JIPI (Jurnal IPA dan Pembelajaran IPA) aims to serve original articles on the latest issues and trends in high-quality research focused on technology-integrated science and/or science learning (chemistry, biology, physics, and environment). Technology integration includes learning media, curriculum, assessment processes and science learning outcomes, as well as the application of the latest technology in pure science research. The editors welcome submissions of papers on recent theoretical and experimental research related to: Results of theoretical and empirical research studies on science learning with integrated technology. We invite manuscripts that investigate science learning with the integration of web-based technology, Android, Arduino, nanotechnology, virtual labs, technological and pedagogical content knowledge research, STEM and/or STEAM, sociological issues, virtual reality, augmented reality, and other relevant issues. relevant to science learning. The results of research on the application of science learning media which focuses on studies related to the latest trends in the use of technology-based science learning media at all levels of education and in society. The results of research related to the implementation of the science learning curriculum (chemistry, biology and physics) have contributed to developing the latest trends in the implementation of the science learning curriculum with the integration of technology at all levels of education including science learning design, competency analysis and syllabus. The results of research related to the assessment of science learning processes and outcomes contribute to developing the latest trends in technology-integrated science learning assessment at all levels of education. The results of research related to science teacher education include original theoretical and empirical studies, including professional preparation of teachers, implementation of their work, and/or career development based on the latest technology. Research results related to technology-based science learning in everyday life outside the formal classroom. Papers should examine experiences in environments such as the community, home, internet, museums, and other aspects that develop interest, knowledge, and/or application of science. Science learning that emphasizes attention to aspects of problems and factors related to equality. Research results related to pure science research that is currently trending (chemistry, physics, biology and the environment).

Abstract

Formative assessment is an essential aspect of learning. Facts in the field show that there still needs to be more teachers who conduct formative assessments during the learning process. The assessment that carries out assesses the final results of learning through summative. This study aims to analyze the ability of science teachers to design formative assessment instruments in science teaching through the implementation of the participatory training model. The research method used is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The research subjects were 30 junior high school science teachers in Sumedang Regency. Data collection instruments are formative assessment product sheets made by teachers and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the ability of teachers to design formative instrument assessments was categorized as good. Abstract

Practicum modules are needed during the practical learning process activities that can be used by teachers and students. Science literacy must be mastered by students, because it is related to the environment. Science literacy is assessed from three aspects namely content, process and context. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility test and practical test of practicum modules based on science literacy for science learning in SMP Negeri 1 Langsa. This type of research is research and development which is modified into three stages of research implementation with the module trial stage developed in the form of research and information gathering, module design phase and module development stage with documentary study data collection techniques, questionnaires, and experiments. The scores obtained will be processed using descriptive analysis by conducting a feasibility test by material and media experts consisting of biology education lecturers while the practicality test uses a questionnaire distributed to students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Langsa on Natural Sciences subjects. The results showed that the IPA practicum product modules analyzed consisted of three categories: the percentage value of the highly valid aspects with a value of 78% on the module quality element, while the practicality test consisted of three aspects namely the content, process and context aspects of the results of the three aspects. The percentage value of 82.8% of the aspects of positive student response content that practicum modules are used is very practical. Based on the values obtained that the IPA practicum module is feasible and practically used as a practical guide.

Abstract

Online learning that has been carried out more or less in the past year has caused student studying saturation. The provision of material through Youtube videos, articles or handouts in pdf form is generally done by teachers. In fact, technology has provided many alternatives that can be used as more interesting learning media, for example Powtoon. Therefore, this study aims to provide training to teachers in developing materials in the form of Powtoon in order to increase students' learning motivation, especially during online learning. This research includes community service research. The steps taken are; 1) Pre-implementation, in the form of needs analysis, 2) Implementation, in the form of training with Powtoon development materials as learning media, filling out questionnaires, independent work, discussions and 3) Post-implementation, in the form of evaluation of activities. The implementation of the training showed the enthusiasm of the participants as seen from the life of the discussion session. Based on the questionnaire filled out by the participants, the implementation of the training has been well implemented with suggestions for adding other innovative media materials, and improving teacher competence in other matters. In addition, the results of the development and use of Powtoon media carried out by participants showed that students were enthusiastic and motivated in learning

