Abstract

In the digital era, the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is crucial for improving the effectiveness and accuracy of healthcare services. However, this advancement also brings new challenges related to the security and privacy of patient data. This study aims to evaluate the information security aspects of the EMR at Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital (RSI) Semarang using a Gap Analysis model based on the ISO 27001 standard. The study was conducted using a case study and concurrent mixed methods, involving five key informants, including the head of IT, the head of medical records, and the medical records officer. Data were analyzed using a Gap Analysis checklist and in-depth interviews. The results showed that only 40% of the 108 clauses of the ISO 27001 requirements were met, indicating the need for significant improvements in information security. The implementation of encryption technology, multi-factor authentication, and data security regulations are proposed to provide stronger protection for patient data. This study is expected to increase patient confidence in the privacy of their data and provide a benchmark for other healthcare facilities in managing data securely and efficiently.

Abstract

Health Information Systems (HIS) are a crucial element in improving the efficiency and accuracy of medical services in community health centers. This study aims to analyze the impact of HIS implementation on the quality of healthcare services, using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The analysis process involved identifying 300 relevant articles through academic databases, such as Taylor and Francis and Scopus, which were then selected into 10 primary articles based on inclusion criteria. This study explored the impact of HIS on service efficiency, data accuracy, and evidence-based decision-making. The analysis results indicate that the implementation of HIS, such as the Community Health Center Management Information System (SIMPUS) and web-based applications, significantly contributes to accelerating services, reducing patient waiting times, and increasing user satisfaction. However, challenges such as limited human resources, inadequate technological infrastructure, and the complexity of data management remain major obstacles. System integration, such as bridging systems, and the development of web-based applications have proven effective in addressing some of these obstacles. This study concludes that HIS has a positive impact on improving the quality of healthcare services in community health centers, although its implementation requires better infrastructure support and human resource training. Technological integration and innovation efforts are key to optimizing the benefits of HIS in supporting efficient, patient-centered healthcare services.

Abstract

College is a crucial transitional period in a person's life, with significant lifestyle changes, including dietary patterns and health behaviors. Self-Management Dietary Behaviors (SMDB) are crucial aspects that influence students' health and academic performance. Self-Management Dietary Behaviors encompass an individual's ability to manage their food intake in a way that supports long-term health. This study is a quantitative study using a questionnaire as a data collection technique. The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of Self-Management Dietary Behaviors (SMDB) among students at the Faculty of Public Health, State Islamic University of North Sumatra. The results showed that the majority of respondents (89.9%) had a moderate level of SMDB, while 8.9% had a low level, and 1.3% had a high level. Factors influencing BMI include gender, age, and Body Mass Index (BMI), with significant associations between gender (p=0.035), age (p=0.041), and BMI (p=0.006 for national criteria and p=0.008 for WHO criteria) and BMI levels. This study also found that students with abnormal BMI, both underweight and obese, had lower BMI levels. Therefore, tailored nutrition interventions are needed, including gender- and age-specific nutrition education, increased access to healthy foods on campus, psychosocial support for at-risk groups, and flexible time for nutrition activities. This study emphasizes the importance of managing healthy eating patterns among students to improve their quality of life.

Abstract

Abnormalities in newborns are usually congenital. These congenital abnormalities are abnormalities that occur in the baby's structural development from the time the baby begins life from conception. These congenital abnormalities are usually the cause of abortion, stillbirth, or death soon after birth. Infant deaths in the first month of life are often caused by severe congenital abnormalities. The purpose of this study is to help parents quickly identify the types of abnormalities in newborns without having to wait in line for a specialist. This study used the Forward Chaining method. The Forward Chaining method is an inference technique in an expert system that works from facts or symptoms to a final conclusion. In this study, the Forward Chaining method was used to determine the types of abnormalities in newborns. Not all babies born are normal, even if they appear normal. Each abnormality in a newborn baby is accompanied by specific symptoms. To determine the type of abnormality that occurs in newborns, this is done by paying attention to the symptoms experienced by the baby so that the public can obtain information about the abnormality, and for doctors this application can be used as an assistant as well as a reference to provide information to the public about the types of abnormalities in newborns. For this reason, an expert system is designed that uses Forward Chaining to help people who want to consult about their babies to find out if there are any abnormalities in their babies.

Abstract

A community health center (Puskesmas) is a facility that provides primary health care services to both the general public and individuals. The storage and distribution of medical supplies is crucial to health service management at the Puskesmas. The purpose of this study was to determine the overview of the storage and distribution of medical supplies at the Sunggal Community Health Center in 2024. This study used descriptive observational interviews with the person in charge of the pharmacy department. Data collection used purposive sampling in the warehouse or drug room of the Sunggal Community Health Center in Medan on Thursday, November 14, 2024. The results of the study showed that the storage and distribution of medical supplies at the Sunggal Community Health Center in 2024 was very good (100%), spatial arrangement (93.3%) (very good), and drug distribution (100%) (very good). However, there is still 1 parameter of spatial planning regulations that does not meet the standards or targets, namely large-scale storage only in cupboards and on shelves, which should be based on Permenkes 74 of 2016, large-scale drugs are stored on pallets. This shows that the description of the storage and distribution of health supplies at the Sunggal Health Center in 2024 meets storage standards. The storage and distribution pattern of health supplies in the pharmacy warehouse still needs improvement in order to maintain the quality of health supplies in the pharmacy room and warehouse, optimization of storage and distribution of health supplies is very important to ensure the availability and quality of health services at the Sunggal Health Center.

Abstract

This study aims to identify factors influencing smoking behavior among university students, focusing on the influence of attitudes toward the lack of sanctions and attitudes toward cigarette sales. A quantitative methodology was used to measure the relationship between these variables. The study was conducted over a one-month period, involving 100 randomly selected university students as respondents. Primary data was collected through a questionnaire designed to explore students' attitudes, social norms, and behaviors toward smoking. An ethnographic approach and a normative paradigm were applied to understand the social and cultural contexts that influence student behavior. Secondary data in the form of journals, books, and scientific articles were used to support the analysis. Data collection techniques included questionnaires, observation, and documentation to capture broader aspects of smoking behavior. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation, which integrated the results from questionnaires, observations, and supporting literature. Statistical analysis showed that attitudes toward the lack of sanctions had a significant positive influence on smoking behavior, while attitudes toward cigarette sales were insignificant. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 93.6% indicates that the regression model has very high predictive power, although multicollinearity was found among the independent variables. The results of this study reveal that social influence and sanction regulations play a significant role in driving college students' smoking behavior. This study highlights the importance of stricter sanction enforcement policies and a social norms-based approach to reducing smoking prevalence. Further research is needed to explore other factors, including cultural and psychosocial aspects, to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of smoking behavior among college students.

Abstract

Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 24 of 2022 concerning Medical Records states that every health service must conduct electronic medical record activities, one of which is reporting hospital service indicators. Hospital X's reporting application has not been fully implemented and utilized. This is because it only provides menus for BOR and AvLOS indicators, resulting in calculations using the application differing from manual calculations. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the Hospital Service Indicator Reporting Application at Hospital X in 2024. This study was qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The subjects were medical records and IT staff, as well as the reporting application participants. The data used in this study were primary data, using interview guidelines and observation sheets. The data were then processed and analyzed univariately. The results of this study show that there is a difference in the number of beds between the BOR and AvLOS indicator menus in the reporting application and the Decree of the Director of Hospital X, resulting in differences in the calculation results of Hospital service indicators based on the 2006 Indonesian Ministry of Health which can result in errors in decision making, while the TOI and BTO indicator menus are not yet available so it is necessary to develop a Hospital reporting system design.
