Abstract

The development of 21st-century technology has brought significant changes to the world of education, including in Islamic Religious Education learning. However, the use of Artificial Intelligence technology in Islamic Religious Education learning is still not optimal and has not been systematically integrated. This study aims to analyze the use of Artificial Intelligence technology in Islamic Religious Education learning at SMPN 3 Wonosobo. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results show that the use of Artificial Intelligence technology in Islamic Religious Education learning at SMPN 3 Wonosobo is quite developed, although it is still in the development stage. Artificial Intelligence is used by students to search for materials, answer questions, and create summaries, thereby increasing the effectiveness of learning and student learning independence. From the teacher's perspective, the use of Artificial Intelligence has been quite good in compiling teaching materials, creating questions, and planning lessons. However, the use of Artificial Intelligence has not been formally integrated into learning tools. In addition, there are several obstacles, such as limited student facilities, technical constraints, and lack of training for teachers. Therefore, facilities and training are needed to optimize the use of Artificial Intelligence technology in Islamic Religious Education learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of student and teacher ethics in the book Taisirul Khalaq by Hafidz Hasan Mas'udi and its relevance to education in the modern era. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research. The main data source is the book Taisirul Khalaq, while secondary data are obtained from various relevant literature. Data collection techniques are carried out through documentation studies and online data searches, with analysis using content analysis and discourse analysis methods. The results show that student ethics include ethics towards oneself, teachers, and fellow friends, such as avoiding arrogance, being honest, humble, maintaining the trust of knowledge, and respecting teachers and honoring friends. Meanwhile, teacher ethics include the qualities of piety, humility, gentleness, and ethics in teaching, such as being wise, compassionate, giving advice, and not burdening students beyond their capabilities. These ethical concepts have strong relevance to education in the modern era, especially in responding to the moral crisis, declining respect for teachers, and the challenges of technological development. Therefore, the ethical values in this book are important to be internalized in education in order to form a generation that is knowledgeable and has noble morals

Abstract

Teacher-centered learning that emphasizes memorization often limits students’ critical thinking and active participation. In Islamic Religious Education, students tend to become passive learners, making creative teaching strategies necessary to encourage critical thinking and active engagement. This study examines the creative strategies employed by Islamic Religious Education teachers in developing the critical thinking skills of class VIII B students at MTs Darutholibin Watumalang Wonosobo. The study was motivated by teacher-centered learning practices that emphasize memorization and limit students’ active involvement in higher-order thinking processes. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, while data validity was tested using source and method triangulation. The data analysis process included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that teachers implemented creative learning strategies through a flexible combination of lectures, contextual approaches, and discussions. Lectures were used to deliver fundamental concepts, contextual approaches connected learning materials with students’ real-life experiences, and discussions encouraged active participation and idea exchange. The implementation of these strategies contributed to increased student activity, confidence in expressing opinions, and the ability to analyze and relate learning materials critically. However, the improvement in students’ critical thinking skills was not evenly distributed, as it was influenced by factors such as learning motivation, self-confidence, and the surrounding learning environment.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the continued presence of bullying behavior at MTs Ahmad Yani Wonotunggal and the gap between the learning objectives of Akidah Akhlak and the reality of student behavior. Research objectives: (1) to describe the characteristics of bullying behavior among seventh-grade students, (2) to analyze the implementation of Akidah Akhlak instruction, and (3) to identify the role of Akidah Akhlak instruction in preventing bullying. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Research subjects included Akidah Akhlak teachers, seventh-grade students, homeroom teachers, and the madrasah principal. Data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman model, and data validity was tested through source and method triangulation. Research findings: (1) Bullying behavior is predominantly verbal (taunting, negative nicknames) and social (mild exclusion, gossip). Causal factors include individual factors (low self-control, lack of empathy), family (inadequate parenting, low supervision), school (weak supervision, lack of a reporting system), and peers (conformity pressure). (2) The implementation of Akidah Akhlak instruction has been in accordance with Ministerial Decree No. 183 of 2019, featuring relevant content on praiseworthy and blameworthy moral conduct; however, the teaching method remains predominantly lecture-based, and assessment focuses primarily on cognitive aspects. (3) The role of Akidah Akhlak education is quite effective in the cognitive aspect (students understand the prohibition of bullying in Islam), but limited in the affective aspect (empathy is normative) and minimal in the psychomotor aspect (no training in skills to refuse or report bullying). Teachers act as role models, dialogue facilitators, and spiritual counselors, but lack systemic support from the school. Akidah Akhlak education plays a role but is not yet optimal in preventing bullying; therefore, strengthening of methods, evaluation, and collaboration among school stakeholders is needed.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Smart Muslim Spinner (SMS), an interactive learning medium, in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning for Grade V students at SD N 1 Kubang Banjarnegara. The study addresses the need for engaging learning media to increase student participation and understanding of IRE material. A qualitative descriptive approach with a field research design was employed. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the IRE teacher and Grade V students. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of SMS consisted of three stages: preparation, classroom implementation, and assessment of learning outcomes. The use of SMS created a more interactive and engaging learning environment by involving students in game-based question-and-answer activities. Students demonstrated greater enthusiasm, participation, and focus during lessons, while the play-based learning process facilitated their understanding of the material. Supporting factors included teacher readiness, innovative instructional design, and student motivation. Challenges encountered were increased classroom noise and the need for regular maintenance of the learning medium. The study concludes that the Smart Muslim Spinner is an effective alternative interactive learning medium for Islamic Religious Education at the elementary school level, as it promotes active participation and supports students’ comprehension of learning materials

