Abstract

The phenomenon of ghosting frequently occurs in interpersonal relationships, particularly among university students, and is often experienced in relationships that have developed relational intimacy. This study aims to understand and explore the phenomenon of ghosting within relational intimacy among students in Yogyakarta using an interpretative phenomenological approach. This research employs a qualitative method through in-depth interviews with five student informants aged 18–25 years in Yogyakarta who have experienced ghosting as perpetrators, victims, or both. Data were analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) through stages of repeated transcript reading, exploratory commenting, identification of emergent themes, and the development of superordinate themes. The findings indicate that ghosting is understood as a unilateral termination of a relationship without open communication within relational intimacy. Ghosting emerges as a relational process preceded by changes in interaction patterns in the form of relational distancing, which are associated with incompatibility, loss of comfort, and efforts to avoid conflict within the relationship.

Abstract

This study aims to address the low learning motivation of students in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMK Negeri 1 Donggo. The primary issue identified is the dominance of conventional teaching methods, which result in student passivity and boredom. This research explores how the implementation of the Inquiry method can serve as a solution to foster active engagement and students' desire to understand religious values independently and critically. This research employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design following the Kemmis & McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting stages. The research subjects comprised 24 eleventh-grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Donggo. Data were collected using validated instruments, including student activity observation sheets and learning motivation questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using descriptive quantitative techniques to measure the percentage increase in learning motivation from the pre-cycle condition to the final cycle. The research findings demonstrate a significant and gradual increase in learning motivation. In the pre-cycle stage, the average student learning motivation was only 43.25% (low category). Following the implementation of the Inquiry method in Cycle I, this figure rose to 61.25% (moderate category). The peak was reached in Cycle II, where through improved investigative guidance, student learning motivation reached 83.75% (high category). These results confirm that the Inquiry method is effective in shifting the student learning paradigm from passive listeners to active discoverers of knowledge. This study is limited to a single class at SMK Negeri 1 Donggo, focusing specifically on the learning motivation variable. Practical implications of this study suggest that PAI educators should integrate contextual inquiry steps to enhance the quality of classroom interaction. Theoretically, this research reinforces the relevance of constructivism theory in religious education at the vocational high school level

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the learning-by-doing method in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in enhancing students’ learning activities at SMAN 3 Kota Bima. This study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that the implementation of the learning-by-doing method was carried out through worship practices, such as ablution and tayammum; simulations of funeral rites using mannequins; and role-playing activities in moral education materials. This method was effective in increasing students’ participation, enthusiasm, and self-confidence. The supporting factors included the principal’s policies, teachers’ creativity, school facilities, and students’ enthusiasm. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors included limited learning time, differences in students’ prior abilities, limited interactive learning media, large class sizes, and the dynamics of curriculum changes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) media by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in an effort to increase students’ learning motivation at SMP IT Al Wafa Godo, Bima Regency. In addition, this study seeks to examine students’ responses to the use of IFP and to identify the factors that support and hinder its implementation. This research employed a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, while data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the use of IFP in PAI learning was carried out through three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the planning stage, the teachers prepared lesson plans that integrated the use of IFP. In the implementation stage, the teachers applied an expository strategy supported by instructional videos and interactive quizzes. Meanwhile, in the evaluation stage, the teachers utilized Kahoot and Wordwall as interactive assessment platforms. Students’ responses to the use of IFP were highly positive, as indicated by increased enthusiasm, greater ease in understanding the material, and the expectation that IFP would also be used in other subjects. The supporting factors for IFP implementation included school policy support, teachers’ digital competence, and the availability of learning infrastructure. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors included teachers’ limited preparation time in developing digital materials, differences in digital competence among teachers, and the limited number of available IFP devices. Thus, this study concludes that IFP is effective in increasing students’ learning motivation in PAI subjects. However, optimizing its use still requires additional devices, continuous teacher training, and better management of learning time.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the talaqi and murojaah methods within the halaqoh system as an effort to enhance students’ motivation and Qur’an memorization achievement at Pondok Pesantren Tahfidz Nurul Jihad, Bima City. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data analysis process followed the model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which consists of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Meanwhile, data validity was strengthened through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking. The findings indicate that the implementation of the talaqi and murojaah methods within the halaqoh-based system was carried out through three main stages. The first stage was planning, which included initial assessment and the grouping of students based on their Qur’an reading ability and memorization achievement. The second stage was implementation, which involved talaqi, ziyadah, memorization submission, and scheduled murojaah activities. The third stage was evaluation, which was conducted through weekly tasmi’ and monthly juz advancement examinations. The implementation of these methods was supported by several factors, namely the competence of the ustadz, a conducive pesantren environment, students’ internal motivation, and parental support. However, several obstacles were also identified, including differences in students’ cognitive abilities, physical and psychological fatigue, excessive gadget use, and feelings of boredom and saturation. Overall, the implementation of the talaqi and murojaah methods within the halaqoh system was considered effective in improving students’ learning motivation and Qur’an memorization outcomes.

