Abstract

This article discusses how the conflict between the Pakpak community and Salafi groups has led to changes in social and religious practices in Desa Silima Kuta. The research is a qualitative-descriptive study where data were collected through field research using in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The data were then analyzed descriptively, using conflict and social change theories as the analytical framework.  The study finds two main points: First, conflicts based on ideological differences have driven social and religious changes through two factors: (1) the hegemonic competition between Salafi groups and local religious leaders, with both vying for influence in the community; (2) a sense of threat among the Pakpak people, who fear that Salafi teachings might alter their religious traditions, thereby increasing the community’s enthusiasm and participation in religious activities in Desa Silima Kuta.  Second, the forms of social and religious changes observed include: changes in practices of dhikr (remembrance of Allah), communal prayers after congregational prayers, tahlilan (commemorative prayers for the deceased), yasinan (recitation of Surah Yasin), changes in attire during worship, and decreased participation in major Islamic celebrations such as Maulid and Isra' Mi'raj.

Abstract

The Bontang City Government through the Manpower Office launched the Handak Begawi Program. The program is an effort to collaborate companies in Bontang City, vocational training centers and vocational training institutions in order to play an active role in improving the competitiveness of the workforce. This research used a qualitative approach. Data was collected by interviews, observation, and documentation. From the theory of Collaborative Governance by Anshell and Gash (2007), the results of the study are divided into four variables, namely initial conditions that have gone well, clear and consistent institutional design, but for facilitative leadership and collaboration processes are still not optimal. Supporting factors for the implementation of this government collaboration are the existence of a cooperation agreement, the existence of a vision and mission and work program in the collaboration process, trust between stakeholders, collaboration actors get the same opportunities, the decision-making process and sharing responsibilities have also been running, the provision of information data in the collaboration process has been carried out in an organized manner and according to the needs of the collaboration actors, and appropriate resources are available. Inhibiting factors occur due to the lack of socialization related to training and apprenticeship rules, less than optimal facilitative leadership, the absence of regular meetings, and the limited needs of apprentices from employers. Overall, the implementation of government collaboration in the Handak Begawi Program has gone well in accordance with the success factors described by De Seve in government collaboration.

