Abstract

This study aims to describe the Effectiveness of traditional game-based Camp Character and the character development of Grade B children at TK ALLIM Babat. Early character cultivation is crucial, supported by the potential of local wisdom through traditional games as an effective and contextual medium. Using a case study qualitative approach, this research involved Grade B children as subjects, and teachers, facilitators, and the head of school as key informants. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles & Huberman's interactive data analysis model. The results show that the Camp Character at TK ALLIM Babat was implemented holistically and structured. A series of activities such as ceremonies, gymnastics, four traditional game posts (engklek, rope skipping, cublak-cublak suweng, egrang batok), horseback riding, Dhuhur prayer, and Al-Qur'an recitation proved. The effectiveness of the Camp Character activities in this study was observed through changes in children's behavior during the implementation of the program. These changes included improvements in cooperation, independence, discipline, responsibility, and sportsmanship, based on direct observational findings. Traditional games successfully created a fun and meaningful learning environment for early childhood in internalizing character values.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of Wordwall media on the mathematical development of children aged 5–6 years. Aspects studied include the ability to recognize numbers 1–20, add numbers 1–20, and demonstrate number concepts. This study used a descriptive method with 15 children as subjects. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and documentation with indicators referring to the Child Development Achievement Level Standards (STPPA) according to Permendikbud Number 137 of 2014. The results of the study indicate that the use of Wordwall media has a positive impact on children's mathematical development. Most children have been able to achieve the expected development indicators in the three aspects studied. Wordwall media creates interactive and fun learning that increases children's activeness and understanding. Thus, Wordwall media is effective for stimulating early childhood mathematical development.

Abstract

The issue addressed in this study is that the teacher relies solely on picture-based media for delivering Pancasila Education, which leads to a lack of enthusiasm among students. To address this, the researcher developed a digital Big Book focused on the topic “I Obey the Rules” for third-grade students at SDN 2 Langsa. The aim of this research and development effort is to explore the process of developing the Big Book, as well as to assess its feasibility and practicality as a learning tool. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluation. Data were collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The resulting Big Book media design received highly favorable evaluations: a 90% feasibility score from content experts (classified as “very feasible”), 91% from language experts “very feasible”, and 89% from media experts “very feasible”. Practicality evaluations conducted by teaching practitioners yielded a score of 96.36% “very practical”, while student responses showed a score of 97.12% “very practical”. These results indicate that the digital Big Book developed for the “I Obey the Rules” topic in Pancasila Education is highly appropriate and effective as a learning medium to address the identified issues.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the joyful learning approach using aquascape natural media in daycare to increase children's engagement and learning experience. The research subjects consisted of 11 children and 2 teachers at a daycare. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation during the learning activities. The results showed that the use of aquascape natural media in the joyful learning approach was able to create a fun, interactive, and meaningful learning atmosphere. Children showed an increase in curiosity, observation skills, courage to ask questions, and a caring attitude towards the environment. The role of the teacher as a facilitator is very important in directing children's exploration of simple ecosystems in aquascapes. In addition, this activity also supports the development of children's cognitive, social-emotional, language, and fine motor aspects. Thus, the implementation of the joyful learning approach through aquascape natural media is effective in creating an active and enjoyable learning experience in a daycare environment. Concrete and contextual natural media can be an innovative alternative in early childhood learning.

Abstract

Verbal violence among elementary school students has become a significant issue that affects children’s psychological well-being, social relationships, and learning environment. This study aims to implement politeness-based language education as a strategy to address verbal violence in school settings. The program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) design involving 30 elementary school students. The intervention was conducted through interactive and participatory activities, including role-playing, guided conversations, group discussions, and educational games, over four to six sessions. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test assessments, classroom observations, questionnaires, and teacher interviews. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students’ understanding of polite language, as well as positive changes in their communication behavior. Students demonstrated an increased ability to distinguish between polite and impolite expressions and showed greater awareness of the social and emotional impact of their language use. In addition, a noticeable reduction in verbal aggression was observed during classroom interactions. The results suggest that politeness-based language education is an effective approach to fostering respectful communication and reducing verbal violence among students. The integration of cognitive, behavioral, and socio-emotional aspects in language learning contributes to the development of students’ communicative competence and character. Therefore, it is recommended that such programs be integrated into regular classroom practices and supported by continuous collaboration between schools, families, and communities to ensure sustainable outcomes.

Abstract

The development of children’s literacy remains a critical challenge, particularly in community-based learning contexts where access to engaging and relevant learning resources is often limited. This study investigates the effectiveness of creative media as a strategy to enhance children’s literacy in a community setting in Medan, Indonesia. Employing a Participatory Action Research (PAR) design, the study involved 25 children aged 7–12 years, along with parents and local facilitators. The intervention integrated illustrated storybooks, interactive storytelling, and literacy-based games, enriched with cultural and religious values. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and pre- and post-literacy assessments. The findings reveal significant improvements in both engagement and literacy skills. Active participation increased from 36% to 84%, while average literacy scores improved from 64% to 81%. Children also demonstrated higher motivation, longer attention spans, and greater involvement in literacy activities. In addition, 88% of children reported increased enjoyment in learning, and 90% of parents observed positive changes in their children’s reading habits at home. These results indicate that creative media serves as an effective, contextually relevant approach to literacy development by combining cognitive, social, and cultural dimensions of learning. The study contributes to the literature by extending the application of multiliteracies and sociocultural frameworks into community-based settings and highlighting theimportance of integrating local values in literacy practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of experimental-based education in the Qur’an, particularly in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 260, and to examine its relevance to modern education. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods, with data collected from classical and contemporary tafsir, educational theories, and recent scholarly studies. The results show that the concept of experiment in this verse is reflected through a learning process involving direct experience, observation, and empirical verification, as demonstrated in the dialogue between Prophet Ibrahim and Allah. This indicates that experimental learning plays an important role in strengthening understanding and belief. Furthermore, this concept is relevant to modern educational approaches that emphasize active participation and reflective processes. Therefore, experimental-based education in the Qur’an provides a conceptual foundation for developing active and contextual learning models in contemporary Islamic education.
