Abstract

Ecotourism is increasingly recognized as a sustainable tourism model that integrates environmental conservation with community empowerment. Banyu Biru, a natural spring located in Sumberejo Village, Pasuruan Regency, offers significant ecological, cultural, and historical value. However, this potential remains underutilized due to limited infrastructure, low community involvement, and lack of diversified tourism services. This study aims to explore the potential and challenges of developing community-based ecotourism in Banyu Biru and to formulate strategies to enhance local welfare through sustainable tourism practices. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method supported by a SWOT analysis framework. Data were collected through interviews, field observations, and questionnaires involving 100 community respondents over a one-month research period. The analysis identified internal strengths such as natural resources and cultural assets, as well as weaknesses including poor infrastructure and minimal tourism diversification. External opportunities such as increased demand for nature-based tourism and government support were also observed, along with threats like environmental degradation and regional competition. Findings reveal that the implementation of a community-based ecotourism strategy has led to increased community income, the emergence of micro-enterprises, and growing local awareness about environmental and cultural preservation. Despite these positive developments, only 62% of respondents experienced direct economic benefits, indicating the need for more inclusive planning. In conclusion, Banyu Biru holds promising potential as a model for sustainable, community-driven ecotourism. Strategic interventions focusing on infrastructure, local participation, and product diversification are essential to ensure long-term socio-economic and ecological impact.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has fundamentally transformed the way society communicates and consumes information, particularly through social media. Amidst the rapid and massive flow of information, sentiment analysis has become an essential tool for understanding public opinion. This study explores the use of machine learning as an analytical approach to identify and classify users' sentiments toward specific issues on social media. Through case studies on Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram, machine learning algorithms such as Naive Bayes and Support Vector Machine were used to map public sentiment trends positive, negative, or neutral toward specific communication campaigns. The results indicate that machine learning can provide a faster, more accurate, and more dynamic sentiment analysis compared to manual methods. These findings serve as a strategic foundation for communication practitioners in designing more targeted, responsive, and data-driven messages. Thus, integrating machine learning into digital communication strategies not only enhances the effectiveness of message delivery but also strengthens the relationship between institutions and the public in an increasingly complex information age.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism development necessitates adaptive governance frameworks that prioritize both the perceptions and active engagement of local communities. This study investigates the perspectives of long-term residents in two emerging coastal destinations in Quang Ngai province–Ly Son Island and the Sa Huynh Beach Area–with regard to the perceived impacts of tourism. Data were collected from a randomly selected sample of 300 residents using a structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale. The Kruskal-Wallis H test indicated statistically significant differences between the two sites. Respondents in Ly Son Island showed a more explicit awareness of both the positive outcomes of tourism (e.g., job creation, infrastructure development) and its adverse effects (e.g., environmental degradation, overcrowding). Conversely, residents in the Sa Huynh Beach Area expressed more cautious views, likely reflecting the nascent stage of tourism development in the locality. Drawing on these findings, the study recommends destination-specific governance strategies: for Ly Son Island, a more regulated development model with enhanced mechanisms for community consultation is suggested; for the Sa Huynh Beach Area, efforts should center on capacity building and the promotion of community-based tourism initiatives.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of compensation and rewards on employee performance at PT Trimega Pasivic Indonesia. The research employs a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to employees directly involved in the company’s operational activities. The independent variables in this study consist of compensation and rewards, while the dependent variable is employee performance. The results of the analysis indicate that both compensation and rewards have a positive and statistically significant effect on employee performance, both simultaneously and partially. These findings underscore the critical importance of implementing a fair and well-structured compensation and reward system to enhance employee productivity and job satisfaction, which ultimately contributes to the overall success of the company. This study is expected to provide theoretical contributions to the development of human resource management literature, as well as practical implications for organizations in optimizing employee performance management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of local communities in the management of community-based tourism (CBT) in Labuhan Haji Beach, East Lombok, as well as identify challenges and strategies to strengthen this role in supporting the sustainability of coastal tourism. The method used is a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies. The informants consisted of Pokdarwis administrators, tourism business actors, village governments, and domestic tourists. The results of the study show that local communities play a role in four main aspects: (1) destination operational management (cleanliness, security, tourism services), (2) environmental and cultural preservation, (3) local economic development through diversification of tourism businesses, and (4) participation in local institutions, especially through Pokdarwis. Apart from this, the level of community participation is still at the consultative and functional level, not yet achieving strategic partnerships in decision-making. The main challenges include weak human resource capacity, limited capital, unstable Pokdarwis institutions, lack of infrastructure, and not optimal digital promotion of destinations. This study recommends strengthening strategies through community capacity building, inclusive co-management models, development of cultural and ecological-based tourism products, and marketing digitalization. These findings contribute to strengthening the implementation of CBT in coastal areas as well as practical implications for governments and tourism stakeholders.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy, income, and expenditure control on household financial management among housewives in Tangar Hamlet, Setungkep Lingsar Village. This research employs a quantitative approach with an associative design. The sample consisted of 152 housewives selected through simple random sampling from a population of 244 individuals. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using classical assumption tests and multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS. The findings reveal that income has a positive and significant effect on household financial management, indicated by a t-value of 4.274 > 1.976 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Meanwhile, financial literacy does not have a significant effect, as shown by a t-value of 1.360 < 1.976 and a significance value of 0.176 > 0.05. Similarly, expenditure control does not significantly influence financial management, with a t-value of 1.646 < 1.976 and a significance value of 0.102 > 0.05. However, simultaneously, financial literacy, income, and expenditure control significantly affect household financial management, as indicated by an F-value of 18.589 > 2.67 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. These findings confirm that income is the dominant factor determining the effectiveness of household financial management, while financial literacy and expenditure control need to be strengthened to contribute more substantially to household financial management practices among housewives.