Abstract

Improving student learning outcomes and engagement in science remains a challenge in Indonesian elementary schools, highlighting the need for effective teaching methods. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the experimental method on student learning achievement in the subject of science for grade IV at MI Ma'arif Gondang Watumalang Wonosobo, as well as to analyze the improvement in learning outcomes and student responses to learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the non-equivalent control group design. The subjects of the study consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class with a total of 32 students each. Data collection techniques include tests (pretest and posttest) and student response questionnaires. The results of the study showed that there was a significant increase in student learning achievement in the experimental class after the application of the experimental method. The average pretest score of the experimental class was 45.81, increasing to 82.47 in the posttest, while the control class increased from 39.81 to 67.90. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, which means there is a significant effect of the experimental method on student learning achievement. In addition, the results of the N-Gain analysis showed that the increase in learning outcomes in the experimental class was in the medium to high category (68.77), higher than the control class (50.61). Student responses to experimental learning also showed positive results, where students were more active, enthusiastic, and easily understood the material.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Boarding School Tahfidz (BST) Model in improving students’ mastery of Qur’anic memorization at MTs Negeri 1 Purworejo, identify the supporting and inhibiting factors of the program, and analyze the level of students’ Qur’anic memorization mastery. This research employed a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that the implementation of BST was carried out through a boarding school education system that incorporated various tahfidz activities, including ziyadah (adding new memorization), muraja’ah (reviewing memorization), sorogan (individual recitation), simak-simakan (peer listening and correction), and tasmi’ (public recitation of memorization). The supporting factors of the program included a conducive boarding school environment, students’ discipline, exemplary guidance from supervisors, and parental support. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors consisted of differences in students’ memorization abilities, boredom, physical fatigue, and difficulties in maintaining previously memorized verses. The level of students’ memorization mastery was categorized as good, as most students were able to achieve the memorization targets while maintaining fluency, proper tajwid application, and consistency in muraja’ah. The BST program proved effective in improving the quality of Qur’anic memorization while simultaneously fostering students’ religious character and discipline

Abstract

In the midst of increasing concerns over moral decline and challenges in character formation among students, the values of adab contained in Qur'anic narratives offer important guidance for contemporary education. This study aims to analyze the values of adab in the interpersonal relationship between Prophet Musa and Prophet Khiddir as presented in Surah Al-Kahfi verse 66 and their implementation in character education in contemporary schools. The research employed a qualitative approach using library research. Primary data were obtained from several Qur’anic commentaries, namely Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Tafsir Al-Mishbah, Tafsir Al-Qurthubi, and Tafsir Fathul Qadhir, while secondary data were collected from books, journals, scientific articles, and other relevant literature. Data collection was conducted through documentation techniques and analyzed using content analysis and the tahlili interpretation method. The findings reveal that Surah Al-Kahfi verse 66 contains important values of adab in interpersonal relations, namely humility (tawadhu’), patience, and enthusiasm for learning. The value of humility is reflected in Prophet Musa polite request to learn from Prophet Khiddir, while patience and enthusiasm for learning are demonstrated through his persistence in following the learning process. These values are highly relevant to character education in contemporary schools. Their implementation can be carried out through teachers’ role modeling, habituation of respectful attitudes toward teachers and peers, strengthening discipline and patience in learning, and creating an educational environment that supports students’ character development. Therefore, the story of Prophet Musa and Prophet Khiddir can serve as a pedagogical foundation for shaping a generation that is well-mannered, respectful, and possesses good character in both social and academic life
