Abstract

This article examines Paul's perspective on slavery in early Christianity with a focus on the concept of spiritual equality and views on spiritual freedom. Although Paul did not explicitly call for the physical liberation of slaves, the concept of spiritual equality in Christ became a moral basis that highlighted the dignity of every individual regardless of social status. Paul's view of spiritual freedom was interpreted as a potential encouragement to support physical and social liberation, although it did not propose direct changes in law or policy. This research also details possible responses of early Christian communities to this concept in practical contexts, including efforts to support human rights and create an ethical environment that respects the values ​​of freedom and human dignity.

Abstract

This research explores the role of the Toraja Church and Tallu Lolona in integrating local traditions into religious practices. Through interviews, observations, and document analysis, we found that the Toraja Church has successfully created a harmonious model between Christian faith and Toraja cultural heritage. Tallu Lolona, as a spiritual leader, plays a central role in maintaining this balance. These findings provide deep insights into the unique dynamics between tradition and faith in the Toraja Church, with a positive impact on the spiritual and cultural life of the community.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between the Project Based Learning learning model in increasing the learning creativity of Christian Religious Education for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Purba. The method used in this research is an inferential descriptive quantitative method. The population was all class VIII students from class VIII-1 to VIII-6 who were Protestant Christians, totaling 155 people and a sample of 39 people was determined using purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using a positive closed questionnaire with 34 items, namely 16 items for variable proven by data analysis as follows: 1) positive relationship test obtained value rxy = 0.488 > r table(a=0.05,n=39) = 0.316 thus it is known that there is a positive relationship between variable X and variable Y, and the value rxy 0.488 if classified into the correlation coefficient is in the medium category. 2) Testing a significant relationship obtained a value of tcount= 3.397 > t table(a=0.05,dk=n-2=37)=2.021, thus there is a significant relationship between variable X and variable Y. So Ha says there is a positive relationship and the significance of the Project Based Learning model in increasing the Learning Creativity of Christian Religious Education for Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 1 Purba was accepted and H0 which said there was no relationship was rejected.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the positive and significant influence of the Exemplary Christian Education Teacher on the Character of Class X Students of SMK Negeri 1 Raya, Simalungun Regency in the 2023/2024 Academic Year. The research method used was a quantitative method with descriptive statistics. The population was 159 Protestant Christian students of class X of SMK Negeri 1 Raya, Simalungun Regency in the 2023/2024 Academic Year and a sample of 40 people was determined using a random sampling technique. Data were collected using a positive closed questionnaire of 39 items, namely 20 items for variable X and 19 items for variable Y. The results of the data analysis showed that there was a positive and significant influence of the Exemplary Christian Religious Education Teachers on the Character of Class X Students of SMK Negeri 1 Raya, Simalungun Regency in the 2023/2024 Academic Year, as evidenced by the following data analysis: 1) Analysis requirements test: a) Positive relationship test obtained rxy value = 0.479> rtable ( = 0.05, n = 40) = 0.312. b) Significant relationship test obtained tcount = 3.364> ttable ( = 0.05, dk = n-2 = 38) = 2.021. 2) Influence test: a) Regression equation test Y ̂="2.85" + 0.79X. b) Regression determination coefficient test (r2) = 22.9%. 3) Hypothesis testing using the F test obtained Fcount > Ftable = ( = 0.05, df numerator k = 13, df denominator = n-2 = 40-2 = 38) which is 11.3 > 2.00. Thus Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the positive and significant influence of Religious Education Teachers' Communication Skills on the Effectiveness of Students' Learning in Religious Education and Character Subjects in Class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Balige for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. The method used in this research is an inferential quantitative method. The population was all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Balige who were Protestant Christians, totaling 227 people, and the research sample was determined to be 56 people, namely 25% of the total population. Data was collected using a positive closed questionnaire with 44 items. The results of the data analysis show that there is a positive and significant influence on the communication skills of PAK teachers on the effectiveness of students' learning in the PAK and Character subjects for Class VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Balige for the 2023/2024 academic year, proven through the following data analysis: 1) Requirement test analysis: a) a positive relationship test obtained a value of rxy = 0.520 > ttable(a=0.05,n=56) = 0.226, thus it is known that there is a positive relationship between variable X and variable Y. b) A significant relationship test was obtained tcount= 4.479 > ttabel(a=0,05,dk=n-2=54))= 2.000, thus there is a significant relationship between variable X and variable Y. 2) Test the effect: a) Test the regression equation, obtain the regression equation Y ̂="21.41"+0.48X. b) Regression coefficient of determination test (r2) = 27.1%. 3) Test the hypothesis using the F test to obtain Fcount > Ftable =(a=0.05, dk numerator k=29, dk denominator=n-2=56-2=54) namely 20.01 > 1.39. Thus it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out whether there is a difference in the learning activity of students who use the reciprocal teaching model compared to conventional ones in class VIII Christian Religious Education and Character education at SMP Negeri 2 Pollung for the 2023/2024 academic year. The research hypothesis is: "The Reciprocal Teaching Model has a positive and significant effect on the Learning Activeness of Christian Religious Education and Character Education Students in Class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Pollung for the 2023/2024 Academic Year." The population is all students who are Protestant Christians in Class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Pollung which consists of 6 classes totaling 180 students. The research sample was determined using the Purposive Sampling technique, namely 30 students in class VIII5 as the experimental class which used the reciprocal teaching model and 30 students in class VIII4 as the control class which used ordinary treatment (conventional class). This research method is the Quasi Experimental Design method using a Nonequivalent Control Design. The instrument used in this research was a test with 30 items. Research data for the questionnaire was analyzed using the average difference test formula (N-Gain Score). It was found that the average value for the experimental class was 0.6370 in the medium category, while the average value for the control class was 0.2531. in the low category so it is known that increasing the Learning Activeness of Class VIII Christian Religious Education and Character Education students at SMP Negeri 2 Pollung for the 2023/2024 academic year is more effective using the Reciprocal Teaching model than using conventional treatment. Then carrying out an independent test using the t test obtained a value of t = 7.040 > t table (α = 0.05; df = 58) = 2,000. Thus, it can be concluded that the research hypothesis is accepted, namely that there is a difference in the learning activity of students before and after learning with the Reciprocal Teaching Model in Learning Christian Religious Education and Character Education for Class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Pollung for the 2023/2024 Academic Year and H0 is rejected.

