Abstract

The Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) of Post 21 was implemented in Buyat 1 Village and State Vocational High School 1 Kotabunan to improve adolescent and community health through educational, promotive, and preventive approaches. The main problems identified included early marriage, smoking behavior, substance abuse risks among adolescents, low implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS), limited knowledge of Basic Life Support (BLS), insufficient physical activity, and lack of routine health examinations. The program adopted the GEBETAN (Integrated Education Movement) concept through several activities, including education on early marriage prevention, smoking and narcotics awareness, PHBS promotion for children, BLS training for students, environmental health and nutrition education using local food innovation, healthy walking and exercise activities, and community health screening. The implementation showed increased knowledge, awareness, and active participation among students and community members regarding healthy lifestyles and early disease detection. Support from village authorities, health centers, schools, and the community contributed to program success. Overall, this KKN program positively influenced health awareness and encouraged sustainable healthy behaviors in Buyat 1 Village, making it a relevant model for continuous community service programs.

Abstract

The young Christian generation faces significant challenges in maintaining spiritual independence amid rapid social and cultural shifts. At Beringin Private Middle School, students still struggle with understanding personal worship practices and show limited initiative in growing spiritually through shared prayer, Bible reading, and worship. The widespread and unregulated use of social media, along with increasing social problems, further threatens the ethical and moral stability of youth. This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to raise awareness among Christian youth about the importance of cultivating an independent spiritual life. It also seeks to equip them with practical skills to develop consistent spiritual habits that strengthen their faith and character in facing the pressures of the so-called "strawberry generation," guiding them toward becoming part of Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045. The approach used in this initiative is both participatory and educational, with seminars as the main method of community-based learning. The outcomes of this program indicate that participants gained not only new knowledge but also deeper awareness of the importance of spiritual independence. Their active participation in discussions revealed increased understanding of the negative impact of peer pressure and uncontrolled technology use, as well as new perspectives on how to overcome such issues.

Abstract

Low medication literacy remains one of the factors contributing to irrational drug use in the community. This condition highlights the importance of improving community knowledge, particularly among women cadres who play a role in disseminating health information within their surroundings. This activity aimed to improve women cadres’ knowledge regarding drug classification, traditional medicines, and the DAGUSIBU principles (Get, Use, Store, and Dispose of medicines properly) through the Drug Information Corner Program. The activity was conducted with 26 women cadres in Sinagar Village using an educational method involving presentations and leaflets, complemented by discussions and question-and-answer sessions to enhance participants’ understanding. Knowledge was evaluated through pre-tests and post-tests, and the data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results showed that the mean knowledge score increased from 81.15 in the pre-test to 98.08 in the post-test, representing an increase of 20.86%. The Wilcoxon test results indicated a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.001). The Drug Information Corner Program was proven to improve women cadres’ knowledge regarding drug classification, traditional medicines, and the DAGUSIBU principles, thereby potentially supporting the improvement of medication literacy in the community.

Abstract

In Tiakur City, Southwest Maluku Regency, most MSMEs still face various financial management challenges, including low financial literacy, manual transaction recording, and suboptimal use of digital technology. These conditions make it difficult for MSME owners to prepare financial statements, determine business profits, and make sound business decisions. This situation prompted the Accounting Study Program (PSDKU) at Pattimura University to develop a course titled "Accounting for MSMEs in Small Border Islands (PPKP)," designed to provide a contextual learning experience through direct student involvement in solving real-world MSME problems. This Community Service (PkM) activity integrates the learning process with guidance on using the Sistem Informasi Aplikasi Pencatatan Informasi Keuangan (SI APIK) application for MSME partners in Tiakur City. Students act as field facilitators under faculty supervision, handling needs assessment, training, transaction recording practice, digital financial statement preparation, and application implementation evaluation. The activity employs Project-Based Learning (PjBL) combined with a Participatory Action Learning (PAL) approach, fostering a collaborative learning process among lecturers, students, and partners. The results indicate that partners are able to operate the SI APIK application independently, record transactions digitally, and automatically generate income statements and statements of financial position. Students also gain practical experience in applying accounting, communication, and community facilitation competencies, thereby fulfilling the course's learning outcomes. This program supports the digital transformation of MSMEs in island regions while contributing to the achievement of Pattimura University’s Key Performance Indicators (IKU), PIP, RIP, and Strategic Plan (Renstra) through the integration of education, research, and community service.