Abstract

This study explains the effectiveness of teaching Arabic vocabulary mastery using Gamilab media online games, particularly at the junior high school level. The difficulty students face in learning is due to a lack of supportive facilities, which affects their motivation during lessons. This research employs a quantitative approach, with the experimental method used by the researcher. The experimental design follows the "pretest-posttest one group design."The population of this study consists of 80 students from Mts Muhammadiyah Muallimien Muallimat Jakarta. The sampling method used is purposive sampling, and the sample under investigation includes 25 eighth-grade students from Mts Muhammadiyah Muallimien Muallimat Jakarta, drawn from one class. The validity test results show that 20 (100%) of the pretest and posttest questions are valid. The reliability test, conducted using SPSS 26 with Cronbach's Alpha, yielded a coefficient of 0.733, indicating that the test instrument comprising 20 questions is reliable, as the alpha value exceeds the threshold of 0.70.Regarding difficulty levels, 60% of the questions were categorized as easy, while 40% were considered moderately difficult. In terms of item discrimination, 70% of the questions had a sufficient index, 30% had a good index, and 10% had a poor index. The normality test showed significance values of 0.194 and 0.68, both greater than 0.05, indicating that the data is normally distributed. However, a significance value of 0.43, which is less than 0.05, suggests that the data is not homogeneous. A significance value of 0.000 (less than 0.05) was obtained, further confirming this. The mean scores of the pretest and posttest showed an improvement from 47.40 to 74.00. Thus, it can be concluded that Gamilab media is quite effective in enhancing Arabic vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the Arabic language learning system implemented at Ma'had Tahfidz Kitabina Tanjung Morawa, which makes the majority of students experience difficulties in speaking Arabic. To achieve the goals of learning Arabic carried out by an educational institution, including Ma'had Tahfidz Kitabina, a good Arabic language learning system is definitely needed. Learning Arabic ideally allows students to master the four language skills (al-istima', al-kalam, al-qira'ah and al-kitabah) functionally and proportionally. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method. This research uses two types of data sources, namely primary data and secondary data. In collecting primary data, researchers take data directly from informants through interview, observation and documentation techniques. The data analysis techniques used by researchers are Data Reduction, Data Display, and Conclusion/Verification. The results of this research are that there are two Arabic language learning systems used at Ma'had Tahfiz Kitabina Tanjung Morawa, namely: 1) Assessment system. The study system is teaching Arabic with a religious motif that emphasizes the memorization method in the form of providing Arabic vocabulary (mufrodat) in the morning from the ustadz in the dormitory. 2) Management system. The management system in the dormitory uses a system called the sub-district system with the presence of a dormitory head, language, cleanliness, health, guests, and so on. By implementing the Arabic language learning system at Mahad Tahfidz Kitabina, students can increase their memory of the material provided by the teacher and increase students' interest in learning Arabic so that students are motivated by this learning system.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to disseminate feed grinder machine technology and provide training on making silage from agricultural waste as an alternative, nutritious feed for sheep in collaboration with the Sumber Mendho Nusantara livestock group. The implementation method involves four stages: preparation, which focuses on identifying the partner's problems and needs; training, which includes socializing the use of agricultural waste and demonstrating the feed grinder machine; mentoring, which focuses on follow-up and monitoring previous activities; and reporting and sustainability to ensure that the program continues to be implemented by the partner. The outcomes of this community service are that the partners are able to understand and apply appropriate technology to process waste, such as cassava and corn cobs, into quality feed. This activity not only reduces the farmers' dependence on commercial feed but also increases operational efficiency and opens up new opportunities in agropreneurship. The results also indicate a positive change in the partners' mindset, skills, and ability to manage agricultural waste. Furthermore, the increased knowledge of operating and maintaining appropriate technology provides a strong foundation for the program's sustainability in the future. With the support of proper technology and training, the livestock group can improve the quality of animal feed and optimize local economic potential.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the phenomenon of democracy volunteers in Pasaman Barat Regency. The phenomenon of democracy volunteers in the 2024 elections in Pasaman Barat Regency shows an increase in political participation among the community. However, there are challenges associated with potential clientelism practices and limited volunteer resources that can affect the integrity of elections. The purpose of this research is to analyze the role and impact of democracy volunteers in the 2024 elections in Pasaman Barat, as well as to understand the challenges they face and how they influence the electoral process. This research employs a phenomenological type of study with a qualitative approach, focusing on political volunteers in Pasaman Barat Regency. The results of the democracy volunteers in Pasaman Barat Regency play an important role in expanding the voter base and increasing political participation. They also face challenges such as limited resources and the influence of political money. Volunteers tend to come from the general public with personal interests and often serve as a shortcut for political elites. Although it has a positive impact on participation and transparency, the presence of volunteers also reveals the potential for transactional political practices. The working mechanism of volunteers, including socialization and direct support to the community, demonstrates their efforts in enhancing political literacy and supporting candidates, despite the risks of a shift towards mass leadership.

Abstract

This study explores the characteristics of Islamic architecture in Curup Tengah, an area with geographic, cultural, and traditional contexts distinct from the origins of Islamic architecture in Arabia. This study focuses on the adaptation of Islamic architecture to local contexts and community needs, as well as its influence on the appication of Islamic architectural elements in mosques. This study aimed to analyze and describe the characteristics and implementation of Islamic architectural elements, including domes, minarets, calligraphy, geometry, floral motifs, prayer halls, mihrabs, pulpits, porticos, ablution areas, study spaces, ventilation and natural lighting. The methodology employed is qualitative research with a descriptive comparative approach, utilizing data collection through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and relevant literature reviews. The finding indicate that mosques in Curup Tengah generally lack minarets and instead optimize doors and windows for natural ventilation, avoiding the use of artificial cooling systems. The application of Islamic architectural elements in these mosques remains limited, with only eight to twelve of the total thirteen elements being implemented. This research enhances the understanding of how Islamic architectural elements are applied and offers valuable insights for future mosque design in Curup.