Abstract

Abstrak. Telah dilakukan penelitian penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi hidrokarbon di SMA Negeri 1 Tanah Luas Aceh Utara mulai bulan April sampai bulan Mei 2015. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI terhadap pemahaman konsep dan berpikir kritis siswa serta tanggapan siswa terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI pada materi hidrokarbon. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode ekperimen “Pretest-posttes Control group Design”. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes dengan instrument soal objektif bentuk pilihan ganda. Teknik analisis data adalah independent sample t-test dan wilcoxon test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata N-gain pemahaman konsep kelas eksperimen (71) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan rata-rata N-gain siswa kelas kontrol (47). Rata-rata N-gain berpikir kritis siswa kelas eksperimen (62) lebih tinggi dibandingkan rata-rata N-gain (44) siswa kelas kontrol. Hasil uji wilcoxon diperoleh terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas eksperimen dengan siswa kelas kontrol dengan J hitung = 48,5 dan J tabel= 89 serta terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan berpikir kritis siswa kelas eksperimen dengan siswa kelas kontrol dengan J hitung = 69,5 dan J tabel= 89. Penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI mendapat tanggapan positif dari siswa kelas eksperimen. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) memberi hasil yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional.Kata kunci: Model kooperatif tipe TAI, pemahaman konsep, berpikir kritis, hidrokarbon

Abstract

Facing today's 21st century learning, teachers need to foster science literacy and consider learning strategies that suit the conditions and potential of students whose learning processes focus on providing firsthand experience and applying science knowledge. Literacy skills are fundamental things that students must do in facing the global era to be able to meet the needs of life in various situations. This research aims to develop instructional design through project learning based on science process skills to improve valid, practical and effective literacy skills. This research uses a type of research on Borg and Gall model development which is a systemic process that starts from the analysis of needs, product design, product development, implementation and evaluation of products. The subjects in the research were students in grade VII SMPN 1 Selong and Madrasah Tsanawiyah Muallimat NW Pancor numbered 64 people. Data collection uses validation sheets, practicality guidelines, and tests to measure students' science literacy skills. Data is analyzed with descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the analysis showed that the instructional design of the project based learning model based on science process skills fall into the category of valid, practical and effective and feasible to use. The products developed also have a potential effect in improving students' science literacy skills indicated by an N-Gain score of 0.77 with a high category

Abstract

 The development of technology and information in the 21st century supports the implementation of online learning during the pandemic. The learning process that uses the right approach and learning model will be more effective when combined with the use of technology. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of STEM-PBL integration through online learning on the critical thinking skills of biology education students. The research was conducted on students of the Biology Education Program in Unismuh Makassar with Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The researchdata were collected using a test of critical thinking skills in ten valid essay questions.Hypothesis testing using independent sample t-test. The results showed that there was significant result of STEM-PBL integration on students' critical thinking skills. The improvement of critical thinking skills can be seen from the N-gain value of two classes, where the experimental class got N-gain value of 0.65 and the control class was 0.39. The average N-gain value for both classes was in the medium category. Furthermore, hypothesis testing using the average value of N-gain and obtained a significant value 0.05. Based on the results, it can be concluded that learning process that integrates STEM-PBL has a positive influence on students' critical thinking skills

