Abstract

This article aims to examine the effectiveness of the Mathematical Intelligence Stick media in improving the ability of addition operations with the storage technique in dyscalculic students. This study uses a quantitative approach with the Single Subject Research (SSR) method through an A–B–A design. Data collection was carried out using a performance test given at each research session, in the form of ten addition problems with the storage technique adjusted to the students' abilities. The data obtained were analyzed using visual graphic analysis by paying attention to changes in ability levels, directional trends, and data stability in each condition. The results showed that in the baseline condition (A1) the students' abilities were at 0%. After being given an intervention using the Mathematical Intelligence Stick media in the intervention condition (B), the students' abilities increased significantly from 70% to 100%. In the baseline condition (A2), the students' abilities remained in the range of 90%–100%. These findings indicate that the Mathematical Intelligence Stick media is effective in improving the ability of addition operations with the storage technique in dyscalculic students.

Abstract

Students' problem-solving ability on integer arithmetic operations is still relatively low, one of the causes is the uniform learning and lack of attention to the differences in students' learning needs. This study aims to determine the effect of differentiated learning assisted by a number line board on the problem-solving ability of seventh-grade students on integer arithmetic operations at SMP Negeri 08 Satap Simpang Hulu. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a non-equivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. Data were collected through essay tests compiled based on Polya's problem-solving indicators. Data analysis was carried out through analysis prerequisite tests, independent t-tests, and effect size calculations. The results showed a significant difference between the problem-solving abilities of students in the experimental class and the control class with a significance value of 0.001 (<0.05). The average posttest score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class. In addition, the effect size value of 0.915 indicated a large influence. These findings confirm that differentiated learning assisted by a number line board is effective and practically meaningful in improving students' problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students' learning outcomes through the implementation of the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach. The study employed qualitative and quantitative approaches using Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in three cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 27 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and learning outcome tests using Deep Learning Lesson Plan observation sheets, teacher and student activity observation sheets, and evaluation questions. Qualitative analysis described the learning process, while quantitative analysis measured improvements based on average scores and mastery percentages. The findings showed improvements in all aspects. The RPM implementation score increased from 81.25% to 89.59% and 95.83%. Teacher and student activity scores improved from 82.14% to 91.08% and 96.43%. The average learning outcome score increased from 70.68 to 81.41 and 95.87. Therefore, the implementation of the PMRI approach effectively improved the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the habituation of singing the national anthem in strengthening students' nationalism at SDN 1 Penjor and identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The research subjects consisted of teachers and students of SDN 1 Penjor. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, while data validity was tested using source and technique triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the habituation of singing the national anthem before learning can strengthen students' nationalism, which is reflected in an increase in love for the homeland, discipline, responsibility, respect for state symbols and ethics, and a growing sense of togetherness and unity among students. Supporting factors for the implementation of the activity include school support, cooperation between teachers, a conducive school environment, availability of facilities, and student enthusiasm. Inhibiting factors include weather conditions, internet network disruptions, lack of concentration among some students, and the continued lack of confidence in singing the national anthem.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education approach on the mathematical representation ability of eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Banuhampu. The study used a pre-experimental method with a Static Group Comparison Design. The study population was all eighth-grade students consisting of nine classes. The sample was selected through a random sampling technique after conducting normality tests, homogeneity of variance, and equality of means, resulting in class VIII.7 as the experimental class and class VIII.9 as the control class. The experimental class was given learning using the Realistic Mathematics Education approach, while the control class used conventional learning. The research instrument was a mathematical representation ability test given after the treatment. Data were analyzed using the t-test after fulfilling the prerequisite tests for normality and homogeneity. The results showed that the average mathematical representation ability of students in the experimental class was higher than the control class. The results of the t-test and the P-value obtained showed that the difference was statistically significant. Thus, it can be concluded that the Realistic Mathematics Education approach has a significant effect on improving the mathematical representation ability of eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Banuhampu

