Abstract

The Jami As-Syakirin Mosque is the oldest mosque located in Deli Tua Village, Deli Tua District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. Deli Tua holds many famous local historical values, such as the legend of the green princess, the legend of the gading pancur, the legend of the puntung cannon and other legends about the origins of the Karo tribe and the Malay tribe. Delitua is also suspected or predicted to have been the center of the Haru Kingdom. The Jami As-Syakirin Mosque during the colonial period was originally used as a resting place or stopover for travelers passing through the Deli Tua area. The Jami' As-Syakirin Mosque has a size of around 600 m2 for the land area and 300 m2 for the building area. Based on the research, it is said that this mosque witnessed the struggle of the Deli Tua community against the Colonial. And there are gunshot marks from the Dutch army on the pulpit which is said to have come from the Dutch army who attacked the Islamic army headquarters in Deli Tua. Therefore, this study aims to explain the history and architecture of the Jami As-Syakirin Deli Tua Mosque during the Colonial Period. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, data is obtained through field observations by directly observing objects, interviews regarding the history and architecture of the mosque, as well as document/literature studies and articles related to the history and architecture of the Jami As-Syakirin Deli Tua Mosque during the Colonial Period.

Abstract

In daily life, we often overlook cleanliness and sanitation aspects, both in household environments and industrial settings, including food production and service. However, poor sanitation can lead to serious negative impacts, such as foodborne illnesses. Several cases of food poisoning involving pathogenic bacteria such as Salmonella, Escherichia coli, and Listeria are frequently associated with insufficient attention to sanitation in food handling. A lack of understanding or awareness about the importance of hygiene can exacerbate this situation, increasing public health risks. This study aims to examine the role of sanitation in maintaining the quality of food ingredients, the impact of sanitation implementation on food safety, and effective sanitation practices in food production and service processes. Proper sanitation at every stage of food production is crucial to prevent microbial contamination that can degrade quality and endanger consumer health. The study employs a qualitative method, using in-depth interviews with 10 culinary arts students from the 2022 cohort. The findings indicate that sanitation in production processes, such as cleaning raw materials and cooking utensils, significantly affects the quality of the food produced. Good sanitation practices can prevent cross-contamination, enhance food hygiene, and ensure safe consumption. Effective sanitation practices include thorough cleaning procedures for equipment and proper management of raw materials at every stage of production to serving. This research recommends that the food industry strengthen knowledge and implementation of sanitation practices, improve hygiene monitoring, and invest in better sanitation equipment to maintain food quality and safety.

Abstract

The problem discussed in this research is how the ethnic identity of the Batu Bara Malay community is influenced by cultural construction in Batu Bara Regency. The results of the research show that the coal Malay community has highlighted their coal Malay identity with forms of social interaction through the language used in daily life, ethnic symbols, customs, as well as Batu Bara government policies in maintaining the Batu Bara Malay identity in Batu Bara Regency. The Batu Bara Malay tradition, which is still strong and inherent, makes the Batu Bara Malay people express their "I" nature wherever they are. However, with the many ethnic groups in Batu Bara, the reciprocal relations for the coal community are harmonious and there are still cooperative relations between tribes, even these differences do not become a barrier in society.

Abstract

The Mughal dynasty (1256-1858 AD) was the largest Muslim power in the Indian subcontinent, founded by Zahiruddin Babur, one of the grandsons of Timur Lenk. The Mughal Empire reached its peak during the reign of Akbar (1556-1605 AD). Akbar Khan is known as Sultan Abdul Fath Jalaluddin Akbar Khan. As one of the main rulers, Akbar was known for his policy of religious tolerance, supporting the presence of Hindus and Muslims, which became the basis for social stability under his rule. Under Akbar's rule, the sultanate not only developed politically and militarily, but also in the fields of economy, education, architecture, art, culture, and religion. This article aims to highlight the achievements of Akbar Khan, one of the kings who led the Mughal dynasty. Akbar contributed to the expansion of Mughal territory through strategic conquests, providing access to resources and increasing the wealth of the kingdom. He was also involved in administrative management and political strategy aimed at consolidating central powers, overcoming insurgencies and establishing diplomatic relations with regional powers.

Abstract

Herbert Blumer is applied in the formation of students' self-identity through symbolic interaction in dance learning at SMA Diponegoro 1 Purwokerto. In addition, this study also wants to know how dance learning can help students face the challenges of their identity development. Third, this study aims to understand how the application of symbolic interaction can improve students' understanding of themselves and their roles in society. Using the symbolic interaction theory of Mead and Blumer, this study analyzes how students form their identities through the interaction and interpretation of symbols in the context of dance learning. Dance is not only a cultural expression, but also a tool for understanding and interpreting cultural symbols. The interview method was chosen as the right step to collect data relevant to the focus of this study, because interviews allow researchers to explore the experiences and in-depth perspectives of students and dance teachers. This study is a descriptive qualitative study, using interviews to collect data from dance teachers and students who have experience in dance learning at SMA Diponegoro 1 Purwokerto. In addition, an analysis of curriculum documents and dance lesson plans was carried out to provide a broader context and ensure the validity of the research findings. Thus, the results of this study are expected to be applied in dance learning in other schools, especially if there are obstacles in the learning process. The results of this study will certainly add general insight to all educational institutions in Indonesia, both at SMA Diponegoro 1 Purwokerto and other schools. This shows that dance learning is not only about technical skills but also about a broader understanding and appreciation of culture, making an important contribution to the formation of students' self-identity and their understanding of their role in society.

Abstract

As social creatures, humans have the instinct to marry and produce new offspring. If there is marriage, the word “marriage” must be associated with divorce. It is interesting to study how the parties to a divorce in the Religious Court make an effort to reconcile or mediate before referring to the verdict. What are the legal consequences of divorce? That is the main issue. And how does the Religious Court handle the divorce mediation process? Marriage is a physical and mental bond between a woman and a man with the aim of building a good, harmonious, and prosperous household. In a marriage, divorce is an unavoidable part. Before the Religious Court decides to divorce, the parties must first conduct a peace process, which is called a mediation process. The purpose of the mediation process is to reduce tension when the trial begins, and it is hoped that the two parties deciding to divorce will decide to repair their relationship and be able to reconcile.