Abstract

Abstrak. Telah dilakukan penelitian uji aktivitas antioksidan daun gulma siam (Chromoleana odorata L.) dengan metode 1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil (DPPH). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kandungan senyawa metabolit sekunder, golongan flavonoid dan aktivitas antioksidan yang terdapat dalam daun gulma siam. Sebanyak 315 g daun gulma siam kering yang sudah dihaluskan, dimaserasi dengan etanol 95% diperoleh 100 g ekstrak kental etanol. Sebanyak 70 g ekstrak kental etanol difraksinasi dengan pelarut metanol dan n-heksana menghasilkan fraksi kental metanol 30,72 g dan n-heksana 14,62 g. Hasil skrining fitokimia ekstrak etanol menunjukkan positif mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, tanin dan steroid. Fraksi metanol positif mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, dan tanin. Fraksi metanol dilakukan isolasi dengan metode kromatografi kolom menggunakan eluen n-heksana : etil asetat : diklorometana (1:1:1) sebagai fase gerak pertama, kemudian ditingkatkan gradien kepolarannya untuk menghasilkan pemisahan secara sempurna. Hasil isolasi diperoleh 8 fraksi (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H) dan hasil analisis secara KLT menunjukkan fraksi A dan B positif mengandung senyawa flavonoid. Senyawa flavonoid yang terkandung dalam fraksi A diperkirakan golongan isoflavon dan fraksi B diperkirakan golongan isoflavon, flavon, flavonol dan kalkon. Analisis FTIR menunjukkan fraksi A dan B mengandung gugus fungsi N-H, O-H (asam karboksilat), C=O (aldehid dan ester), C=C, C-H, C-X (flourida), C-O dan C-N. Hasil pengujian aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH, diperoleh Inhibitor concentrasi (IC50) untuk ekstrak etanol 15,5067 ppm, fraksi metanol 9,5671 ppm, fraksi A 82,7808 ppm dan fraksi B 16,2336 ppm, sedangkan untuk pembanding (asam askorbat) 0,8913 ppm. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan aktivitas antioksidan yang paling kuat terdapat pada  fraksi metanol.Kata kunci: daun gulma siam, Chromoleana odorata L., flavonoid, DPPH. Abstract. The antioxidant activity of siam weed leaf (Chromoleana odorata L.) has been done with 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrilhidrazil (DPPH) method. This study is intended to know the the content of secondary metabolite compounds, the group of flavonoid and antioxidant activity that found in siam weed leaf. The 315 g dry siam weed leaf that was refined, macerated with ethanol 96% produced 100 g of ethanol viscous extract. The 70 of ethanol viscous extract was fractionated with methanol and n-hexane solvent produced 30,72 g of methanol viscous fraction and 14,62 g n-hexane. The results of phytochemical screening of ethanol extract showed positive that contained compound of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins and steroids. Methanol fraction showed positive that contained compound of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins and tannins. The isolation in methanol fraction was made by coloumn chomatography method using eluent n-hexene : acetate ethyl : dichloromethane (1:1:1) as first mation phase. Then the polarity gradient was increased to produce complete separation. The result of isolation produced 8 fractions (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H) and the analysis results with TLC showed fraction of A and B was positive contain flavonoids compound. Flaconoids compound that was contained in fraction A was estimated isoflvone group and fraction B was estimated group os isoflavone, flavone, flavonol and chalcone. Analysis FTIR showed that the fraction of A and B containing function group N-H, O-H (carboxylic acid), C=O (aldehyde and ester), C=C, C-H, C-X (flouride), C-O and  C-N. The result of antioxidant activity test used DPPH method, obtained inhibitor concentration (IC50) for 15,5067 ppm of ethanol extract, 9,5671 of methanol fraction, 82,7808 ppm of fraction A and 16,2336 ppm of fraction B, while for comparison (ascorbic acid) is 0,8913 ppm. This, it can be concluded that strongert antioxidant activity was found in methanol fraction.Keywords: siam weed leaf, Chromoleana odorata L., DPPH.

