EduInovasi: Journal of Basic Educational Studies is a journal published in the Study Program of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah, the  Islamic Institute of Laa Roiba Bogor. This journal is published twice a year in February and Agust. Furthermore, this journal is published in two versions, namely print and online. The focus of this journal contains articles on research on Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education / Primary / MI / SD Teacher Education, such as competency analysis, learning strategies, learning theory, learning development, educator professionalism, and research results. Reviewers will review any submitted paper. Abstract

Social Studies learning in elementary schools often faces challenges in the form of low student interest in learning, especially when the material is presented in an abstract and less contextual manner. To address this issue, this study aims to describe the effectiveness of an integrated thematic learning model based on the environment in increasing interest in learning social studies at fourth-grade students of SDN Palumbonsari II, East Karawang District. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with research subjects consisting of fourth-grade teachers and students. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of an integrated thematic model based on the environment can significantly increase student interest in learning. This is evident from the increase in students' active participation in the learning process, enthusiasm in extracurricular activities, and their ability to connect social studies material with the surrounding reality. Learning activities that utilize the environment as a learning resource also successfully create a fun and meaningful learning atmosphere. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of the role of teachers in designing contextual-based learning that is integrated with the local environment, especially in social studies subjects that are rich in social life values.

Abstract

Every individual basically has a drive to achieve inner satisfaction and a balanced psychological condition, known as psychological well-being. Late adolescents tend to experience significant changes in the process of becoming adults, which often causes developmental pressure and has an impact on psychological well-being. This study aims to determine the effect of social support and self-efficacy on the psychological well-being of late adolescents in Karawang. The method in this study uses a quantitative approach with a causality design. The number of participants was 390 people aged 17 to 21 years who were selected using convenience techniques. Data collection was carried out using three measuring instruments, namely the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES), and Ryff's Psychological Well-Being Scale. The results of the study showed a sig value of 0.00 (p< 0.05) namely Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected, meaning that social support and self-efficacy had a significant effect on the psychological well-being of late adolescents. The R² value of 0.777 shows that 77.7% of psychological well-being has a strong influence on variations in social support and self-efficacy. This shows that support from the social environment of family, friends, and important figures in an individual's life, as well as the individual's ability to believe in their potential in facing life's challenges, are important determining factors in helping adolescents achieve optimal psychological well-being.

Abstract

This quasi-experimental study examined the effectiveness of a treatment using a nonequivalent control group design. One group applied the discovery learning model, while the other acted as a control class with a conventional learning model. The aim was to determine the effectiveness of the discovery learning model for learning information and communication technology in eighth grade at MTsN 4 Bone. Purposive sampling was used to select class VIII C as the experimental group and class VIII B as the control group. The results of the analysis of the three effectiveness indicators are as follows: (1) The average ICT learning achievement score was in the high category, with an 87% increase in student ICT learning achievement. (2) The student activity indicator was met, with an average student activity score of 3.52 in the very active category. (3) The student response questionnaire indicator was met, with 93% of responses being positive. Based on these results, it can be concluded that implementing the discovery learning model is effective for teaching information and communication technology because all criteria were fullfilled

Abstract

Being organized is important for students because it can provide benefits for self-development, both academically and non-academically. The Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM) is an autonomous Muhammadiyah organization that operates among students and teenagers. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-adjustment and self-management in members of the Muhammadiyah Student Association Srandakan Branch Leadership. This study focuses on the analysis of the relationship between self-adjustment and self-management in members of the IPM Srandakan Branch Leadership. The respondents in this study were members of the Muhammadiyah Student Association Srandakan Branch Leadership. The data collection method used in this study was a scale. This research method uses a quantitative method with a correlational approach. Research data can be obtained by a questionnaire that measures self-management skills with self-adjustment of PC IPM Srandakan members. The results of the hypothesis test obtained in this study are that there is a relationship between the variables of self-adjustment and self-management as indicated by a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.00 or P <0.01 with a coefficient value of 0.843 so that it can be interpreted that there is a close relationship between self-adjustment and self-management. It can be concluded that the variables of self-adjustment with self-management have a positive or unidirectional relationship. This means that the higher the level of self-management of members, the higher the level of self-adjustment and vice versa.

