Abstract

Researchers aim to determine the role of parents in supervising the use of gadgets among teenagers aged 13-15 years in the Good Shepherd Parish of Lubuk Pakam. This research is motivated by facts in the field that the role of parents is only to fulfill all the needs of teenagers but they are less aware that monitoring the use of gadgets for teenagers is not running optimally. The research method used is a qualitative research method. Based on qualitative research, the determination of informants was carried out using purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The findings of this research use data collection techniques including interview, observation and documentation techniques. The place where the researcher conducted the research was the Good Shepherd Parish, Lubuk Pakam. The findings of this research show that the role of parents in monitoring the use of gadgets has not been fully implemented. And the results of research regarding the reasons parents give gadgets to teenagers, involving teenagers to think critically in using gadgets, parents limiting the time they use gadgets and what are the positive and negative impacts of using gadgets on teenagers aged 13-15 years

Abstract

Sexuality education is an effort to provide education, knowledge and orientation regarding sexuality from an early age in order to prevent wrong understanding and practice, increase appropriate knowledge, strengthen moral values ​​and positive attitudes regarding sexuality. This article tries to explore the importance of the role or responsibility of parents in dealing with the urgency of the need for knowledge and correct understanding of sexuality in adolescents in the light of the church document, namely the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia. This writing uses the Library Research method by collecting materials sourced from Church documents, journals, books and scientific works related to this theme. The results of this writing confirm that the role of parents is: 1) helping self-knowledge for teenagers according to age development. Adolescents understand their identity, self-identity, needs and responsibilities regarding their role in society. 2) help self-control to help children control themselves and prevent themselves from bad information about sexuality. 3) Provide correct information so that children are able to filter information from other people, including peers and communication media. 4) Raising critical awareness helps children face sexual deviations and has a positive influence on the child's development. 5) building a sense of politeness to help children carry out norms so that they respect each other's differences

Abstract

Research with the theme above is the result of research motivated by the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, which resulted in a change from the offline to online lecture system. This has an impact on the student mentoring process at Pontianak State STAKat. Routine spiritual life assistance activities by lecturers which are usually carried out every day in the morning have been stopped since the pandemic until we are now entering our 3rd year without direct face-to-face contact. The reality is that the influence of this shift in the learning system means that the lecture process is not completely optimal. The aim of this research is to find out and explore how lecturers at STAKat Negeri Pontianak can use e-learning, what e-learning platforms are used, the applications, what are the obstacles, and whether the final goal of teaching is conveyed to the target (students)? This research uses a qualitative approach. The informants in this research were lecturers at the Pontianak State STAKat. The lecture process, which was initially carried out offline, especially as a university that produces candidates for Catholic Religion Teachers, Catechists, is an effort to form prospective pastoral workers who are knowledgeable and faithful, have good behavior, not just make people smart. In the lecture process which has been taking place online for the last 3 years or so, it is hoped that the knowledge conveyed is not just known and studied, but is truly understood and applied in everyday life in real action. Therefore, prospective pastoral workers must continue to experience the process of forming or developing themselves through spiritual life assistance. The findings from the results of this research are that even in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, lecturers, especially Catholic lecturers in the role, are trying as hard as possible to learn using e-learning applications, carrying out lectures while still paying attention to all cognitive aspects and spiritual life support for prospective pastoral workers

Abstract

This research aims to look at the implementation of visual media in Catholic religious education to increase students' interest in learning in class XI RK Delipuri Diski high school. The background to this research stems from the fact that many teachers still teach using the story method so that learning becomes boring and students lack interest in learning. This research uses a qualitative approach. Research data was obtained by observation, interviews and documentation. The research targets were Catholic Religious Teachers and students at RK Deliwarni Diski High School. This research aims to determine the implementation of visual media in Catholic religious education and determine students' learning interests. The research results show that the implementation of visual media has been carried out well in the school and is able to foster students' interest in learning

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the role of Catholic Religious Education Teachers in shaping the disciplined character of Class XI students at Kabanjahe 2 Catholic Private High School. In achieving this goal, research was carried out at Kabanjahe 2 Catholic Private High School. The informants in this research were religious teachers, school principals and students. Teachers have a role as motivators, as role models and as managers of learning. The teacher referred to in this research is a Catholic religious education teacher. Researchers use qualitative research methods. The data collection technique uses 3 (three) activities, namely observation, interviews and documentation. Based on field results, the religion teacher at Private Catholic High School 2 Kabanjahe carries out his role as a teacher, so that he can shape the disciplined character of students. This is characterized by students who obey the rules, do their assignments on time and are loyal in following the teaching and learning process in class.

