Scope The BEduManagers Journal : Borneo Educational Management and Research Jornal provides those interested in the effective management of the educational process with a broad overview of developments and best practice in the field, with particular reference to how new ideas can be applied in the educational environment and worldwide. Educational management refers to the administration of the education system in which a group combines human and material resources to supervise, plan, strategies, and implement structures to execute an education system. The education system is an ecosystem of professionals in educational institutions, such as government ministries, unions, statutory boards, agencies, and schools. As the whole structure and philosophy of education goes through a sea-change, and as budgets are cut, educational managers need to keep abreast of new developments in order to maximize their resources and determine the most appropriate management strategy for their institution.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze students' understanding of research methods in preparing their final assignments in the Research Methodology course. Data collected from 80 final semester students from 2 study programs at the BontangCollege of Industrial Engineering, who were or had completed the Research Methodology course, were used in this research to evaluate students' understanding of research methods in preparing final course assignments. The research results show that students generally understand research methods well. However, theoretical concepts are still difficult touse when preparing a final assignment. In addition, differences were seen in the understanding of students from various study programs, students from study programs that were more familiar with quantitative research tended to have better understanding. These results have significant consequences for the teaching of Research Methodology courses, including the need to increase practical learning about engineering.

Abstract

By critically thinking, individuals are capable of analyzing anything around them. This can occur when an individual has applied critical literacy in their life. Literacy also impacts the environment, which can be implemented through knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors. If students, especially those from Bontang City, can think critically and apply environmental literacy, then the ecological conditions of Bontang City will improve. This research aims to describe the extent of the influence of critical thinking and ecological literacy abilities of Bontang City students on the environmental conditions of Bontang City through Indonesian language lectures. This research was conducted using a qualitative method in the form of library research that uses books and other literature as objects. The results of this research indicate the extent of the influence of students on the environmental conditions of Bontang City through critical thinking and literacy abilities. If students' critical thinking and ecological literacy abilities are good, then the environmental conditions will be preserved.

Abstract

In an increasingly competitive digital era, digital business strategies with digital marketing are key to increasing company competitiveness and sustainable innovation. Companies must be able to utilize digital platforms and media effectively to reach a wider range of consumers and build closer relationships with consumers. This study aims to identify digital business strategies with digital marketing that are effective in increasing company competitiveness and sustainable innovation. This study uses a literature review method to collect and analyze various literature related to effective digital marketing strategies. Digital marketing has become a key element in digital business strategies, namely by: 1. Utilizing digital platforms and media, 2. collaborating with other companies and influencers to reach consumers effectively, 3. Dividing digital marketing based on the type of social media, 4. Creating digital content, 5. Analyzing consumer data with AI and Machine Learning, 6. Optimizing the company's website. By understanding the latest trends and technologies in digital marketing, companies can develop strategies that are more focused and responsive to rapid changes in the business environment. Overall, this study shows that digital business strategies with effective digital marketing in increasing competitiveness and sustainable innovation can provide significant results for companies in the digital era.

Abstract

This study focused on determining the effectiveness of Quizizz as digital application for evaluating students’ learning at STMIK Widya Cipta Dharma in the Informatics Engineering study program in the first semester of the 2024/2025. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The sample in this study were 47 first semester students of Informatics Engineering study program. Data collection methods used descriptive observation and online questionnaire distribution in the form of GoogleForm. The results of this research show an increase in effectiveness when using the Quizizz digital application compared to the conventional system with the average score results of all students above 142% “strongly agree”. The challenges in using the Quizizz digital application are based on unstable internet connection and students’ readiness in preparing their fully-charged cellphones during the learning process until the learning evaluation session ended

Abstract

Peran motivasi belajar dan kedisiplinan belajar sebagai faktor internal yang berpengaruh pada kinerja akademik penting yang dimiliki siswa khususnya dalam implementasi pada pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi belajar dan kedisiplinan belajar terhadap kepuasan belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran ekonomi. Penelitian menggunakan analisis pendekatan kuantitatif dengan regresi linier berganda, dengan sampel 60 siswa yang memilih mata pelajaran ekonomi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi dan kuesioner. Hasil uji f diperoleh nilai Fhitung = 18,498 > Ftabel 3,16, dengan signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 maka disimpulkan motivasi belajar dan kedisiplinan belajar secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap variabel kepuasan belajar siswa. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji koefisien determinasi (R2) diperoleh nilai R square sebesar 0,394 artinya motivasi belajar dan kedisiplinan belajar berpengaruh sebesar 39,4% terhadap kepuasan belajar. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa motivasi belajar dan kedisiplinan belajar memiliki hubungan yang erat dalam menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih positif dan meningkatkan kepuasan siswa dalam pembelajaran ekonomi.