Abstract

University students face various academic, social, and psychological challenges that demand a high level of perseverance to endure and complete their studies. This study aims to analyze the influence of hope and peer attachment on grit among students at Universitas Buana Perjuangan Karawang. The research employed a quantitative causal design, with a population of 11,352 students and a sample of 386 participants selected using a convenience sampling technique. The instruments used included the State Hope Scale (SHS), the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (IPPA), and the Short Grit Scale (Grit-S). Data were analyzed using tests of normality, linearity, multiple regression, and the coefficient of determination. The analysis results showed that both hope and peer attachment had a significant influence on grit, both partially and simultaneously. Hope and peer attachment together explained 63.1% of the variance in grit, with peer attachment contributing more substantially (56.2%) compared to hope (6.8%). These findings highlight the importance of strengthening both hope and peer connections as strategic efforts to enhance students' grit.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid and reliable performance assessment instrument for the Industrial Work Practice (PKL) subject, especially in the Fashion Design Expertise Program, and to evaluate the quality of the instrument for Phase F students. The trial subjects of this study consisted of 14 educators of the Fashion Design Expertise Program and 72 Phase F students specializing in Fashion Design in Bali Province. The design of this study follows the ADDIE development model, with instrument development procedures including content validity testing with the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) index, item internal consistency with the product moment correlation coefficient, instrument reliability with the Cronbach's alpha formula, item discrimination test, and parameter estimation analysis of the PKL course performance instrument. The results of the study show that: (1) The CVR value of each item is 1.00; (2) The correlation index of each item exceeds the critical value in the r-table and the instrument reliability coefficients, respectively, which indicate high reliability; and (3) Based on the item discrimination index, there are 106 items in the very good category, 49 items in the good category, and 14 items in the bad category.

Abstract

This research aims to design and build a laboratory-scale 3-bar reciprocating compressor simulator as a learning tool to understand the working principles of a single-cylinder reciprocating compressor. The design process includes material selection, frame construction, component installation, and piping system, as well as structural analysis using SolidWorks. Tests were conducted to measure mass flow rate, flow velocity, and pressure distribution. The results showed that increasing valve opening and motor speed increased the flow rate and mass flow rate, with the highest value being 0.0000338 kg/s at 1480 rpm. The piping system was capable of delivering pressurized air up to 3 bar, with even heat distribution and a peak temperature of 32°C. The structural analysis results showed agreement between theoretical calculations and simulations with a deviation below 15%. The strength of the welded joints had a safety factor of 182.8, indicating the frame could safely withstand operational loads. This simulator is considered effective as an interactive learning tool to support theoretical and practical understanding in mechanical engineering.

Abstract

The increasing number of elderly people is a challenge for all groups. This can become a problem if not addressed immediately. To address these problems, elderly schools are a solution in increasing the capacity of the elderly. This study aims to describe the empowerment process that occurs at the Pancasila Elderly School in Bandungan District. The research method uses descriptive qualitative methods that focus on three stages of the empowerment process: awareness, transformation, and capacity building. Furthermore, the empowerment outcomes focus on cognitive, psychomotor, and independence improvements. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Analysis techniques used include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the empowerment of the elderly community through elderly school activities is running well by implementing a gradual empowerment process. At the awareness stage, the Elderly School is able to raise awareness among the elderly to join the elderly school program through various efforts. The transformation stage is marked by increased participation of the elderly in attending the elderly school. Tutors provide material on health to ensure the success of this stage. In the final stage, the capacity building stage, the elderly experience increased capabilities, especially in the health sector, enabling them to live independently without requiring assistance from family and the community. Improvement in the elderly is characterized by cognitive improvement, namely the growth of the elderly's knowledge and ability to think. Furthermore, psychomotor development in the elderly develops through exercise, increasing the elderly's ability to take responsibility for themselves, thus supporting them in achieving independence in their lives.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of loneliness and narcissistic behavior on social media addiction among emerging adults in Karawang. The method used in this study is quantitative, with a causal research design. The population in this study consists of emerging adults residing in Karawang. The sample in this study consisted of 356 respondents, calculated based on Issac Michael's formula and using convenience sampling techniques. The measurement tools used in this study were psychological scales: the UCLA Loneliness Scale v3 for loneliness, the Narcissistic Personality Inventory 16 for narcissistic behavior, and the Social Media Disorder Scale for social media addiction. Based on the results of the study, there was no significant simultaneous effect between the variables of loneliness and narcissistic behavior on social media addiction. However, partially, only the narcissistic behavior variable showed a significant effect on social media addiction, while the loneliness variable did not have a significant effect.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of workplace design psychology in improving employee motivation at PT XYZ. The approach used is a quasi-experimental quantitative method with a Two-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research sample consists of 60 employees from the gravure production division, divided into two groups: the experimental group and the control group. Data collection was conducted using a work motivation scale based on Herzberg's theory(1966). Pretest and posttest results were analyzed using the independent sample t-test and gain score test. The research findings indicate that the experimental group experienced a significant increase in work motivation after the intervention, with a t-test value of 4.040 (p < 0.001) and an effect size of 38.56%. Thus, this study proves that the application of workplace ergonomics psychology is effective in enhancing employee work motivation, thereby accepting the alternative hypothesis (Ha).