Abstract

The low level of student engagement in Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) learning indicates the need for innovative learning media that are appropriate to the characteristics of the digital generation. Learning that is still dominated by non-interactive media tends to be less able to encourage active participation and focus on student learning. This study aims to develop an adventure educational game based on the Zep Quiz digital platform on the sub-material of Threats, Challenges, Obstacles, and Disturbances (ATHG) in the material of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) for grade XI high school students that meets the criteria of validity and practicality. The study uses a Research and Development approach with a 4D development model that includes the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The research subjects consisted of 35 grade XI students of SMAN 4 Pariaman. Data were collected through validation sheets from material and media experts, as well as student practicality questionnaires using a Likert scale. The data analysis technique was carried out descriptively quantitatively by calculating the percentage of the product's validity and practicality levels. The results of the study indicate that the developed educational game has a very valid level of material and media validity, and a very practical level among students. These findings indicate that the Zep Quiz-based educational game is suitable for use as a supplementary learning medium to increase student engagement in PPKn learning in high school.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through the STAD Cooperative model assisted by Canva in Pancasila Education learning for fourth graders at SDN 17 Batu Gadang, Padang City. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles with stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 26 fourth grade students, totaling 12 boys and 14 girls. Research data were collected through test and non-test techniques. The test instruments were in the form of essay and multiple-choice questions, while the non-test instruments included attitude and skill assessment rubrics, observation sheets for teacher and student activities, and documentation. Data were analyzed quantitatively using percentages for learning activities and RPPM, as well as analysis of averages and completeness of student learning outcomes, while qualitative data from observation results were used to strengthen the interpretation of the results in each cycle. The results of the study showed an increase in all aspects, namely teacher activity increased from 89.25% in cycle I to 96.4% in cycle II, student activity from 87.45% to 96.4%, and RPPM from 89.55% to 95.8%. Student learning outcomes also increased from an average of 62% in the first meeting of cycle I to 75.6% in the second meeting, and reached 91.2% in cycle II. Thus, the STAD Cooperative model assisted by Canva is effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low skills of writing explanatory texts of fifth-grade students of SDN 12 Padang Besi caused by difficulties in developing ideas and teacher-centered learning. This study aims to improve explanatory text writing skills through the implementation of the Think Talk Write cooperative learning model. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research with qualitative and quantitative approaches carried out in two cycles through the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of a teacher and 19 fifth-grade students of SDN 12 Padang Besi. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation with instruments in the form of RPPM observation sheets, teacher and student activity sheets, and an assessment rubric for explanatory text writing skills. Qualitative data were analyzed descriptively to describe the learning process, while quantitative data were analyzed using percentages to determine the improvement in learning outcomes. The results of the study showed an improvement in the quality of learning planning, teacher and student activities, and explanatory text writing skills. Thus, the application of the Think Talk Write model has proven effective in improving the explanatory text writing skills of fifth-grade students of SDN 12 Padang Besi, Padang City.

Abstract

Elementary school students' reading comprehension ability in descriptive text learning is still relatively low, especially in the reorganization and inferential aspects. This study aims to improve the reading comprehension ability of fourth grade students through the application of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model. The study used Classroom Action Research with qualitative and quantitative approaches implemented in two cycles and three meetings through the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The study was conducted at SDN 05 Tarok Dipo, Bukittinggi City with one teacher and 27 fourth grade students as subjects. Data collection was carried out through observation, reading comprehension tests, and documentation. Qualitative data were analyzed by reviewing the results of observations of teacher and student activities to see changes in the learning process, while quantitative data were analyzed using percentage techniques to determine the increase in learning outcomes in each cycle. The results showed an increase in the quality of learning planning and teacher and student activeness. Students' reading comprehension ability at the reorganization level increased from 77% to 92%, while inferential ability increased from 55% to 87%. Thus, the application of the CIRC model has proven effective in improving fourth grade students' reading comprehension ability in descriptive text learning.

Abstract

Vocabulary mastery is an important element in Arabic language learning, but second-grade students of Salafiyyah Ula Tahfizh Ummul Quro still have difficulty remembering the vocabulary they have learned so that their learning outcomes are not optimal. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the drill method in improving students' mastery of Arabic vocabulary. The study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The research subjects were 19 students. Data collection techniques were carried out through pretest and posttest vocabulary mastery tests. Data were analyzed using validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, Wilcoxon Signed Rank Tests to test differences in learning outcomes before and after treatment, and N-Gain analysis to determine the level of improvement in learning outcomes. The results showed that the average score of students increased from 57.37 in the pretest to 91.00 in the posttest. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), which means there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results. The N-Gain analysis obtained an average score of 0.7488, which is considered high, with an effectiveness percentage of 74.88%. This finding indicates that the drill method is effective in improving students' mastery of Arabic vocabulary through repeated and targeted practice.
