Animal Agricultura is an open access journal. It publishes original research articles, reviews, and communications that offer substantial new insight into any field of study that involves livestock and agriculture . Scientifically excellent papers that consider ruminants in the context of genetic or environmental conservation, rural development, or that have significant implications for animal welfare will be particularly welcome, and an interdisciplinary approach is encouraged. Experimental and genomic studies must explain what hypotheses are being tested, and whether new hypotheses are required. Submissions with a strong husbandry, nutritional, meat or dairy science, or genetic focus must make the wider interest of the work very clear. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical research in as much detail as possible. Full experimental details and/or method of study, must be provided for research articles. Articles submitted that involve subjecting animals to unnecessary pain or suffering will not be accepted, and all articles must be submitted with the necessary ethical approval (please refer to the Ethical Guidelines for more information). Our scope is reseach about animal husbandry, such as nutrition, production, reproduction, livestock maanjemen and business, and agricultural sciences such as agronomy, soil science, pests, agricultural engineering, industrial technology, food technology, fisheries, forestry, and agricultural socio-economics. Manuscripts are open to lecturers and researchers related to animal husbandry and agriculture.

Abstract

The aim of the exploration was to find the organoleptic quality, microbiological quality and fat oxidation of Ongole beef sausage using soy protein flour as an additional ingredient. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and three replications consisting of PO = 0% soy protein with 20% tapioca flour. P1= 5% soy protein flour with 15% tapioca flour. P2 = 10% tapioca flour, 10% soy flour, P3 = 5% tapioca flour, 15% soy flour, P4 = 0% tapioca flour, 20% soy flour. The parameters observed were organoleptic quality, TPC and fat oxidation. The results of analysis of variance show a significant mean (P<0.01) for TPC. However, it is not significant for organoleptic quality (color, taste, aroma and texture) and fat oxidation value. Treatment of soy protein flour with different levels was able to produce favorable values for the same organoleptic parameters. Treatment of soy protein flour combined with tapioca flour (P2 and P3) was able to reduce the TBA value.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the impact of replacing milled corn with fermented banana peel flour (KPF) and Zn-biocomplex supplemented concentrate feed on the blood profile of fattening male Bali cattle. Twelve male Bali cattle aged 2–2.5 years, with a body weight range of 130.5–175.5 kg (coefficient of variation: 7.87%), were used in a completely randomized experimental design. The treatments were as follows: P0 (70% forage + 30% concentrate without KPF substitution), P1 (25% KPF substitution), P2 (50% KPF substitution), and P3 (75% KPF substitution). Results showed erythrocyte levels (10⁶/µl) of P0: 10.06 ± 0.48; P1: 10.37 ± 0.45; P2: 11.06 ± 0.06; P3: 10.26 ± 0.17. Leukocyte levels (10⁴/µl) were P0: 10.68 ± 0.61; P1: 11.56 ± 0.46; P2: 11.14 ± 1.08; P3: 10.75 ± 0.72. Hematocrit levels (%) were P0: 31 ± 2.40; P1: 33.36 ± 1.11; P2: 33.79 ± 1.32; P3: 32.26 ± 1.16. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) indicated no significant differences (P > 0.05) in erythrocyte, leukocyte, or hematocrit levels among treatments. In conclusion, substituting up to 75% of milled corn with KPF in the concentrate feed, combined with Zn-biocomplex supplementation, did not adversely affect the blood profile of fattening male Bali cattle. This suggests that fermented banana peel flour can serve as a viable alternative to corn in cattle feed formulations.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the length of biofermentation time of chromolena odorata with a carbon source of putak flour on the content and digestibility of crude protein and crude fat in vitro. The research method used is an experimental method (experimental) with a Complete Random Design pattern consisting of 4 treatments and 4 repeats so that there are 16 experimental units. The treatment used is LB21: biofermentation duration 21 days (As control), LB14: biofermentation duration 14 days, LB7: biofermentation duration 7 days, LB0: biofermentation duration 0 days. The data were obtained and analyzed by variety analysis (ANOVA), and continued with the Duncan multiple distance test to determine the effect between treatments. The results of statistical analysis showed that the length of biofermentation of Chromolaena odorata with the carbon source of putak  flour had a real effect (P<0,01) On crude protein content, crude fat content and crude protein digestibility in vitro, while on crude fat digestibility in vitro the effect is not real (P<0,05). It can be concluded that the length of biofermnetation of Chromolaena odorata with putak flour source affects crude protein content, crude fat and gauze protein digestibility in vitro but does not affect crude fat digestibility in vitro.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the content and digestibility of the rumen contents of Bali Timor cattle at two different Slaughterhouses (RPH), Bimoku and Aldia, Kupang, using in vitro methods. The research employed an experimental method designed with an analysis using the T-test (comparison test). A total of 15 female Bali Timor cattle from each slaughterhouse were used as replicates (n). The variables observed were the content and digestibility of dry matter (DM) and organic matter (OM). Data were analyzed using the independent sample t-test at a 5% significance level to compare the rumen contents quality of RPH Bimoku and RPH CV Aldia. The T-test results showed that the dry matter (DM) content at RPH CV Aldia was significantly (p > 0.05) higher than that at RPH Bimoku; organic matter (OM) at RPH CV Aldia was highly significant (p > 0.01) higher than that at RPH Bimoku; the digestibility of dry matter (DMD) and organic matter (OMD) at RPH CV Aldia was highly significant (p > 0.01) higher than that at RPH Bimoku. It is concluded that the difference in slaughterhouse location causes differences in the content of dry matter, organic matter, and their digestibility in the rumen contents of Bali Timor cattle.