Abstract

This study examines the contribution of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) development in the Pantai Lariti tourist area, Soro Village, Bima Regency, to improving the local community’s economy. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results show that MSME development in the Pantai Lariti tourist area has a positive impact on the community’s economy. This contribution is reflected in the increased income of business actors, the creation of new employment opportunities, and the growth of local economic activities around the tourist area. Nevertheless, MSME actors still face several obstacles, such as limited capital, lack of training and business mentoring, suboptimal access to marketing, and limited supporting infrastructure. Therefore, MSME development strategies should be directed toward strengthening the capacity of business actors, expanding access to capital, improving product innovation, implementing entrepreneurship training, and utilizing digital marketing. This study emphasizes that collaboration among the government, the community, and MSME actors is an important factor in supporting business sustainability and optimizing the role of MSMEs in the local economy of coastal tourism areas.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology, particularly the use of smartphones among Generation Z, has given rise to the phenomenon of phubbing, which is the behavior of ignoring the person being talked to by diverting attention to a mobile device in social interaction situations. This study aims to examine the influence of self-control and boredom proneness on phubbing behavior among Generation Z in Karawang City. The method used was quantitative with a causal associative design, involving 204 participants selected through a quota sampling technique. Data collection used three validated instruments, namely the Phubbing Scale (PS), Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS), and Short Boredom Proneness Scale (SBPS). Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression tests. The results showed that self-control and boredom proneness simultaneously had a significant effect on phubbing behavior, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a contribution of 7.8%. Weak self-control and boredom drive someone to reflexively reach for a smartphone, even when they are with other people. This study concluded that self-control and boredom proneness significantly influence phubbing behavior among Generation Z in Karawang City.

Abstract

West Java Province ranks highest in divorce rates in Indonesia, with economic factors being one of the main causes. This study is significant as research on Islamic financial planning among young couples remains limited, despite its potential to enhance household resilience. The objectives of this study are: (1) to analyze the characteristics of young couples in West Java in implementing Islamic financial planning for their families; and (2) to examine the influence of Islamic financial literacy, religiosity, and income perception on the intention and implementation of Islamic financial planning. The research employs a quantitative approach using descriptive analysis and Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that the majority of respondents demonstrate good financial awareness, as indicated by their possession of emergency savings. The respondents’ financial management priorities, based on the Charity, Investment, Debt, and Consumption (CIDC) framework, place charity as the highest priority, followed by investment, debt repayment, and consumption as the last priority. Income perception exerts a stronger influence on Islamic financial planning through the mediation of intention than through its direct effect. These findings recommend strengthening Islamic financial literacy through community-based educational programs, integrating related materials into pre-marital counseling, and leveraging digital media to enhance family economic stability and reduce divorce rates caused by economic issues.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the factors contributing to students’ low level of discipline and to explain the efforts made by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers to improve student discipline at SMAN 3 Kota Bima. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that students’ low discipline is influenced by both internal and external factors. The internal factors include low self-awareness, negative habits carried over from previous levels of education, and low learning motivation, particularly in Islamic Religious Education subjects. Meanwhile, the external factors include the influence of peer groups, limited parental supervision, and the use of gadgets and social media. The efforts made by PAI teachers to improve student discipline include several strategies: providing exemplary behavior, habituating students to routine religious activities such as Dhuha prayer and congregational Dzuhur prayer, providing motivation and advice based on Qur’anic values, consistently implementing reward and punishment, and applying personal and collaborative approaches involving homeroom teachers, guidance and counseling teachers, and parents. This study concludes that PAI teachers play a highly strategic role in shaping students’ disciplined character through a holistic approach that integrates religious values, positive habituation, and multi-party collaboration.