Abstract

Kampung Adat Banceuy is a traditional village in Subang Regency with rich Sundanese cultural heritage and prominent natural tourism potential, particularly the Leuwi Lawang hiking trail. However, prior to this program, the trail had no safety Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), had not been officially mapped, and lacked emergency-response readiness, while tourism marketing by the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) still relied on members’ personal social media with limited reach. This community service program aims to improve hiking trail safety standards while strengthening the Pokdarwis digital marketing capacity, using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach implemented through five stages: outreach and field survey, development of hiking and evacuation SOPs, installation of trail markers and handrails, first-aid (P3K) training and simulation, and digital marketing assistance. Results show improved safety readiness through trail mapping, SOP development, and marker installation at hazardous points, as well as improved emergency-response capacity through first-aid training accompanied by the handover of a first-aid kit and stretcher to Pokdarwis. On the marketing side, tourism packages were repackaged, digital marketing training was conducted, paid advertising campaigns were run through Meta Ads, and a booking system was integrated into the WarisanBanceuy.com platform. This program contributes to improved visitor safety, strengthened Pokdarwis self-reliance, and expanded, sustainable marketing reach for the natural and cultural tourism of Kampung Adat Banceuy.

Abstract

Rat pest infestation is a major problem that reduces rice, corn, and cassava yields in Kendel Village, Kemusu Subdistrict, Boyolali Regency. The sulfur fumigation method previously used by farmers is reactive and fails to permanently suppress rat populations. This community service activity aims to address this issue through the construction of an Owl House (Rubuha) that utilizes Tyto alba as a natural predator of field rats, while also enhancing the knowledge and skills of the partner farmer group. The activity was carried out through five stages: observation, needs identification, planning and construction, socialization, and installation with handover. The results show that one Rubuha unit was successfully built and installed at a height of 5 meters, with a socialization attendance rate of 50% of the invited target and high enthusiasm reflected in 15 questions raised during the discussion session. Observation during the first 7 days post-installation showed that the Rubuha remained in good physical condition and ready for occupancy. This activity provides short-term added value in the form of increased farmer understanding, and has the potential to provide long-term impact in the form of reduced rat pest attacks and sustainable savings in pest control costs for the farmer group in Kendel Village.

Abstract

The Holtekamp village government is the pioneer of technology-based public service within the Muara Tami District of Jayapura. This community service initiative aims to improve the knowledge and skills of village officials regarding the evaluation of public service quality—specifically focusing on community satisfaction—through the use of descriptive statistics. Participants consisted of village officials, members of the Village Consultative Body (Bamuskam), and the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) group, all of whom play an active role providing services to the public. By utilizing educational, socialization, and training strategies, the initiative was designed to the partners' specific needs and conditions, ensuring optimal outcomes. The initiative seeks to enhance evaluation practices rooted in scientific methods, promote objective decision-making, and ultimately improve both the institutional quality and the capacity of village government officials. The implementation of data-driven evaluation is expected to foster decision-making that is more objective, transparent, and accountable. Overall, this community service initiative yields benefits by strengthening the capacity of officials, enhancing institutional quality, and cultivating a culture of evidence-based, sustainable service evaluation. Consequently, the Holtekamp Village Government is expected to be capable of developing technology-based public services that are increasingly responsive to the community's needs.

Abstract

Adolescents face increasingly complex mental, physical, and social health challenges in the digital era. Uncontrolled digital media use, academic pressure, and limited emotional regulation skills may affect adaptive capacity and resilience. Objective: This community service program aimed to strengthen adolescent resilience through an integrated approach combining mental health education, digital literacy, and physical activity at SMKN 1 Lebak Wangi, Serang, Banten. Methods: An educational and participatory approach based on digital well-being and resilience strengthening was implemented over six weeks involving 100 third-grade students. The program included the Digital Smart and Strong workshop and the Fit Mind & Body Challenge, covering digital literacy, emotional regulation, stress management, suggestive affirmation, relaxation, and structured physical activities. Evaluation used a one-group pre-test–post-test design with an adolescent resilience scale. Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing resilience scores before and after the program. Results: The mean total resilience score increased from 62.4 to 78.9, with improvements in emotional regulation, self-efficacy, and optimism. The greatest improvement occurred in emotional regulation. Conclusion: An integrated school-based approach may serve as a promotive and preventive strategy to strengthen adolescent resilience while promoting balance among mental health, physical health, and healthy digital behavior.
