles and Huberman model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings of this research indicate that the use of Google Meet as a digital learning medium positively impacts teachers' professional competencies. A teacher's ability to effectively utilize technology contributes to their qualification as a professional educator. These are the key findings derived from this study. Abstract

Self-confidence is a crucial element for students to develop their potential effectively. However, issues surrounding students' self-confidence often demand significant attention. Indicators of low self-confidence among students include a lack of self-belief, optimism, objectivity, responsibility, and rational as well as realistic thinking. Consequently, these students struggle to harness their full potential. One viable approach to addressing this issue is through the implementation of the "seven-minute lecture" (kultum) activity. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of kultum activities in fostering self-confidence among fifth-grade students at SDIT Assalam Garut Kota. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach. Data collection methods include observations, document analysis, and questionnaires. The research sample consists of 28 fifth-grade students from SDIT Assalam Garut Kota. Data were processed using statistical analysis methods. The results of the study indicate that the effectiveness of the kultum activity is rated with an average score of 3.57, falling within the 3.01-4.00 interval, which is categorized as "Good". This demonstrates that the kultum activities were executed effectively. Furthermore, the development of students' self-confidence was rated with an average score of 4.32, within the 4.01-5.00 interval, categorized as "Very Good". This indicates a significant increase in students' self-confidence following the effective implementation of kultum activities. Statistical tests reveal a significant correlation of 34.3% between participation in kultum activities and the enhancement of students' self-confidence, with other unexamined variables contributing 65.7% to the development of self-confidence.  Keywords: Effectiveness, Kultum Activities, Self-Confidence

Abstract

In the book "Ta’liim al-Muta’allim," teachers are regarded as the most crucial element in the learning process, thus deserving profound respect and adherence. However, excessive reverence can stifle students' critical thinking, fostering intellectual stagnation and a culture of blind conformity (taqlid). Consequently, the interaction between teachers and students becomes imbalanced and skewed. Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) provides a conceptual framework to address these issues by dissecting the ideological and hegemonic power relations that influence students' cognitive and behavioral responses. The objective of this study is to explore the application of Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis to the book "Ta’liim al-Muta’allim" concerning teacher-student interaction. This research is a library study employing a descriptive-analytical method. Data collection was conducted through a literature review, and data analysis was performed using Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis on the primary source, "Ta’liim al-Muta’allim," and secondary sources including books, journals, and other written materials aligned with the research objectives. The findings reveal that the concept of teacher-student interaction in "Ta’liim al-Muta’allim" is doctrinaire, non-democratic, and non-dialogical. This is elucidated through Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis as follows: There is a social disharmony in its semiotic aspect, positioning the teacher excessively above the student. Overcoming this disharmony is hindered because the Kitab Kuning (traditional Islamic text) is often regarded as a finished and ready-to-use product, and its authors are seen as revered figures who must always be esteemed. The existing social order perpetuates this disharmony, benefiting the teacher in terms of social and cultural hierarchy. The way to address this disharmony is by replacing outdated values that are no longer relevant with new values that are considered more appropriate and beneficial. Abstract

Religious literacy involves placing religious literacy practices within the context of ideology and power relations reflected in literacy artifacts (texts). In this study, religious literacy is specifically examined through instructional materials designed to enhance students' understanding in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), particularly in the area of ethics (akhlak). Understanding is defined as students' ability to grasp the literal messages embedded in communication, interpreting theories using their own language. Each student inherently possesses varying levels of comprehension regarding the subject matter presented, especially in PAI ethics. This research aims to determine: The level of students' understanding in the ethics course in the XI MIPA 2 class at SMAN 14 Garut before intervention. The implementation of religious literacy as instructional material in the ethics course in the XI MIPA 2 class at SMAN 14 Garut. The level of students' understanding in the ethics course in the XI MIPA 2 class at SMAN 14 Garut after the intervention. Thus, the study explores the relationship between the use of religious literacy as instructional material and students' comprehension in the ethics course within PAI. The methodology employed in this research is a quantitative experimental approach, gathering data or information on the observed phenomena. Data collection techniques include distributing test questions to 25 respondents, observation, interviews, and document analysis. Data processing is conducted through statistical data analysis. The results indicate a correlation value of 0.70 between the pre-test and post-test scores in student understanding of the ethics material, which falls within the high correlation range of 0.60 to 0.80. The coefficient value suggests that religious literacy impacts 49% of students' understanding in the ethics material in the XI MIPA 2 class at SMAN 14 Garut, while 51% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Additionally, the calculated t-value (4.73) is greater than the t-table value (1.71), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). This means that utilizing religious literacy as instructional material significantly enhances students' comprehension in the PAI ethics course. Abstract