Abstract

Elementary School Catholic students are Christian believers who are experiencing a process of growth and development both physically and spiritually. The very rapid development of technology and information has had a positive influence in all areas of life. However, it also has a negative impact on children's growth and development. This has encouraged many parties, especially parents, to move quickly and be more serious in responding to this matter, in relation to mentoring their children's faith. This research on the involvement of Catholic elementary school students in Bengkulu City is expected to be able to measure the involvement of students in church life. By using quantitative research methodology, it was found that there are still many Catholic elementary school students who are not or are not involved in church life. This becomes a focal point for parents to increase their attention to their children

Abstract

Manusia dalam hidup selalu dituntut oleh lingkungan sosial salah satunya adalah moral. Manusia sebagai insan bermoral, insan religious dan insan sosial perlu beradaptasi dengan lingkungan tempat tinggalnya. Untuk mencapai insan bermoral, maka pembentukan nilai moral mulai dari keluarga. Orangtua sebagai penanggungjawab kelangsungan hidup anggota keluarganya dituntut untuk mendidik moral kristiani anak sesuai kaidahnya. Fakta dalam masyarakat menunjukan bahwa manusia dewasa ini pemahaman moral sangat memprihatinkan, karena perilaku moral dalam kehidupannya tidak terlihat sebagai insan kristiani yang bermoral. Perilaku korupsi, nepotisme, kolusi, ketidakadilan, tanggung jawab, rela berkorban, cinta kasih, dan sikap takut akan Tuhan. Peneliti berusaha menemukan bagaimana peran orangtua dalam pendidikan moral kristiani anak terutama anak usia 6-12 tahun menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara, informan adalah orangtua dan anak-anak serta pendapat ahli yang paham sungguh tentang masalah moral dan pendidikan moral yang diberikan orangtua kepada anak-anaknya. Tempat penelitian di stasi, paroki wilayah Dairi Keuskupan Agung Medan.

Abstract

Penciptaan adalah proses membuat sesuatu yang baru tanpa menggunakan bahan. Allah menciptakan bumi dan langit, sementara manusia merupakan ciptaan-Nya. Para komponis nyanyian Liturgi juga melakukan penciptaan, meskipun berbeda dengan Allah karena mereka hanya memberi makna atas karyanya. Pemahaman akan makna penciptaan membantu komponis menghayati karya mereka dan mengembangkan talenta seperti yang diharapkan Allah. Surat Apostolik Paus mendorong pengembangan talenta demi kepentingan bersama dan untuk mendekatkan umat kepada Allah. Abstract

The enhancement of religious education within society is influenced by various factors, including culture, which plays a significant role in shaping personalities and knowledge of the Christian faith. This study aims to examine the extent of the influence of "umpasa/umpama" in Batak Toba culture on religious education in the Parish of Saint Paulus Onan Runggu. The research method employed is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The study population comprises adult parishioners of Saint Paulus Onan Runggu, with a sample size of 40 individuals. The validity of the research instrument was tested using the Product Moment correlation formula, and the instrument's reliability was assessed using the Spearman Brown formula. The data analysis showed that the calculated chi-square (x²) was greater than the table chi-square (x²), indicating that the hypothesis could be accepted. The critical value of the Product Moment correlation at a 95% confidence level, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.312 and a sample size (N) of 40, was computed. The hypothesis testing result for the role of "umpasa/umpama" in Batak Toba culture as variable X on religious education in the Parish of Saint Paulus Onan Runggu as variable Y yielded a calculated t-value of 0.708, which was compared to the table value of 0.312. If the calculated t-value exceeds the table value, the hypothesis is accepted; otherwise, it is rejected. Therefore, the hypothesis is accepted, indicating that "umpasa/umpama" in Batak Toba culture significantly influences religious education in the Parish of Saint Paulus Onan Runggu.

Abstract

Catechists are individuals chosen by the Church to introduce Christ to those who do not know Him, especially the youth. Their role is crucial in the Church's evangelization efforts, addressing changing challenges with creativity. As counselors, they assist and accompany young people in finding solutions to their problems. The youth require support from the Church, society, and family for their spiritual development. Crisis of faith often stems from their lack of understanding of their responsibilities. The youth are a vital force in both the Church and society, and the role of catechists as counselors is pivotal in their faith development
