Abstract

The concept behind meeting current sustainable development aims to meet needs without endangering the capacity of future generations to meet their own. In this sense, ensuring the achievement of sustainable development goals depends heavily on legislation. The application of sustainable development and its encouragement are greatly aided by the law. Through appropriate regulations, effective law enforcement, and the application of principles of justice, law can be a main pillar in achieving development objectives that prioritize not just economic advancement but also environmental preservation and social welfare for future generations. Overall, the role of law in sustainable development is crucial. Law not only regulates but also protects the rights of the community and the environment, and ensures that development is carried out in a sustainable and responsible manner. With a strong legal framework, Indonesia can achieve sustainable development goals that balance economic, social, and environmental needs.

Abstract

In particular for teenagers, Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of sickness and death worldwide, and breast self-examination is an essential tool for its early diagnosis, and knowledge of the importance of this examination is essential to prevent this disease. Performing breast self-examination regularly helps adolescents to recognize changes in their breasts. In addition, breast self-examination also serves as an initial step to detect abnormalities, which if found early, can increase the chances of recovery. Although many adolescents already understand the importance of breast self-examination, additional socialization and motivation are still needed to encourage them to carry out regular examinations. Educational activities that involve direct interaction and discussion can increase adolescents' understanding and awareness of breast cancer and how crucial early identification is. The application of self-examination for breast cancer in preventing breast cancer in adolescents is very important and must be supported by effective education and ongoing motivation.

Abstract

Taxes play an important role in reducing economic inequality by redistributing income and increasing access to public services. Progressive tax systems, which focus on higher incomes, have been proven effective in reducing economic inequality. Studies reveal that funds collected from progressive taxes can be used to fund social programs such as education, health, and social assistance, all of which contribute to improving the welfare of vulnerable groups. However, the effectiveness of tax policy in reducing inequality largely depends on its proper design and implementation. Poorly designed taxes, such as flat consumption taxes, can be detrimental and increase the economic burden on low-income groups. Therefore, it is important to design fair and progressive tax policies and implement effective systems to ensure compliance and fairness in tax collection. Furthermore, various studies emphasize that tax policy alone is not sufficient to reduce economic inequality. Tax interventions need to be supported by other economic and social policies, such as fair minimum wage policies, inclusive education, and adequate social protection. This combination of policies creates a more inclusive and equitable ecosystem, where every individual has equal opportunities to improve their welfare. Overall, tax is an important tool in addressing economic inequality, but it requires a multi-layered and collaborative approach between various policies. Reforms in the tax system need to be aligned with policies on resource redistribution and improving access to essential public services to support the creation of a more equitable and inclusive society.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of government assistance in increasing economic independence through micro-enterprises in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. Involving 200 respondents selected through stratified random sampling, the study reveals that 70% of aid recipients experienced an average income increase of 30%, and 65% felt the aid helped them expand their business. Statistical analysis shows a significant positive correlation between the amount of aid and economic independence (correlation coefficient 0.65, p < 0.05). Factors influencing the effectiveness of aid include access to capital, skill training, bureaucracy, and lack of mentoring. These findings highlight the need for a more holistic approach and sustainable support to maximize the impact of government assistance.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the social welfare services provided to street children, with a focus on basic needs such as education, health, social protection and economic empowerment. Data was collected through literature review. The results of the analysis show that existing social welfare services are still not comprehensive and not well coordinated among various stakeholders such as the government, NGOs, and health and education institutions. In addition, social stigma towards street children is a significant obstacle to the effectiveness of existing programs. To overcome this problem, it is recommended to strengthen multi-stakeholder collaboration networks, increase capacity and service infrastructure, as well as develop programs based on data from monitoring and evaluation results. With a comprehensive and sustainable approach, it is hoped that social welfare services can be more effective in improving the quality of life of street children and increasing their opportunities for a better future.

Abstract

Legal protection for consumers in Shopee e-commerce online buying and selling is reviewed from Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection. Electronic Commerce or e-commerce is one of the products of the times. This type of business transaction provides convenience and has many advantages compared to conventional or offline transactions. Consumer protection laws provide protection for consumers in Indonesia. Conflicts between business actors are based on unexpected things by consumers beforehand. The weak position of consumers with business actors in conducting online transactions is certainly very detrimental to consumers. Crimes in online media against the purchase and sale of products in the premises are the same as the crime of fraud. Conventional and online buying and selling differ only in the means of action, namely using an Electronic System. The purpose of this study is to find out how the law in Indonesia provides protection to consumers and how efforts are made by the government in developing or updating legal protection for consumers who make transactions through Shopee e-commerce. This study uses normative law research methods. Using a statute approach and a conceptual approach. Law Number 8 of 1999 (UUPK), Law Number 19 of 2016 (ITE Law) and Law as primary law. Secondary legal materials use books containing consumer protection, electronic trading books and utilize journals and articles that can be downloaded through websites available online. The results of this study discuss legal protection for consumers in conducting online transactions from the perspective of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. The online transaction process has a distinctive characteristic where the medium used is the internet so that business actors and consumers do not meet directly. On the one hand, this condition is very beneficial for consumers, because consumers have many options to get the goods they buy, but on the other hand, violations of consumer rights are very risky, therefore legal protection for consumers in online transactions is needed.