Abstract

Sanitation and hygiene are essential components of sustainable tourism, yet their role as publicly consumed information on digital platforms has received limited scholarly attention. This study examines how the quality of sanitation hygiene information on digital maps influences visit intention to tourism villages through perceived usefulness and information trust, drawing on an extended Technology Acceptance Model. Using survey data from 150 digital map users, the findings indicate that sanitation hygiene information quality positively affects perceived usefulness and trust, which in turn significantly increase visit intention. These results suggest that improving the visibility, accuracy, and credibility of sanitation hygiene information on digital maps represents a cost-effective strategy to support sustainable tourism governance and destination competitiveness.

Abstract

This study examines strategies for optimizing human resource management (HRM) to enhance operational effectiveness in a community-based hospitality enterprise, Peraja Coffee and Bungalow, located in East Lombok. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving six key informants representing managerial and operational roles. The data were analyzed thematically through systematic coding, categorization, and interpretation. The findings reveal that HRM practices are predominantly informal yet highly adaptive, characterized by community-based recruitment, on-the-job training, and trust-based performance evaluation. Career development is facilitated through internal mentoring and social recognition rather than formal promotion systems, which effectively strengthens employee motivation, loyalty, and retention. This study contributes theoretically by extending contextual HRM literature through empirical evidence from a rural, community-based hospitality setting, highlighting how social values and participatory culture can function as strategic HRM mechanisms. Practically, the findings offer actionable insights for medium-scale hospitality enterprises, particularly in developing regions, on how integrating social capital with professional HRM practices can improve operational effectiveness and support long-term business sustainability.

Abstract

This study examines how urban mobility, accessibility, and mobility justice shape tourism flows in Jakarta, a rapidly developing metropolitan destination. It investigates the gap between planned accessibility in transport infrastructure and the actual accessibility experienced by tourists and local residents in their daily mobility practices. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with tourism and transport authorities, community representatives, and visitors, supplemented by field observations and analysis of relevant policy documents. The data were analyzed thematically to identify patterns related to accessibility, walkability, last-mile connectivity, and mobility justice. The findings reveal that despite improvements in multimodal transport systems and pedestrian infrastructure, accessibility remains uneven across the city. Challenges such as inadequate last-mile connectivity, discontinuous walkways, and inconsistent barrier-free design continue to shape visitor movement and reinforce mobility inequalities, particularly for residents of informal settlements and vulnerable groups. The novelty of this research lies in integrating mobility justice into urban tourism analysis by linking transport planning intentions with lived mobility experiences in a Global South megacity context. This study highlights the need to embed mobility justice principles in urban tourism and transport planning to ensure inclusive, sustainable, and human-centered development in Jakarta.
