Abstract

This research was initiated due to concerns regarding the low employability skills among vocational education graduates. A number of contributing factors have been identified, such as limited exposure to industrial field experience, insufficient mental preparedness, and a lack of comprehensive understanding of the professional work environment. The aim of this study is to investigate the extent to which industrial field experience and mental readiness impact employability skills, with the understanding of the world of work serving as a mediating variable. A quantitative research design was employed, utilizing the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method, which is well-suited for analyzing complex relationships among latent variables, particularly when the data does not meet the assumption of normality and involves multiple indicators. The results demonstrate that industrial field experience (PLI), mental preparedness, and understanding of the world of work significantly affect the employability skills of students in the Cosmetology and Beauty Study Program. In addition, the understanding of the world of work was found to significantly mediate the effects of both industrial field experience and mental preparedness on students' employability outcomes

Abstract

This study aims to analyze student perceptions of the effectiveness of evaluation methods used by lecturers in the Reportage and Interview Techniques course in the learning process. Evaluation methods have a crucial role in measuring students' understanding and skills, as well as providing constructive feedback to improve the quality of learning. However, its effectiveness is highly dependent on how the method is perceived by students as the main subject of learning. This research uses a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to students who have taken the Reportage and Interview Techniques course. The data collected will be analyzed descriptively to identify the level of satisfaction, relevance, fairness, and impact of evaluation methods on student learning motivation. The results of the study are expected to provide a comprehensive picture of the strengths and weaknesses of the evaluation methods applied, as well as valuable input for lecturers in developing evaluation strategies that are more effective and in accordance with the needs and characteristics of students. The findings are also expected to contribute to improving the overall quality of the learning process in the Reportage and Interview Techniques course.

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women is a long-term nutritional disorder caused by inadequate energy and protein intake, which may endanger the health of both mother and fetus. CED in pregnant women is indicated by an Upper Arm Circumference (LiLA) of less than 23.5 cm. The Cinta Karya Public Health Center has recorded a relatively high prevalence of CED compared to other health centers in Musi Banyuasin Regency. To determine the factors associated with the incidence of CED among pregnant women in the working area of Cinta Karya Public Health Center, Plakat Tinggi Sub-district, Musi Banyuasin Regency, in 2025. This was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 82 pregnant women were selected using accidental sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and direct LiLA measurements, then analyzed using the Chi-square test with a significance level of p<0.05. The prevalence of CED (LiLA < 23.5 cm) among pregnant women was 31.7%. Significant associations were found between CED and maternal age (p=0.003), pregnancy interval (p=0.002), family income (p=0.002), and knowledge level (p=0.002). The parity variable showed no significant relationship (p=0.399). Maternal age, pregnancy spacing, family income, and knowledge level significantly influence the incidence of CED in pregnant women. Nutritional education and proper pregnancy planning are essential in efforts to prevent CED.