Abstract

The sacrament of Baptism is often referred to as the gateway to enter the community of believers in Jesus, especially in the Catholic Church, because it is the first sacrament received. Other sacraments can only be received after receiving the sacrament of Baptism. By receiving the sacrament of Baptism, a person can receive his rights and obligations as a Catholic. In the rite of receiving the sacrament of Baptism, one of the important parties to be considered is the godparents, or often also called the godfather or godmother. Its presence does not merely fulfil the requirements of formality, which is then recorded in the Baptismal Book or Liber Baptizatorum; but it has a certain role before and after the celebration of baptism.

Abstract

The group investigation type cooperative learning method is a cooperative learning model that is based on group discussions and involves students in small groups, compiling material and creating a learning environment that allows students to be brave and appear confident in expressing ideas or opinions, enjoy collaborating, actively participating. , so that students get a meaningful learning experience. The group investigation type learning method encourages students to be actively involved in learning planning from the beginning to the end of the learning process. This research was carried out using a literature review approach, where the researcher tried to examine ideas about group investigation type cooperative learning methods from many references. It was found in the research that the application of the group investigation type cooperative learning method contributed to student learning achievement. This learning method succeeds in creating an active learning environment and helps students to work cooperatively in solving problems. Apart from that, this learning method can grow students' thinking abilities and provide opportunities to learn more meaningfully in a social context with their group friends. Because of this, according to researchers, the group investigation type cooperative learning method should be the teacher's choice in the learning process.

Abstract

St. Teresa of Calcutta was a Religious who had a strong faith and love for the poor. She is one of the figures in the Catholic Church who has been canonized a saint. The purpose of this writing is to study the life and charism of St. Teresa of Calcutta who lived her faith in God which was manifested in her service to the poor. The method used to explore this theme is a literature review. The authors have tried to explore matters related to St. Teresa and her service through reliable sources. Through this writing have findings were obtained about the life and work of St. Teresa's of Calcutta. The exemplary and attitude of St. Teresa's life are figures for catechists for their work and service. Catechists need to live the values ​​of Evangelical spirituality as lived by St. Teresa of Calcutta. This writing can inspire catechists to develop spiritual values ​​that are rooted in a strong faith in God that manifests itself in concrete actions. The implications of writing St. Teresa can be an inspiration and example for catechists to be closer to God, faithful in their duties and service.
