Abstract

Teachers have shown their important role in building the Indonesian nation. Movements to educate the nation and fight the domination of the colonial education system have been carried out and initiated by the father of national education, Ki Hadjar Dewantara. Teachers must be properly trained and educated for quality, as well as quantity. Seeing the urgent need for teachers, Ki Hadjar Dewantara established Taman Guru which prepared cadres of pamong in various remote areas. This research aims to reveal Ki Hadjar Dewantara's response to Dutch colonial education with the regeneration of teachers and his conception of the figure of a teacher. This research uses qualitative research with primary data sources in the form of Ki Hadjar Dewantara's writings and documentation, while secondary sources are journals and newspapers or magazines relevant to the research. With a historical-philosophical approach, using content analysis, it was found that Ki Hadjar Dewantara saw that education had strayed far from its noble purpose. Education was used as a medium to perpetuate colonialism, so he established Taman Guru to be educated to become pamong who have an independent spirit, are independent and have high fighting power. Teachers according to Ki Hadjar Dewantara are educators, teachers, mentors, guides, caregivers and leaders who are respected, have inner and outer sincerity, simplicity, exemplary to foster the strength of children's nature, both as individuals and members of society to achieve the highest happiness.

Abstract

Weather data is an essential record of various weather elements that serve as the basis for forecasting future weather and climate conditions. Managing large volumes of data requires appropriate methods and applications to process the data to produce accurate results. The data used is reanalysis data taken from Copernicus and its verifiers from observational data. Data processing using CDO tools. The results of this study show the RMSE value between the observation data and the model of 1.24, where the model data tends to be smaller than the observation data. Next, there was an increase in monthly average temperature during the period 1970 - 2019. A significant increase in temperature was seen from the period 1970 - 2019 the lowest average temperature was 26.09oC, 26.36oC, 26.45oC, 26.69oC and 26.96oC respectively. The monthly temperature increase reached 0.87oC during the period 1970 - 2019. Abstract

Speaking is considered as one of the most fundamental skills which every student learning English aims at improving in order to be communicatively competent. Despite the outstanding effort of the encouragement made by teachers, the majority of the Indonesian students learning English still lack abilities to express ideas in a classroom regardless of their understanding about linguistic features of the target language. They also tend to defend themselves against producing utterances or expressing their ideas. Therefore, this study attempted to figure out what challenges which students encountered psychologically. It is a descriptive qualitative study and uses observation and interview as the methods for gathering data. The results then revealed that the students had difficulty actively speaking in the classroom because they were inhibited by anxiety, shyness, and lack of motivation. The study was finally expected to provide significant pedagogical implications for EFL teachers to raise their awareness of these issues in the EFL classrooms and to formulate applicable strategies to help their students cope with the obstacles.
