Abstract

The advancement of technology and the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum necessitate innovation in the learning process, particularly in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at the elementary school level. The deep learning approach, which emphasizes deep understanding, critical thinking, and practical application, aligns well with the characteristics of the Merdeka Curriculum. This study aims to develop digital learning media based on deep learning and examine its effectiveness in evaluating PAI learning. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). The research subjects were fifth-grade students at SDN Larangan Tokol 4. The developed products include an interactive e-book featuring stories of the Prophet's companions and a digital crossword puzzle (e-puzzle), designed according to the deep learning principles of mindful, meaningful, and joyful. The results show that the digital media successfully increased student engagement, improved learning outcomes, and facilitated a more effective and enjoyable evaluation process. The implementation also promoted cognitive development from the application level (C3) to the analysis level (C4). Despite technical limitations in digital evaluation, the results indicate a significant improvement in students' comprehension. This study is important as it demonstrates that integrating digital learning media based on deep learning can support more contextual, interactive, and meaningful PAI learning. Abstract

Qur’anic literacy in early childhood is a crucial foundation for shaping Islamic character and religious identity during the formative years. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Yanbu’a method in improving the ability to read and write the Qur’an among early learners at TPQ Darul Muttaqin, located in Plososari, Grati t, Pasuruan. The research employs a qualitative approach with a field study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The findings indicate that the Yanbu’a method has a positive impact on enhancing Qur’anic literacy in children aged 3 to 6. Its gradual, visual, and verbal approach fosters motivation, enthusiasm, and independent reading habits both within the institution and at home. The success of the method is also supported by the active role of teachers and a conducive learning environment. This study concludes that the Yanbu’a method is an effective instructional strategy for early childhood Qur’anic education in Islamic learning settings.

Abstract

This article examines the role of Prophetic hadith in shaping digital spirituality, with a specific focus on the ethical principles of controlling the gaze and safeguarding the heart in the online environment. The increasing of visual and distraction-driven nature of digital culture has created significant challenges for Muslim spiritual life, including weakened self-regulation, loss of attentiveness, and heightened exposure to morally harmful content. This study aims to explore how selected hadiths concern about lowering the gaze (ghaḍḍ al-baṣar) and the purification of the heart can offer a relevant ethical-spiritual framework for navigating digital spaces. Using a qualitative library research method with a thematic (mauḍū‘ī) and semantic (ma‘ānī al-ḥadīth) approach, this article analyzes foundational texts and their classical commentaries to uncover their contemporary implications. The findings indicate that the Prophetic teachings on visual discipline, inner vigilance, and heart-centered consciousness provide practical guidance for resisting digital overstimulation, maintaining moral clarity, and cultivating spiritual presence. This study concludes that recontextualizing hadith within the dynamics of digital life contributes to the formulation of digital spirituality that is ethically grounded, psychologically stabilizing, and spiritually transformative.

Abstract

Muhammadiyah, at its inception, was a religious organization that sought to provide answers to the problems faced by the community at that time. Al-Ma'un Theology is a concept initiated by KH. Ahmad Dahlan, the spirit of the Al-Ma'un letter became Muhammadiyah's support in carrying out social transformation as a form of implementing "Progressive Islam". This type of research is included in the library research category, where the object of study uses data sources from literature. In the research entitled "Muhammadiyah's Social Contribution: From Theology to Real Action" the researcher concluded that Al-Ma'un Theology plays a role as a social, humanitarian, and liberation theology, which emphasizes real action rather than merely classical theological discourse. This makes religion a force that drives social development and societal change. Al-Ma'un Theology functions as a social foundation that integrates religious values with real social action. Muhammadiyah's Amal Usaha (AUM) is a concrete form of action from the Muhammadiyah da'wah movement which acts as a medium for the concrete implementation of Islamic values in various areas of community life. Muhammadiyah responds to contemporary social issues by adopting educational approaches, social services, and religious fatwas that are relevant to the times to respond to current social, cultural, and technological challenges.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of Islamic teachings in the song Satu by Dewa 19 as a form of cultural da’wah through popular music. The research problem focuses on how Islamic values such as ukhuwah (brotherhood), tawhid (oneness of God), and tasamuh (tolerance) are reflected in the lyrics of a popular song that is not explicitly categorized as religious music. This topic is significant because it demonstrates that religious messages can appear in the sphere of popular culture and serve as an effective medium to strengthen unity within a multicultural society. The research employs a qualitative method with a content analysis approach, analyzing the song lyrics and relating them to Islamic sources such as the Qur’an, hadith, and classical Islamic literature. The findings reveal that the song Satu represents Islamic teachings on preserving brotherhood, reinforcing tawhid as the foundation of life, and promoting tasamuh to respect diversity. Furthermore, the song is highly relevant to contemporary society, particularly in pluralistic Indonesia, as it reinforces national and humanitarian values. This study concludes that popular music can serve as an alternative and effective medium of da’wah while enriching Islamic studies within the context of modern art and culture.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the importance of learning media innovation and the challenges faced by teachers and students in utilizing Islamic Education learning media at SD Negeri 8 Tanjung Lago. This research uses a qualitative approach, which aims to provide an in-depth description of the innovation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning media at SD Negeri 8 Tanjung Lago. The data collection techniques used include interviews, observation and documentation. The data collected was then analyzed using content analysis techniques. Learning media innovation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has an important role in improving the quality of learning and students' understanding of the material. The use of varied media in SD Negeri 8 Tanjung Lago such as pictures, cards, videos, and other props helps visualize abstract concepts in religious teachings, making it easier for students to understand. The positive impact of implementing learning media innovations is seen in various aspects, including improved student understanding, motivation and learning outcomes. With richer learning experiences, students not only understand religious teachings more deeply, but also develop social and interpersonal skills through collaborative activities. In addition, media innovation also spurs teachers' creativity in designing more interesting and relevant learning activities.

