Abstract

Guidance and Counseling (BK) plays a crucial role in supporting individuals’ optimal development across academic, social, personal, and career aspects. The effectiveness of counseling services relies heavily on two key elements: ethics and counselor competence. Ethics serve as a moral framework that ensures integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in the counseling relationship, while competence reflects the counselor’s knowledge, skills, and professional attitude in managing various client issues. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach, aiming to examine the interrelation between ethics and competence in counseling practice. The findings highlight that integrating ethical principles with professional competence is essential in establishing effective, safe, and client-centered counseling services. Counselors are expected to continuously enhance their capabilities through ongoing education, training, and updated ethical understanding aligned with technological and societal developments.

Abstract

Abstract

Guidance and counseling (BK) services strategically support students’ personal, social, academic, and career development, particularly in Vocational High Schools (SMK). The need for these services is becoming increasingly urgent given the complexity of challenges SMK students face during their educational journey and transition into the workforce. This study examines the implementation of BK services at SMK Negeri 1 Padang Laweh, focusing on four key aspects: program execution, student participation, service methods, and encountered obstacles. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with school counselors, the principal, and student representatives and document analysis of the school's existing BK program. The results indicate that BK services have been carried out through various activities, such as essential services, individual counseling, and classroom guidance. However, the implementation remains suboptimal due to limited student participation, a lack of varied methods, and several significant challenges, including a shortage of BK personnel, inadequate infrastructure, and students’ limited understanding of the function of BK services. These findings highlight the need to improve the quality of BK service implementation through training, strengthened policy support, and more representative facilities to ensure that BK functions can be carried out more effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

The phenomenon of boycott campaigns against certain products and brands in Indonesia, particularly in the context of the Palestine-Israel conflict, reflects the significant role of propaganda in shaping public opinion. This study aims to examine how propaganda serves as both a tool for building collective awareness and a medium for ideological manipulation in society. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research analyzes boycott narratives disseminated through online and social media platforms. The findings reveal that propaganda operates effectively through media framing, moral authority, and the exploitation of collective emotions such as anger and empathy. Nevertheless, it also indicates the presence of hegemonic processes infiltrating public discourse, potentially oversimplifying complex issues into dangerous moral dichotomies. This study highlights the urgency of media literacy and critical awareness towards boycott narratives to prevent society from being trapped in manipulative information flows. Propaganda, in this regard, functions as both a means of constructing consciousness and an ideological instrument that must be critically addressed within Indonesia’s digital public sphere.

Abstract

Bilingual education is an approach that is increasingly being implemented in primary schools to meet the challenges of globalization. This article comprehensively discusses resource planning in bilingual learning, covering three main aspects: teachers, students, and facilities and infrastructure. Teachers as the spearhead of education are required to have competence in two languages. Students need to be supported in developing bilingual skills through appropriate curriculum approaches and learning environments. Infrastructure facilities such as learning media, technology and classrooms must also be prepared optimally. With integrated and systematic planning, bilingual education can be implemented effectively and support the development of students’ global competencies.

Abstract

In today’s digital era, legal literacy among young people remains relatively low, despite the increasing accessibility of digital media. This article aims to analyze how podcasts can serve as an effective medium for legal literacy, particularly in promoting awareness of national defense values. This study adopts a qualitative method with a content analysis approach. The data source is taken from the podcast episode on the Endgame YouTube channel featuring Prof. Mahfud MD as a guest speaker. Data collection was conducted through a listening and note-taking technique to identify key legal and national messages conveyed in the podcast. The results show that podcasts are capable of delivering legal and national issues with a casual yet substantial communication style, making the content more accessible and relevant to young audiences. Moreover, podcasts encourage listeners to think critically, participate actively, and foster a sense of justice and legal awareness. Therefore, podcasts have the potential to serve as alternative media for enhancing legal literacy and strengthening national defense consciousness in the digital era.

Abstract

The phenomenon of broken homes in Indonesia shows an increasingly complex tendency. Not only caused by divorce, broken home conditions can also arise due to disharmony in family relationships, domestic violence, emotional neglect, and dysfunction of parental roles. This situation has a serious impact on children’s psychosocial development, especially in terms of the formation of self-esteem and the ability to manage positive emotions. This article aims to examine the role of online communities as safe spaces in strengthening self-esteem and positive emotions of broken home children through a community counseling approach. The focus of the discussion includes the dynamics of emotional needs of broken home children, characteristics of supportive online communities, and community-based counseling strategies in a digital context. The method used in this study is a literature review. The results of the study show that online communities that have the principles of inclusivity, empathy, and openness can be an effective means of meeting the emotional support needs of broken home children. Positive interactions in the community contribute to strengthening self-esteem and the development of positive emotions, such as feeling safe, accepted, and appreciated. Broken home communities in the digital realm, as carried out by Behome.id through programs such as Jumat Sambat, Teman Curhat (ManCur), DIALOG (Diskusi Sama Psikolog), These programs play an important role in facilitating open discussions, self-reflection, and empowering members to overcome emotional trauma, and strengthen social support among broken home teenagers. The conclusion of this study shows that well-managed online communities have the potential to become strategic safe spaces to support the psychological development of broken home children and expand the scope of community counseling practices in the digital era.

Abstract

Zakat in Islam is not only a spiritual obligation but also a crucial instrument for the fair distribution of wealth within society. Amid ongoing social and economic disparities in various regions, zakat serves as a bridge between the wealthy and the poor to create social balance. This study aims to examine the concept of zakat as a tool for wealth distribution through a qualitative approach based on literature review. By analyzing various sources from three primary journals, this research highlights the role of zakat in reducing poverty, promoting social justice, and supporting national fiscal policy. The findings indicate that zakat is effective in improving community welfare if managed professionally and transparently. However, challenges remain, including low public trust in zakat management institutions, weak regulatory frameworks, and limited public literacy on productive zakat. With strengthened fiscal policies and the integration of a modern zakat management system, the potential of zakat in wealth distribution can be maximized.

Abstract

Disagreement or differing opinions is an inseparable part of the intellectual dynamics in Islam, which has been recognized and respected as a blessing from the very beginning. Although disagreement has the potential to enrich religious understanding and broaden theological perspectives, in certain social and political contexts, these differences are often exploited for radical purposes that can foster extremism and division among Muslims. In this journal, the author analyzes how disagreement, which should serve as a means to develop inclusive and moderate thinking, can be misused as a gateway to the radicalization of thought and violence. By referring to the fundamental principles of the Quran , Hadith, and qiyas,  this article aims to reveal a theological framework that can help Muslims understand and manage differences wisely. Furthermore, this journal also provides a practical approach that can be applied by scholars and the general public to prevent radicalization that comes from ikhtilaf by prioritizing the values of moderation (tawasuth) and tolerance (tasamuh) in accordance with Islamic teachings. Through a deeper understanding of ikhtilaf, it is hoped that Muslims can maintain unity and harmony without sacrificing freedom of opinion in a constructive framework.

Abstract

Interpersonal intelligence in early childhood is important to support children’s ability to socialize, cooperate, and build healthy social relationships. This type of intelligence is not innate but can be developed through early stimulation, especially by teachers in educational environments. This study uses a literature review method to examine the role of teachers in developing children’s interpersonal intelligence. The findings show that teachers can stimulate children’s interpersonal intelligence through social activities, empathy learning, communication development, positive reinforcement, and collaboration with parents.
