Abstract

Parenting patterns are a primary factor in the character formation of early childhood, one of which is fostering a sense of piety towards God. This study aims to examine the influence of parenting patterns on fostering a sense of piety towards God in early childhood at TK Beringin Asri, Tegalombo District, Pacitan Regency. This study used qualitative methods. The results indicate that democratic parenting patterns tend to be more effective in instilling the value of piety than authoritarian or permissive parenting patterns. Piety in early childhood can be instilled through role models, habituating worship, memorizing short surahs, and good communication between parents and children. Therefore, the role of the family as the primary educator is crucial in shaping a child's religious character.

Abstract

This journal aims to construct the ethics of student-teacher communication from the perspective of ishari interpretation through an analysis of Surah Al-Kahf verse 66 in al-Bahr al-Madid by Ibn ‘Ajibah. The background of this study is based on the importance of communication ethics in Islamic education, which is not only oriented toward the transfer of knowledge, but also toward the formation of manners and students’ character. In the context of modern education, especially in the digital era, communication patterns have shifted and tend to neglect ethical values. Therefore, a reconstruction of communication concepts based on the Qur’an is needed. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach, placing al-Bahr al-Madid as the primary source and supported by classical exegesis literature and contemporary Islamic education studies. The findings show that Surah Al-Kahf verse 66 contains principles of student-teacher communication ethics, including the attitude of asking permission politely (isti’dhan), humility (tawadu’), gentleness in speech (mulatafah), an orientation of knowledge directed toward guidance (rushd), and readiness to follow the learning process (suhbah). From the perspective of ishari interpretation, these ethical values are not merely external practices, but also reflect the inner and spiritual readiness of a student in receiving knowledge. Thus, communication ethics is an integral part of Islamic education that plays an important role in creating meaningful, civilized, and character-oriented learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of video-based interactive learning media in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) and its potential for enhancing student learning motivation. The method used was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) employing the PRISMA approach, which involved the stages of identification, screening, eligibility assessment, and inclusion of relevant literature. The results of the study regarding implementation indicate that the use of platforms such as EdPuzzle and H5P enables the presentation of PAI material in a more engaging, contextual, and participatory manner, although their effectiveness remains limited by infrastructure constraints and teachers’ digital literacy. Regarding the potential for increased motivation, it was found that interactive video media significantly enhances students’ attention, enthusiasm, and engagement in PAI learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the importance of non-academic appreciation in building the confidence of elementary school students. The research uses a qualitative approach with a type of library research that focuses on the analysis of various scientific literature on strengthening self-efficacy, non-academic awards, and psychological development of elementary school-age children. Data collection was carried out through documentation studies of books, journal articles, and research results obtained from Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and the Garuda Portal. Data analysis was carried out using content analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data classification, data interpretation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that non-academic appreciation has a significant influence on the formation of confidence and self-efficacy of elementary school students. Recognition of talents in the fields of art, sports, leadership, and social character can increase intrinsic motivation, courage to try new things, and students' mental resilience in the face of academic pressure. In addition, non-academic appreciation also acts as a psychological buffer that helps students reduce their sense of inferiority due to academic comparisons in the school environment. This study concludes that elementary schools need to build a learning environment that is inclusive and friendly to the diversity of students' potential through collaboration between teachers and parents in providing recognition for each child's talents and efforts.

Abstract

Instilling moral values in early childhood is a very important part of Islamic education because at this stage, children are in the phase of basic character formation. However, the use of less engaging learning methods can hinder children's understanding and appreciation of moral values. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Islamic storytelling methods in instilling moral values in early childhood. This study used a qualitative approach in field research. Data were collected from various sources, such as books, scientific journals, and other relevant references, and then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the Islamic storytelling method is effective in instilling moral values such as honesty, responsibility, patience, and love among children. Islamic stories help children understand moral values through the example of the characters and support children's social, emotional, and language development. In addition, this method increases children's participation in the learning process because it aligns with their developmental characteristics. Thus, the Islamic storytelling method can be an effective strategy for forming Islamic characters in early childhood and needs to be applied consistently in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of "Ceria" Activities (Creative Pre-Writing Activities) in stimulating pre-writing skills of children with Down syndrome at TK IT As-Salam Malang City and to identify the challenges faced during its implementation. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Research was conducted from April 20 to May 8, 2026, at TK IT As-Salam Malang City, involving one child with moderate Down syndrome as the research subject. Data were collected through observation using a checklist instrument, interviews with classroom and shadow teachers, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles model through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, supported by source and technique triangulation. The findings revealed that "Ceria" Activities, encompassing drawing with an image-completion technique, beading (meronce), finger painting, and puzzle, contributed to the development of the child’s pre-writing readiness through the stimulation of fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, object manipulation abilities, sensory responses, and hand movement control. In addition, these activities also stimulated the sensory integration system, particularly the tactile system through activities involving various textures, the vestibular system through activities involving balance and body movement coordination, and the proprioceptive system through the use of muscles and joints when grasping, pressing, and moving objects. Implementation was carried out gradually, repeatedly, and adaptively according to the child's condition. Key challenges identified included mood instability, short attention span, dependency on teacher assistance, and limitations in visual-motor coordination.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve early childhood children's ability to recognize number concepts through the use of Wordwall games. The research was conducted at PAUD Hidara Rama Agung. Based on the observation results, there were still children who experienced difficulties in matching number symbols with the quantity of objects, as well as a lack of interest and involvement in learning activities that tended to be monotonous. This study employed the Classroom Action Research method, which was carried out in two cycles. The research subjects consisted of 12 children in Group A (aged 4–5 years). Data collection techniques were conducted through observation and documentation, while data analysis used descriptive qualitative methods. The results of the study showed an improvement in children's ability to recognize number concepts in each cycle. In Cycle I, the average learning mastery reached approximately 55%, with the indicator of mentioning number sequences achieving 50%, recognizing number symbols 41.6%, and matching the number of objects with numbers 33.3%. In Cycle II, there was a significant improvement, where the indicator of mentioning number sequences reached 100%, recognizing number symbols reached 91.67%, and matching the number of objects with numbers reached 83.33%. Therefore, the use of Wordwall interactive games proved to be effective in improving early childhood children's ability to recognize number concepts and can serve as an alternative innovative learning medium to increase children's interest in learning.
