Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of concrete visual media in introducing worship concepts to elementary school students at SDIT Sabilil Mukminin. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation involving Islamic Religious Education teachers and the school principal. The data were analyzed using qualitative procedures, including data reduction, data display, and inductive conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that concrete visual media such as sequential images of wudhu and prayer movements, worship procedure posters, and simple teaching aids were applied to support students’ understanding of worship concepts in a more tangible and structured way. The use of these media positively influenced students’ engagement by increasing attention, learning motivation, and accuracy in performing worship practices. School policies that promote active and contextual learning also supported the implementation. However, several challenges were identified, including limited instructional time and differences in students’ ability to interpret visual stimuli. Overall, concrete visual media serve as an effective learning alternative for worship education at the elementary level.

Abstract

Religious and cultural diversity is an inherent social reality in Indonesia, requiring the early cultivation of tolerant and balanced religious attitudes. Early Childhood Education (ECE) plays a strategic role as the foundation for children’s character formation and social development, including the internalization of religious moderation values. This study aims to examine the process of internalizing these values among young children through an inclusive ECE learning environment. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and the school principal, and documentation of instructional materials. Data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the internalization of religious moderation values occurs through habituation in an inclusive learning environment, reflected in children’s empathy, tolerance, cooperation, and mutual respect in daily interactions. Teachers act as the primary agents by modeling appropriate attitudes and integrating moderation values into thematic, play-based learning. An inclusive environment is proven effective in fostering moderate attitudes in developmentally appropriate ways. This study highlights the importance of strengthening inclusive ECE settings and reflective-humanistic teacher roles to nurture moderate character from an early age.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 has compelled Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic primary schools) to enhance the quality of human resources among educators and educational staff in response to the digital transformation of education. This study seeks to examine human resource development strategies implemented in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah within the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, as well as to explore the challenges arising from their implementation. A qualitative descriptive design was adopted, with data gathered through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The participants of this study consisted of the school principal, teachers, and educational staff at MIS Mambaul Hidayah Gumukmas. The results reveal that human resource development is carried out through technology-oriented internal training, strengthened teacher collaboration via Teacher Working Groups (KKG), ongoing professional development, benchmarking initiatives, and the digitalization of madrasah management. Despite existing constraints, the findings underscore that well-planned and collaborative human resource development strategies are essential in improving the professionalism of educators and educational staff in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.

Abstract

Flood disasters occurring in various areas of North Sumatra cause not only physical damage but also psychosocial impacts, particularly on children as a vulnerable group. Children affected by floods are at risk of experiencing anxiety, fear, and difficulties in expressing emotions after the disaster. This community service activity aimed to implement a reading literacy–based healing therapy as an effort to support the psychosocial recovery of children affected by floods in North Sumatra. The method employed was training through guided reading activities facilitated by trained facilitators, combined with simple discussions, storytelling, and emotional expression through drawing. The results indicated an improvement in children’s participation, emotional openness, and social interaction, along with a decrease in observable signs of anxiety after the implementation of the reading-based healing therapy. These findings suggest that reading literacy functions not only as an educational activity but also as an effective, accessible, and sustainable healing therapy to support children’s psychosocial recovery in post-flood disaster contexts.

Abstract

Fiqh learning in Madrasah Aliyah faces challenges in contextualizing instructional content to align with evolving social realities in the digital era, particularly in the teaching of Hajj jurisprudence, which is often delivered normatively. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of discussion-based learning in internalizing Hajj fiqh values and enhancing students’ contextual understanding. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with a phenomenological-evaluative design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and documentation, with informants selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that discussion-based learning promotes active student participation, strengthens critical thinking skills, and facilitates a more contextual and meaningful understanding of Hajj fiqh in relation to social, cultural, and regulatory dynamics in the digital era. Therefore, discussion-based learning can serve as an effective pedagogical strategy for improving fiqh instruction in Madrasah Aliyah

Abstract

The emergence of Generation Alpha, who grow up within a highly digitalized environment, has significantly transformed children’s religious curiosity. Religious teachings are no longer accepted merely as dogma; instead, children increasingly raise reflective and existential questions that demand logical and contextual explanations. This study aims to examine the forms of religious curiosity among Generation Alpha children and to analyze the importance of collaboration between parents and teachers in guiding this process. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observation involving parents and Islamic education teachers. The findings reveal that children’s religious curiosity can be categorized into ontological, epistemological, and axiological questions. The study also demonstrates that a synergistic-dialogical collaboration between parents and teachers is essential to ensure consistency in religious understanding. Digital media function as supportive tools for pedagogical communication and coordination. Furthermore, a constructivist approach proves effective in facilitating dialogical, rational, and moderate religious learning. This research underscores that effective Islamic religious education for Generation Alpha requires sustained cooperation between family and school environments to foster meaningful, reflective, and well-integrated religious understanding.

