Abstract

The application of machine learning in computing has become one of the most significant developments in modern technology. This study examines a range of use cases from various sectors, including healthcare, finance and transport, which demonstrate how machine learning can improve the efficiency, accuracy and capabilities of computer systems. Through case study analysis, it is shown that machine learning is capable of automating complex tasks and providing deep insights. However, the implementation of this technology also faces a number of challenges, such as the need for high-quality data, model interpretability issues, and high computational costs. Furthermore, there are ethical and legal issues to be considered, especially in relation to privacy and potential bias in the models. This research highlights the importance of a careful approach and appropriate strategies to overcome these barriers, in order to fully utilise the potential of machine learning while minimising the risks involved.

Abstract

The green building concept is a strategy to reduce global warming caused by the construction sector. The application of the green building concept is increasingly becoming an important topic in modern housing development to reduce negative impacts on the environment in improving the quality of life of its occupants. Green buildings not only focus on energy efficiency and waste reduction but also pay attention to the health of occupants and harmonious integration with the surrounding environment. The application of the green building concept in Summarecon housing has met the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) standards, but due to the need for occupant space, the homeowner changed the green open area, which resulted in the house no longer meeting GBCI standards. This change was caused by the need for a lot of homeowner space, resulting in excessive electricity use and suboptimal air ventilation. This research method was carried out using a qualitative method, this study aims to determine the application of the post-occupancy green building concept in Summarecon Mutiara housing, Makassar City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze working capital management in multinational companies, focusing on centralized cash management, cash flow optimization, and excess cash investment. In the context of multinational companies, efficient cash management is essential to ensure adequate liquidity, reduce dependence on external financing, and increase profitability. Centralized cash management allows companies to consolidate all funds owned and optimize cash flow across various branches or subsidiaries.Meanwhile, cash flow optimization is carried out through efficient cash cycle management, by accelerating receipts and slowing debt payments. Excess cash investment, which consists of funds not used in operational activities, is an important source for companies to increase returns while maintaining sufficient liquidity. This study also explores the application of technology in cash management, such as the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and integrated cash management systems, which enable faster and more accurate decision making in cash flow management and excess cash investment. The results of the study indicate that good cash management can improve operational efficiency and strengthen the financial position of multinational companies, with a positive impact on long-term performance. Therefore, the right working capital management strategy is essential for multinational companies to survive and thrive in a dynamic global market.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to elucidate the mediating effect of satisfaction on the relationship between e-service quality, utilitarian value, sales promotion, and the intention to reuse online food delivery services. The research population comprises individuals who utilize online meal delivery services in Denpasar City, with an undisclosed quantity. A purposive sampling strategy was employed to select a sample size of 210 individuals. The employed analytical methodology involves the utilization of Path Analysis through Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings of the study indicate that e-service quality, utilitarian value, and sales promotions exert a favorable and statistically significant impact on both consumer happiness and the desire to reuse online food delivery services. Similarly, it may be observed that satisfaction plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between e-service quality, utilitarian value, sales promotion, and reuse intentions. Hence, it is essential for service providers to continually enhance the quality of e-service quality, utilitarian value, and sales promotions to augment consumer satisfaction and foster the intention to reuse online meal delivery services.

Abstract

The use of technology has transformed how students learn English, especially in the digital era. Understanding students' attitudes toward this shift is essential for enhancing their learning outcomes. This study examines the attitudes of fourth-semester English Department students at Gorontalo State University, focusing on cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects. A quantitative approach was applied by distributing close-ended questionnaires online using Google Forms. The data were analyzed based on the Three Component Attitude Model. The results show that students generally have a positive attitude toward English learning supported by technology. The cognitive aspect achieved the highest score (86%), highlighting students’ belief in the benefits of English for career opportunities and global communication. Meanwhile, the behavioral aspect also showed active participation in using digital platforms (79%). However, the affective aspect scored lower (73%), reflecting mixed feelings about the use of technology in learning. These findings suggest that while students are open to using technology, further efforts are needed to address emotional barriers and optimize engagement. Educators are encouraged to incorporate digital tools creatively to foster a more effective and enjoyable learning experience.

Abstract

This study explores illocutionary acts in the Enola Holmes 2 movie, employing a descriptive qualitative approach to identify and categorize the various types of illocutionary acts used in the dialogue. Drawing from Searle's theory of speech acts, the research focuses on analyzing the language used by the characters to understand the illocutionary functions behind their utterances. The study identifies several categories of illocutionary acts, with directive acts being the most prevalent. This finding suggests that the characters frequently use language to influence the behaviour or actions of others, reflecting the dynamic interactions and power relations within the narrative. In addition, expressive, commissive, and declarative acts are also analyzed, showcasing how each type contributes to character development and plot progression. The research highlights the importance of illocutionary acts in shaping the film’s discourse and enhancing the communication between characters. Based on these findings, it is recommended that further studies focus on the relationship between illocutionary acts and character psychology in cinematic discourse, as well as explore how these acts can be used to engage and manipulate the audience’s emotions. By identifying these speech acts, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the role of language in film and its impact on audience interpretation
