Abstract

This article examines the thought of Muhammad Abduh, a central figure of modern Islamic reform,as a response to the intellectual stagnation and challenges of colonialism in the 19th century. The approachuses a conceptual-philosophical method with critical hermeneutic interpretative analysis of MuhammadAbduh's works textually, intertextually, and contextually. This article analyzes the philosophical foundations,implementation, and influence of Abduh's thought. The results show that Abduh's thought is built on threefundamental pillars: the integration of knowledge, critical rationality, and education as emancipation.Muhammad Abduh's thought is relevant to the views of realism, progressivism, reconstructionism, andreligious humanism, which emphasize an education that is puritanical, progressive, visionary, and glorifieshuman reason. His intellectual legacy has proven to be highly influential transnationally, especially inIndonesia, with the birth of modern Islamic educational institutions such as schools under the auspices ofMuhammadiyah, Al-Irsyad, and Persis. Muhammad Abduh's thought has strong implications forcontemporary Islamic education, particularly in the urgency of developing an integrative curriculum andcultivating critical (ijtihad) and scientific thinking as solutions to the problems of Indonesian Muslims.Keywords: Muhammad Abduh, Philosophy of Education, Islamic Modernism, Al-Azha

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of discipline character education in Civics (PPKn) learning at Junior High Schools. Discipline character education is one of the core values that must be instilled in students as a foundation for building a nation of strong character. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and document study. Research subjects are PPKn teachers, school principals, and students. The results show that the implementation of discipline character education is carried out through three main channels: (1) integration in the classroom learning process, (2) habituation through school activities, and (3) exemplary behavior of teachers and educational staff. Obstacles found include inconsistency in rule enforcement, family environmental influences, and the impact of digital technology. Supporting factors include the principal's commitment, parental support, and positive school culture. This research recommends the need for synergy between school, family, and community in forming students' discipline character holistically and sustainably.Keywords: character education, discipline, PPKn, junior high school, implementation

Abstract

The lack of innovation among teachers in developing instructional media can lead to problems in classroom learning activities. Therefore, this study aims to develop an educational animated cartoon video on the topic of Newton’s Second Law to facilitate learning for tenth-grade senior high school students. The focus of this research is to develop the animated educational video and to determine its effectiveness as alearning medium. This study employs a Research and Development (R&D) method by adopting the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire, and the data analysis was conducted through validation by media experts, subject-matter experts, and language experts. The results show that the developed learning media in the form of an animated cartoon video, created using the Kinemaster application on the topic of Newton’s Second Law, obtained an average validation score of 75, which falls into the “good” category. Furthermore, theaverage score for the effectiveness of the animated video in student learning reached 100, which is categorized as “very effective”.Keywords: Educational Videos, Animated Cartoons, Newton’s Second Law.

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether or not there is an influence of the use of takalintar media (smart multiplication tables) on students' critical thinking skills in fourth grade Mathematics multiplication material at SD N Wonoyoso. This research uses a quantitative approach with the Quasi Experimental Design method with the research design used The Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The variables in this research are the independent variable with symbol X, namely Takalintar media and the dependent variable with symbol Y, namely critical thinking ability. The population in this study was the fourth grade students at Wonoyoso State Elementary School, totaling 48 students. The sample was selected using purposive sampling involving all class IV, namely class IVA with 24 students as the control class (not receiving treatment) and class IVB with 24 students as the experimental class (receiving treatment). The data collection technique uses tests to measure the critical thinking abilities of class IV students through several tests including validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests and homogeneity tests, then data analysis techniques using the t test. The results of the research show that the calculated t value is greater than the t table (5.468 > 2.01063), so it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means "There is an influence of Takalintar media on students' critical thinking abilities in mathematics multiplication material for class IV at Wonoyoso State Elementary School.Keywords: Takalintar Media, students' critical thinking ability

Abstract

Generation Z constitutes the largest age group in Indonesia, growing up as digital natives with unlimited access to social media, making them vulnerable to exposure to religious extremism and intolerance. This study aims to formulate strategies to enhance religious moderation among Gen Z through the lens of Emmanuel Levinas' philosophy, particularly from the perspective of language use on social media. Employing a descriptive qualitative method through in-depth interviews, observations, and literature review in Bojonegoro, Tuban, and Lamongan regencies, the study found that 73% of participants struggled to distinguish between constructive criticism and hate speech, while 34% had been exposed to intolerant content. The application of Levinas' concept of "the face of the Other" proved effective in transforming participants' linguistic behavior toward more inclusive and responsible communication. This study recommends integrating Levinasian ethics into religious education curricula and digital literacy programs to support the eighth agenda of the Asta Cita program on strengthening interreligious tolerance.Keywords:  Religious moderation, Generation Z, Emmanuel Levinas, social media language

Abstract

This research is motivated by the implementation of the independent curriculum in the science and science learning process. The focus of this research is the analysis of curriculum implementation in science and science learning. This research aims to describe in detail the implementation of the independent curriculum in the science and science learning subjects at the Bulan Selopampang Temanggung Elementary School. The type of research used is qualitative research. This research uses triangulation techniques, checking data through interviews, observation and documentation Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, looking at the three aspects of the implementation of the independent curriculum, namely project-based learning through strengthening the Pancasila student profile, focus on essential material, and flexibility for teachers and students, it can be concluded that the implementation of the independent curriculum in the science and science learning subjects At SD Negeri Bulan Selopampang Temanggung it is said that they are very deep in the science and science learning process.