Abstract

Early childhood education (ECE) represents a crucial stage in shaping children’s character, morality, and religiosity. From an Islamic perspective, the family serves as the first and primary educational institution (madrasah al-ūlā), playing a central role in nurturing Islamic values from an early age. This study aims to thematically synthesize the role of the family environment in Islamic early childhood education through a qualitative literature review. The research employed a qualitative approach using library research, analyzing scholarly journal articles and relevant academic sources on family education, Islamic education, and ECE. Data were examined using thematic analysis, including coding, categorization, and synthesis of recurring themes. The findings reveal five principal themes: the family as madrasah al-ūlā, parental role modeling in moral and religious education, internalization of Islamic values in early childhood, Islamic parenting practices supporting child development, and the synergy between families and ECE institutions. The study highlights that the quality of parenting and consistency of values within the home environment significantly influence the success of early childhood education. Theoretically, this research contributes an integrative conceptual framework to Islamic ECE studies and emphasizes strengthening family–school partnerships in value-based education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of the traditional game Tapak Gunung as a medium for developing contextual numeracy skills in children aged 4–5 years at PAUD Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Tangerang Elok. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a critical perspective. The research subjects consisted of 15 children in group A aged 4–5 years as well as teachers and the principal. Data collection techniques were carried out through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the Tapak Gunung game modified with number symbols was able to stimulate children's numeracy skills, including number symbol recognition, counting skills, understanding number sequences, and simple pattern recognition. Most children showed an increase in numeracy skills through play activities involving physical movement and social interaction. From a critical perspective, the Tapak Gunung game not only functions as a medium for learning numeracy, but also as a means of preserving local culture and strengthening children's social values ​​amidst the dominance of digital games. Thus, the Tapak Gunung game can be used as an alternative contextual, fun, and meaningful learning medium in developing early childhood numeracy skills.

Abstract

Reading literacy is a basic skill for early childhood as a foundation for language and cognitive development. Children aged 5–6 years are in the early reading stage and therefore require stimulation through engaging and developmentally appropriate learning media. Picture cards combine visual and textual elements to help children recognize letters, words, and simple sentences. This study aims to determine strategies for using picture cards, analyze their effectiveness in improving reading literacy, and identify supporting and inhibiting factors at Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Panongan 1 Kindergarten. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with 22 children in Group B and teachers and the principal as informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model and triangulation. The results showed that picture cards effectively increased children's interest and reading literacy, as evidenced by improvements in letter recognition, simple word reading, and understanding of meaning. Supporting factors included teacher creativity and children's interests, while inhibiting factors included limited media and differences in children's abilities.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media in improving science concept understanding among fifth-grade students at MI At-Taqwa Bondowoso. The research was conducted from August to September 2025 using a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group format. The participants consisted of two classes: an experimental group that received AR-based learning and a control group that was taught using conventional instructional methods. The research instrument was a science concept understanding test that had been validated and tested for reliability. Data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test to measure improvements within each group, an independent samples t-test to examine differences between the two groups, and N-Gain analysis to determine the magnitude of conceptual improvement. The results indicated that the mean score of the experimental group increased from 58.40 to 84.20, while the control group improved from 57.80 to 71.60. The paired sample t-test showed significant improvements in both groups (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05), with a higher t-value in the experimental group (t = 14.562). The independent samples t-test revealed a significant difference between the two groups (t = 6.482; Sig. 0.000 < 0.05). The N-Gain score for the experimental group was 0.72 (high category), whereas the control group achieved 0.33 (moderate category). Therefore, AR-based learning media proved to be effective in enhancing science concept understanding among Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students.