Abstract

Effective financial management is vital for private universities in ensuring operational sustainability and improving the quality of education. However, many private universities, especially those located in areas far from large cities, face major challenges in managing their sources of income. Based on previous research, there is still a gap in understanding in depth how to calculate and manage sources of income in private universities, especially in the local context. This study aims to identify and analyse sources of income, mechanisms for managing and calculating income, and challenges faced by STAI Sangatta East Kutai in optimising income. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach, through interviews and document analysis. The main findings of this study indicate that financial management at STAI Sangatta East Kutai shows significant challenges, especially related to sudden needs that are not planned in the Budget and Cost Plan and initial budget limitations. To overcome these obstacles, STAIS has implemented various innovative solutions, such as optimising temporary funds, returning the budget after the next disbursement, and prioritising programs with spending efficiency. In addition, strategic steps such as strengthening relations with local governments, increasing the efficiency of fund management, and developing independent income strategies through flagship programs have contributed to the sustainability of the institution's operations. This adaptive and strategic approach not only strengthens the financial stability of STAI Sangatta East Kutai but also becomes a relevant management model for similar institutions facing higher education financing dynamics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana peran lingkungan Sekolah dalam pembentukkan Sikap Sosial Anak Usia Dini. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kepala sekolah dan guru sentra masing-masing. Dari hasil penelitian ini yaitu peran lingkungan sekolah dalam membentuk sikap anak melalui peran kepala sekolah dan guru yang ada di TK Anak Bangsa, bagaimana kepala sekolah dan guru mencerminkan pembiasaan, kepedulian, kemandirian, kedisiplinan, dan berahlak mulia sebagaimana dengan visi yang ada. Serta perencanaan progam kegiatan yang membentuk sikap sosial anak seperti, program perencanaan pembelajaran, strategi pembelajaran guru, dan sikap manajerial kepala sekolah. Sehingga dampak penelitian ini sangat pengaruh bagi peneliti untuk kedepannya dalam dunia pendidik bagaimana membangun sikap sosial yang baik terutama kepada peserta didik.

Abstract

Prediksi prestasi akademik siswa berbasis data menjadi keperluan strategis dalam manajemen pendidikan modern. Studi ini mengkaji efektivitas dua model Machine Learning—Support Vector Machine (SVM) dan Random Forest—dalam memprediksi capaian akademik peserta didik SMA Negeri menggunakan data sintetis yang menyerupai data riil sekolah. Dataset dikembangkan dari tiga variabel utama: nilai semester, tingkat kehadiran, dan latar belakang sosial ekonomi. Model diuji menggunakan validasi silang lima lipat dan dievaluasi melalui metrik akurasi, presisi, recall, serta F1-score. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Random Forest lebih stabil dan unggul secara akurasi dibandingkan SVM dalam konteks data multidimensi non-linier. Studi ini menunjukkan potensi integrasi sistem prediktif ke dalam praktik manajerial sekolah untuk mendukung pengambilan keputusan berbasis data yang lebih akurat dan preventif terhadap kegagalan akademik.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi digital saat ini membuka peluang besar dalam transformasi dan inovasi manajemen pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan dan menguji sistem pendukung keputusan berbasis kecerdasan buatan yang mampu menganalisis dan mengolah data akademik serta administratif secara real-time untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi pengambilan keputusan di institusi pendidikan. Data yang dianalisis meliputi kinerja akademik, tingkat kehadiran, serta informasi administratif siswa. Metode penelitian menggunakan validasi silang lima lipat untuk menguji performa sistem berdasarkan kecepatan pengambilan keputusan dan akurasi prediksi masalah akademik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kecepatan pengambilan keputusan hingga 30% dan akurasi prediksi mencapai 85%. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa penerapan teknologi kecerdasan buatan dapat mempercepat proses pengambilan keputusan sekaligus meningkatkan ketepatan strategi manajemen pendidikan, sehingga mendukung terciptanya sistem pendidikan yang lebih adaptif, responsif, dan berkualitas.

Abstract

Penjadwalan ujian akhir semester (UAS) merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam manajemen akademik yang memerlukan perencanaan yang efisien dan minim konflik. Dalam penelitian ini, diterapkan metode pewarnaan graf menggunakan algoritma Welch-Powell untuk menyusun jadwal UAS pada Program Studi Bisnis Digital. Setiap mata kuliah direpresentasikan sebagai simpul (vertex), sedangkan konflik antara dua mata kuliah—jika memiliki mahasiswa yang sama—direpresentasikan sebagai sisi (edge) pada graf. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meminimalkan jumlah slot waktu ujian yang dibutuhkan tanpa adanya benturan jadwal bagi mahasiswa. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan bahwa algoritma Welch-Powell mampu menghasilkan jadwal yang optimal dengan efisiensi tinggi dalam alokasi waktu ujian. Pendekatan ini dapat menjadi solusi praktis dan terstruktur dalam pengelolaan penjadwalan ujian yang kompleks.
