Scope The BEduManagers Journal : Borneo Educational Management and Research Jornal provides those interested in the effective management of the educational process with a broad overview of developments and best practice in the field, with particular reference to how new ideas can be applied in the educational environment and worldwide. Educational management refers to the administration of the education system in which a group combines human and material resources to supervise, plan, strategies, and implement structures to execute an education system. The education system is an ecosystem of professionals in educational institutions, such as government ministries, unions, statutory boards, agencies, and schools. As the whole structure and philosophy of education goes through a sea-change, and as budgets are cut, educational managers need to keep abreast of new developments in order to maximize their resources and determine the most appropriate management strategy for their institution.

Abstract

Lack of management of PKBM institutions makes some people less enthusiastic in participating in the implementation of the program. PKBM as an institution, forum, and place for community learning needs services. Entrepreneurship encourages community enthusiasm in learning. The objectives developed are to study and describe the management of life skills education programs in student independence at PKBM Handayani Bojonegoro. This study uses a qualitative approach with a survey. Data collection techniques, using in-depth interviews, participatory observation and documentation. The subjects of the study were managers, tutors, and students. Using qualitative analysis techniques with data reduction steps, data display, data verification for drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the development of the PKBM program followed the following steps: identifying learning needs, determining learning priorities, involving community leaders in preparing program planning, considering local potential and local wisdom; and entrepreneurship-based empowerment programs at PKBM, preparing programs that produce superior products for program sustainability, managers working professionally to make PKBM independent in each program, and opening networks with business partners for marketing superior products.

Abstract

This study explores how the values of Pancasila are implemented in STTI Bontang in the digital era. Using a multiple-case study approach, we conducted online interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. The results indicate that Pancasila values are reflected in campus life, supported by digital technology such as social media and online learning. Changes are evident in the academic atmosphere and campus technology. In conclusion, STTI Bontang has successfully integrated Pancasila into the digital campus culture, creating a collaborative and innovative environment. The findings emphasize the importance of national values in higher education in the digital era.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji strategi manajemen pendidikan di tiga jenjang utama—pendidikan dasar, menengah, dan perguruan tinggi—dalam rangka meningkatkan mutu dan efektivitas layanan pendidikan di Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif, studi ini mengeksplorasi kebijakan, tata kelola, peran kepemimpinan, dan keterlibatan pemangku kepentingan pada masing-masing jenjang pendidikan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa setiap level pendidikan memiliki tantangan dan strategi manajemen yang berbeda namun saling berkaitan. Perencanaan berbasis data, kolaborasi dengan masyarakat, dan penguatan kapasitas guru dan dosen menjadi kunci keberhasilan manajemen di ketiga jenjang tersebut. Implikasi hasil penelitian ini mendorong perumusan kebijakan pendidikan yang lebih terintegrasi dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Global competition among educational institutions demands marketing strategies that rely not only on formal promotional efforts but also on the communication competence of human resources (HR). Lecturers, administrative staff, and public relations personnel play a pivotal role as the frontliners in conveying the institution’s values, both directly and through digital media. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design at a private university in East Kalimantan. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation of promotional activities, and documentation of institutional communication content. The analysis was conducted through data reduction, thematic categorization, and source triangulation. Three main aspects were identified as significant contributions of communication competence to institutional marketing strategies: (1) Effective interpersonal communication (85%) contributes to strengthening student loyalty and attracting prospective students; (2) Adaptive digital communication (78%) expands information outreach and enhances the institution’s reputation through social media, email marketing, and promotional videos; (3) Internal branding through communicative services (73%) shapes a positive public perception of the institution’s quality and work culture. Communication competence of educational HR plays a strategic role in shaping the institution’s image and competitiveness. Therefore, developing interpersonal and digital communication soft skills must be integrated into educational HR management policies in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Fine motor skills are an important factor in early childhood development, based on the identification of problems in Kindergarten 01 Kota Bangun, it was found that there were several identified problems, especially in fine motor skills, which were indicated by indicators of skills in using fingers, eye and hand coordination, distinguishing shapes and images, and assembling puzzles that had not been achieved. This study is a classroom action research. This study aims to improve the fine motor skills of children aged 5–6 years through puzzle media in Kindergarten 01 Kota Bangun. The formulation of the problem in this study is how to improve the fine motor skills of children aged 5–6 years through educational puzzle games in Kindergarten 01 Kota Bangun. Fine motor skills involve coordination between the brain, eyes and hands and require appropriate stimulation to develop optimally. The subjects used by the researcher were 10 children, 6 boys and 4 girls. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, documentation and interviews. After conducting research through educational puzzle games, the results of cycle I were 68% and in cycle II it increased to 96% and had met the criteria for achieving success of 80% of the number of children in Kindergarten 01 Kota Bangun. Based on the results obtained in the study, it was proven that through educational puzzle games, children's fine motor skills could be improved.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are as follows: 1) To determine the language development of children aged 5-6 years at Ar-Rahman Kindergarten (TK) Samarinda. 2) To determine whether role-playing can improve the language development of children aged 5-6 years at Ar-Rahman Kindergarten (TK) Samarinda. This study employed qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The conclusion of this study is that the language development of children aged 5-6 years at Ar-Rahman Kindergarten (TK) Samarinda is still not optimal in terms of expressive language development. Therefore, stimulation is needed to improve children's language development, namely through role-playing methods. By achieving learning objectives that align with the indicators of expressive language development in children aged 5-6 years, this study has demonstrated that role-playing methods can improve the language development of children aged 5-6 years at Ar-Rahman Kindergarten (TK) Samarinda.