Abstract

This study examines the preservation and revitalization of Arabi-Malayalam, a unique hybrid script combining Arabic script with the Malayalam language, historically used by the Mappila Muslim community in Malabar, Kerala, India. This research addresses the decline of Arabi-Malayalam due to sociocultural changes, educational reforms, and religious movements, highlighting its significance in maintaining cultural identity and heritage. Employing a qualitative, literature-based methodology, this study analyzes historical developments, cultural contexts, and comparative cases of endangered language preservation. It identifies the rich literary and scientific contributions of Arabi-Malayalam and the challenges posed by its diminishing use among the region’s younger generations. This study proposes multifaceted strategies for revitalization, including community engagement, educational initiatives, technological integration, and institutional support, to ensure the script’s continued relevance. The findings emphasize the importance of balancing tradition and modernity, advocating for Arabi-Malayalam as a complementary cultural asset alongside standard Malayalam. This revitalization effort not only preserves a vital link to the Mappila community’s past but also fosters cultural pride, intellectual advancement, and social cohesion in contemporary world.

Abstract

Technological advancements have indeed facilitated the learning process, but their utilization is not evenly distributed across Indonesia due to economic constraints and internet access in various regions. This situation presents a challenge for SKI teachers to ensure optimal learning despite limited digital resources. This study aims to analyze how expository learning strategies can be used as an effective alternative to improve student understanding without relying on technology. The study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method with a narrative literature review approach, which examined various references from Google Scholar relevant to the topic. The study's results indicate that the expository strategy can be implemented efficiently because teachers can deliver material in a structured manner, utilize simple media, and strengthen student understanding through lectures, direct explanations, and question-and-answer interactions. The study's conclusions confirm that the expository strategy is an appropriate choice for Islamic Religious Education (SKI) learning in areas with limited access to technology. This research provides theoretical contributions by strengthening references to non-digital learning in Islamic religious education, as well as practical contributions by recommending methods for teachers and educational institutions to maintain the quality of learning in low-technology environments.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has had a significant impact on the dynamics of Qur'anic studies and interpretation in the academic realm. This transformation has not only changed media and learning methods but also given rise to a new paradigm that demands integration between classical scholarly traditions and digital innovation. This study aims to analyze the direction of development of Qur'anic interpretation studies in the digital era by examining how digitalization influences the production, dissemination, and methodology of Qur'anic studies in Islamic academic circles. The research method used is qualitative, with a literature study approach and content analysis of academic journals, digital interpretation platforms, and curriculum documents of Islamic universities in Indonesia and the Islamic world in general. Data are analyzed descriptively and critically to identify changing patterns, methodological tendencies, and epistemological strengthening of digitalization on the science of interpretation. The results show that integration between the classical interpretation heritage and technological innovation is key to maintaining the authenticity and validity of interpretation in the digital era. The development of digital interpretation based on classical principles is necessary to ensure that technological transformation remains aligned with the values ​​of Islamic scholarship. Epistemological integration between the legacy of classical interpretation and digital innovation needs to be developed in a balanced manner in order to produce a paradigm for Qur'anic studies that is adaptive, accountable, and contextual to the needs of the people in the modern era.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) plays an important role in shaping students' character, especially amid increasing moral challenges in the modern era. This study aims to analyze effective strategies for strengthening PAI in supporting the development of students' religious and moral character in the school environment. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation review in secondary education institutions. The results of the study indicate that the success of PAI in shaping character is determined by four main interrelated aspects, namely strengthening values-based curricula and direct practice, applying active and contextual learning methods, improving the competence and exemplary behavior of PAI teachers, and establishing a consistent religious school culture. The conclusion of the study confirms that PAI will function optimally if it runs as an integrated system that not only teaches religious knowledge but also internalizes values into concrete actions. This study contributes to providing a strategic framework for schools to implement PAI-based character education more effectively.
