Animal Agricultura is an open access journal. It publishes original research articles, reviews, and communications that offer substantial new insight into any field of study that involves livestock and agriculture . Scientifically excellent papers that consider ruminants in the context of genetic or environmental conservation, rural development, or that have significant implications for animal welfare will be particularly welcome, and an interdisciplinary approach is encouraged. Experimental and genomic studies must explain what hypotheses are being tested, and whether new hypotheses are required. Submissions with a strong husbandry, nutritional, meat or dairy science, or genetic focus must make the wider interest of the work very clear. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical research in as much detail as possible. Full experimental details and/or method of study, must be provided for research articles. Articles submitted that involve subjecting animals to unnecessary pain or suffering will not be accepted, and all articles must be submitted with the necessary ethical approval (please refer to the Ethical Guidelines for more information). Our scope is reseach about animal husbandry, such as nutrition, production, reproduction, livestock maanjemen and business, and agricultural sciences such as agronomy, soil science, pests, agricultural engineering, industrial technology, food technology, fisheries, forestry, and agricultural socio-economics. Manuscripts are open to lecturers and researchers related to animal husbandry and agriculture.

Abstract

The study was to examine the effect of feeding silage of complete feed based on sorghum- Clitoria ternatea with increasing level of concentrates containing ZnSO4 and ZnCu isoleucineate on the rumen fermentation of kacang goats. This study used a block randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were T0=Ss-ct without concentrate, T1=Ss-ct concentrate 10%, T2= Ss-ct concentrate 20%, T3= Ss-ct concentrate 30%. The concentrate and contains 150 mg ZnSO4/kg BK concentrate and 2 % ZnCu isoleucineate/kg BK rations. The parameters measured were pH value, ammonia concentration (NH3), and total volatile fatty acid (VFA). The results showed that an increase in the proportion of concentrates containing ZnSO4 and ZnCU isoleucineate in complete feed silage based on sorghum-clitoria ternatea had no significant effect (P>0.05) on pH value, but it had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on NH3 concentration and total VFA. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the complete feeding based on sorghum-clitoria ternatea silage with concentrates containing ZnSo4 and ZnCu isoleucineate does not affect the pH value but has increaes the total NH3 and VFA concentrations. A concentrate level of 20% is the best level of the concentrate supplementation.

Abstract

leaf meal mixture in the basal medium on the utilization of dry matter, crude protein, crude fat, and nutrient conversion in black soldier fly larvae (BSFL). The experiment was designed using a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments (0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40% of the Moringa-Leucaena leaf meal mixture) and four replications. The basal medium consisted of 80% rice bran and 20% cornmeal, fermented for seven days before use. A total of 1000 BSFL were introduced into the fermented medium in each experimental unit, and harvesting was conducted on day 14.The results showed that the addition of the Moringa-Leucaena leaf meal mixture significantly increased dry matter utilization (DMU: 0.17–0.33%), crude protein utilization (CPU: 1.21–1.62%), and crude fat utilization (CFU: 4.00–7.00%), while reducing the feed conversion ratio (FCR: 6.23–3.27). The optimal level for all variables was found in the treatment with 40% Moringa-Leucaena leaf meal mixture. In conclusion, the addition of Moringa-Leucaena leaf meal as a protein source in the basal medium can improve nutrient utilization and feed efficiency in black soldier fly larvae.