Abstract

The long-term use of eosin can cause carcinogenic effects, meaning it has the potential to induce cancer, and its resulting waste may also pollute the environment. Therefore, there is a need for alternative dyes that are safer and more environmentally friendly. One possible option is natural dyes, such as extracts from the bulbs of Dayak onions (Eleutherine palmifolia). The Dayak onion bulb contains natural pigments from the flavonoid group, which can produce red, orange, blue, and purple hues, making it a potential substitute for synthetic eosin. This study aims to compare the staining quality between natural eosin and synthetic dyes. The method used was experimental, employing Dayak onion bulb extract at concentrations of 2%, 4%, and 6%. The samples tested were feces that were positive for Ascaris lumbricoides eggs. The results showed that staining using Dayak onion bulb extract did not yield optimal results and was considered less effective for examining Ascaris lumbricoides eggs. Thus, the Dayak onion bulb extract cannot yet be used as an alternative to eosin dye in such examinations.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in mathematics learning outcomes between boarding and non-boarding students using the Desmos application at Pondok Pesantren Al Amien. This research uses a comparative quantitative method with a posttest-only design. The subjects consisted of 20 eighth-grade students divided into two groups: 10 boarding and 10 non-boarding students. The instruments used were learning outcome tests and student perception questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the Independent Sample T-Test via SPSS. The results showed a significant difference between the two groups, with non-boarding students scoring higher. This is supported by a significance value of 0.010 (< 0.05). Learning with the Desmos application is proven effective in improving mathematics achievement, especially for students with better access to technology.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has introduced a new paradigm in informatics known as Generative AI. One of the key driving forces behind this innovation is the application of deep learning algorithms, which can emulate human cognitive patterns to automatically generate text, images, audio, and video. This study aims to analyze how deep learning algorithms particularly Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Transformer-based Models (such as GPT and Diffusion Models) are utilized in developing generative AI systems for automated content creation. The research employs a literature review of recent studies, comparative analysis of generative models, and performance evaluation based on quality, creativity, and computational efficiency. The findings reveal that Transformer-based models exhibit greater adaptability in understanding semantic context and producing more realistic content compared to traditional GAN models. However, challenges such as overfitting, data bias, and high computational resource demands remain major obstacles to large-scale implementation. This study concludes that optimizing deep learning algorithms supported by ethical considerations and careful data management will be crucial to the successful development of generative AI that is both effective and responsible within the modern informatics ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the sensory quality, Escherichia coli microbial contamination, and lead (Pb) content in frozen squid (Loligo sp) produced by Queen Seafood in Pasuruan. The method used is descriptive qualitative with laboratory testing of whole frozen squid samples. The testing includes sensory evaluation (ice layer, appearance, aroma, and texture), microbiological testing to detect the presence of E. coli using the APM method, and lead (Pb) contamination testing using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method. The results showed that all sensory quality parameters of frozen squid met the SNI 9192:2023 standard with an average score above the minimum limit. However, Escherichia coli contamination exceeded the maximum threshold set in the SNI, which is suspected to originate from unclean production water sources. The lead (Pb) content was recorded at 0.075 mg/kg, which is still within the safe limit according to the SNI (<1.0 mg/kg). These findings emphasize the importance of water quality monitoring in the production process and the need for additional washing and reprocessing instructions before consumption to ensure the food safety of frozen squid.

Abstract

The SIUBER Information System is a vital instrument in supporting academic activities at universities. However, technical challenges such as unstable access are frequently complained about by users. This study aims to evaluate the quality of the SIUBER website using two approaches: Black Box Testing to validate technical functions and the System Usability Scale (SUS) to measure user satisfaction. Data was collected from 20 active user respondents. Black Box testing results indicated that functional features functioned 100% effectively, but stability issues were found under high access loads. The usability measurement results yielded an average conversion score of 62.5 (Acceptable Category - Grade D). In-depth analysis revealed a disparity: the interface design score was very high (3.89/5), while the stability score was very low (2.63/5). This study concluded that the primary issue with SIUBER was not the interface, but rather the server infrastructure, recommending hardware improvements as a top priority

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has brought significant changes in the digital learning system, especially in higher education. One of the promising applications of AI is a web-based adaptive learning system that is able to adjust the material, methods, and level of learning difficulty according to the characteristics and needs of each student. This research aims to implement Artificial Intelligence in web-based adaptive learning systems and analyze its impact on the effectiveness of student learning. The research method used is a system development method with a user-centered design approach, which includes the stages of needs analysis, system design, implementation of AI algorithms, and system evaluation. The system was developed by utilizing machine learning algorithms to model student learning profiles based on user interaction data. The results of the study show that AI-based adaptive learning systems are able to increase user engagement, learning effectiveness, and student satisfaction with the online learning process. This research is expected to be a reference for the development of a more personalized and data-based digital learning system in the higher education environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the assessment of the company's financial performance using the EVA (Economic Value Added) and MVA (Market Value Added) methods in PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk for the 2021-2024 period. The results show that the company's ability to create economic value is not stable when measured by the EVA method, where in 2021 and 2023 EVA is positive, while in 2022 and 2024 EVA is negative. This shows that there are internal challenges that affect operational efficiency and capital management. Meanwhile, the company's MVA has been positive from 2021 to 2023 and increased in 2024, indicating that market perception of the company's outlook remains good. Overall, the study concludes that although Indofood faces internal dynamics that affect its economic performance in a volatile manner, the market still gives a positive appreciation. The fluctuations of EVA reflect the company's need to improve the consistency of economic value creation, while the high MVA confirms that investor confidence in the company's growth potential and long-term strategy remains strong and stable.