Abstract

This descriptive study aims to determine the reasoning of the formal-post formal operations of biology teacher candidates in three aspects of lectures. The research sample consisted of 76 students who took part in the 2019/2020 academic year lectures which were taken using the purposive technique. The sample consisted of 29 students in the General Biology practicum subject, 24 students in the invertebrates practicum subject, and 23 students in the vertebrate zoology practicum subject. The data was collected through a test technique using formal-post-formal operational reasoning questions that were developed by themselves and had met the constructive and empirical valid criteria. Data analysis regarding the level of formal-post formal operational reasoning was carried out using the percentage correct score technique obtained for each item so that the correct score was obtained from all students. The results showed that there was a difference in the percentage level of formal-post formal operational reasoning for each level of student lectures. The highest to the lowest level of reasoning was obtained by students who took the vertebrates zoology practicum course by 67%, invertebrates zoology practicum by 67%, and general biology practicum by 17%. Also, students' formal operational reasoning in each subject tends to be lower when compared to their post-formal operational reasoning. The most common indicators of formal reasoning among the three aspects of the lecture are proportional reasoning, and indicators that are lacking are probabilistic and correlational.

Abstract

Currently, a lot of learning focuses on cognitive achievement, which results in less involvement of students in learning. Whereas in the renewable curriculum students are required to have ability incognitive, affective and psychomotor. One of these psychomotor aspects is science process skills by applying inquiry model. This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of guided inquiry-based practicum worksheets on colloid topics on students' science process skills. The research method used mixed research method research with concurrent triangulation designs. The research was conducted in Cimahi, involving 33 students of class XII and 5 validators consisting of two lecturers and three teachers. The research instruments were used self-assessment, observation sheets for practicum activities using guided inquiry-based worksheets, assessment of student worksheet’s assignments, and restricted-response essays. The enhancement of science process skills was calculated by the N-gain formula using pretest and posttest score and characterize into high, medium and low. The results showed that the improvement of student science process skills on the topic of emulsifiers was in the medium category with an N-gain value of 0.6. The implementation of the practicum using guided inquiry-based worksheets on the result of self-assessment obtained 82.0%, the results of observation obtained 82.9%, and the assessment of student’s assignment in the worksheets obtained 81.6% in which all in the very good category

Abstract

Materi Pencemaran lingkungan dan sikap peduli manusia kepada lingkungan merupakan permasalahan yang menarik untuk dipelajari, sehingga tujuan dari penelitian yaitu pengembangan modul praktikum pencemaran lingkungan berbasis inkuiri terbimbing berkolaborasikan video untuk meningkatkan sikap peduli lingkungan dan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Pada modul sudah terdapat penerapan model inkuiri terbimbing, yaitu mengidentifikasi, merumuskan hipotesis, pengumpulan data, menginterpretasikan data, dan membuat suatu kesimpulan yang dikemas di dalam sebuah modul. Jenis penelitian yaitu research and development yang termodifikasi menjadi tujuh tahap pelaksanaan penelitian dengan tahapan uji coba modul yang dikembangkan berupa uji coba produk awal, uji coba lapangan terbatas, dan uji lapangan operasional dengan data dukung berupa lembar observasi, angket, tes, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian dari penerapan modul pencemaran lingkungan berbasis inkuiri terbimbing yang berkolaborasikan video yang didalamnya terdapat materi pencemaran air, pencemaran tanah, dan pencemaran udara yang diterapkan kepada mahasiswa semester IV Program Studi Pendidikan Sains STKIP PGRI Nganjuk dengan hasil sebagai berikut: 1) sikap peduli lingkungan mahasiswa meningkat setiap pelaksanaan penelitian dengan persentase (74,4; 78; dan 85,07) dan 2) hasil belajar mahasiswa juga mengalami peningkatan dengan persentase (79,87; 83; dan 86,4), sehingga dengan penerapan dari pengembangan modul praktikum pencemaran lingkungan berkolaborasikan video dapat meningkatkan sikap peduli lingkungan dan hasil belajar mahasiswa.