Abstract

The aim of this research is (1) To find out the strategies teachers can use to stimulate the language development of children aged 5-6 years at the Subulussalam Integrated Islamic Kindergarten, (2) To find out what supports and inhibits the language development of children aged 5-6 years at the Subulussalam Integrated Islamic Kindergarten. The method used is descriptive qualitative research, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews and documentation used to present data and draw conclusions. The results of this study are that using the storytelling method with finger puppets as a medium can attract children's interest by actively participating, and the teacher acts as a facilitator. The conclusion from the results of this study is that language development in children aged 5-6 years at the Subulussalam Integrated Islamic Kindergarten is still not optimal in receptive language development. So it is necessary to have stimulation to improve children's language development, namely by using the storytelling method. Supporting factors for children's language development include frequently inviting children to talk and finger puppet materials that are easy to obtain. The obstacle is that parents pay less attention to their children and children lack focus. Through the storytelling method using finger puppets, by achieving learning objectives that are in accordance with the indicators of receptive language development in children aged 5-6 years, this study has shown that the storytelling method can improve the language development of children aged 5-6 years at the Subulussalam Integrated Islamic Kindergarten.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the application of traditional engklek games to improve gross motor skills (body balance) of children aged 5-6 years at Keledang Harapan Baru Kindergarten. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a flow of activities, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection in each cycle. The subjects of the study were children aged 5-6 years, 6 girls and 9 boys. The data analysis techniques used in this study are qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Qualitative data analysis is carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Quantitative data analysis is comparing the results obtained from pre-observation, first cycle and second cycle. The results of this study show that in the pre-cycle, an average percentage of success achievement was obtained of 32%, of which 10 children have not yet appeared and 5children have appeared only a small part with guidance. Based on the results of the research in the first cycle, the averagepercentage of success achievement was 44%, of which 9 children appeared mostly and 6 children appeared only a small part andin the second cycle it increased to 90% and met the criteria of success achievement of 80%. The conclusion of this study is that by using the traditional game media engklek can improve the gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years in Keledang Kindergartenwith very good development criteria, because the criteria for developing very well that exceed the criteria for achieving success, the research is considered successful.

Abstract

Improving the quality of midwifery education is essential to ensure competent graduates capable of contributing to the reduction of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. This study aims to review the challenges and strategies for strengthening the quality of vocational midwifery education through a narrative review of 14 national and international articles. Using a thematic analysis approach, the literature was synthesized to identify key issues affecting educational quality. The findings indicate several major challenges, including variations in lecturer and clinical preceptor competencies, limited laboratory and clinical learning facilities, theory–practice gaps, inconsistent implementation of internal quality assurance, and difficulties in applying competency-based curricula. Strategies for improving quality include strengthening QA and PDSA cycles, implementing ISO 9001:2015, optimizing simulation-based learning, enhancing educator capacity, and integrating interprofessional collaboration competencies. This review highlights the need for systemic and continuous efforts to improve the quality of midwifery education in Poltekkes.

Abstract

This study analyses the role of the Bontang City Manpower Office (Disnaker) as a facilitator and coordinator in increasing the absorption capacity of local industries for senior high school/vocational school graduates. The main issues are the skills gap and high open unemployment rate among young graduates, especially in cities with large industrial sectors such as Bontang. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data obtained through in-depth interviews with Disnaker, industry representatives (including large companies), and school management, as well as analysis of documents related to training and manpower placement work programmes. The main focus was on the implementation of the Special Job Exchange (BKK), Competency-Based Training (PBK), and apprenticeship programmes facilitated by the Manpower Office. The results of the study show that the Bontang City Manpower Office has played an active role in three main functions: (1) Regulator, through the issuance of local regulations on training; (2) Facilitator, by providing Job Fair and PBK facilities that are aligned with industry needs; and (3) Coordinator, bringing together industry, educational institutions and job seekers.