This study is motivated by the challenges faced by students with intellectual disabilities (Tunagrahita) in understanding and retaining educational material due to their limited cognitive abilities. Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) encourages students to connect their knowledge with practical applications in everyday life, thereby engaging them in meaningful activities that reinforce their understanding. This research focuses on the efforts of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers to enhance the psychomotor skills of students with intellectual disabilities through the implementation of the CTL model. The objectives of this research are to describe the strategies employed by PAI teachers in improving the psychomotor abilities of intellectually disabled students by applying the CTL model. The methodology used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The subjects of the research are PAI teachers, and the objects are students with intellectual disabilities (ABK). Data collection techniques include observations, documentation, and interviews with PAI teachers and classroom teachers. The data are analyzed using the Huberman and Milles theoretical framework. The findings of the research are as follows: (1) PAI teachers at SLB Al-Masduqiah have successfully applied the principles and steps of the CTL model in classroom teaching; (2) the main challenges faced by PAI teachers include the students' cognitive limitations in receiving material, the lack of specific teaching materials and textbooks for PAI tailored to students with disabilities, and the absence of standardized evaluation systems for intellectually disabled students; (3) the impact of the CTL model on students' psychomotor skills includes increased student activity, enhanced learning motivation, and improved routine practice of Dhuha prayer, which aligns with the principles of psychomotor domain assessment. Therefore, the study recommends the implementation of the CTL model by PAI teachers in special schools. Abstract

This study is motivated by the observation that students in the 10th-grade Multimedia class at SMK Plus Sukaraja struggle with understanding the material, particularly in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects. The students tend to focus more on vocational subjects that align with their major, leading to a cognitive decline in their learning process for PAI subjects. Additionally, teachers face difficulties managing students who are less focused and inattentive during lessons. To address these challenges, teachers have implemented strategies using a computational thinking approach in the learning process. This research focuses on the use of computational thinking strategies to enhance students' cognitive learning outcomes in the moral (akhlaq) component of the PAI curriculum. The objectives of this study are: (1) To assess the cognitive learning outcomes of students in the moral (akhlaq) component of the PAI subject for the 10th-grade Multimedia class at SMK Plus Sukaraja. (2) To explore the application of computational thinking strategies in the moral (akhlaq) component of the PAI subject at SMK Plus Sukaraja. (3) To evaluate the effectiveness of computational thinking strategies in improving students' cognitive learning outcomes in the moral (akhlaq) component of the PAI subject at SMK Plus Sukaraja. The research employs a field-based descriptive qualitative approach to answer these questions. Data analysis methods include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion or verification. The findings of this research generally conclude that the application of computational thinking strategies can enhance students' cognitive learning outcomes. This is evidenced by increased student engagement in class, with more questions being asked, improved focus during lessons, and enhanced cognitive problem-solving skills as reflected in better evaluation results. Abstract

The study of the Safinatun Naja book has become commonplace in non-formal educational institutions and is increasingly integrated into formal institutions, particularly in local content subjects. At MTs Hubbul Wathan, a formal educational institution, Safinatun Naja has been an integral part of the Fiqh curriculum for the past eight years. This research aims to enhance students' understanding of prayer practices, addressing the observed gaps in their comprehension. To evaluate the effectiveness of incorporating the Safinatun Naja book into local content learning and its impact on students' ability to perform prayers at MTs Hubbul Wathan Cilawu, a comprehensive study is necessary. The objectives of this research are to: (1) Describe the implementation of the local content learning of the Safinatun Naja book at MTs Hubbul Wathan Cilawu, (2) Describe the students' competence in practicing prayers at MTs Hubbul Wathan Cilawu, and (3) Describe the effectiveness of integrating the local content learning of the Safinatun Naja book in enhancing students' ability to perform prayers at MTs Hubbul Wathan Cilawu. This research employs a descriptive analytical qualitative method, supported by data collected through field research. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the integration of the Safinatun Naja book into local content learning at MTs Hubbul Wathan Cilawu has been effectively implemented. This effectiveness is evidenced by several key factors observed during the teaching and learning process: well-organized material, effective communication between teacher and students, mastery and enthusiasm for the subject matter, positive attitudes towards students, fair assessment practices, and measurable student learning outcomes. Abstract

The moral crisis among students, exemplified by drug abuse, bullying, plagiarism, and sexual violence, necessitates ongoing research by Islamic education scholars into religious texts written by prominent scholars. These studies aim to reinforce the conceptual foundations that can be proposed as solutions to these moral issues. The book "Ta’liim Al-Muta’allim" is a key reference rich in religious values that offers a conceptual alternative for addressing contemporary moral problems. The objective of this research is to describe the religious character values found in "Ta’liim Al-Muta’allim" and their implications for character education. This research falls under the category of library research with a descriptive-analytical method. Data collection involved library research followed by content analysis of the readings. The primary data source was the text of "Ta’liim Al-Muta’allim," supplemented by books, journals, and other written sources relevant to the research goals. The findings indicate that "Ta’liim Al-Muta’allim" contains significant religious character values derived from five main themes: the intention in learning, choosing teachers and friends, revering knowledge and scholars, reliance on Allah (tawakkul), and maintaining piety (wara’) during learning. These religious character values promote compassion, tolerance, and the upholding of religious trust among students.
