Widya Sundaram : Jurnal Pendidikan Seni Dan Budaya Widya Sundaram : Jurnal Pendidikan Seni dan Budaya adalah jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Seni dan Budaya Keagamaan Hindu IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram. Widya Sundaram : Jurnal Pendidikan Seni dan Budaya mulai edisi pertama terbit pada Vol. 1, No. 1, Maret 2023. Jurnal ini terbit dua kali dalam satu tahun yaitu pada bulan Maret dan September yang bertujuan untuk mewadahi artikel-artikel hasil penelitian maupun non penelitian dibidang pendidikan dan pembelajaran pendidikan seni dan budaya. Fokus dan ruang lingkup jurnal ini meliputi kajian tentang seni, pendidikan, pembelajaran seni, dan budaya yang dihasilkan melalui penelitian, hasil kajian kepustakaan, maupun hasil teoritis yang dilakukan pada jenjang pendidikan dasar sampai dengan pendidikan tinggi.

Abstract

This research explores and analyses the challenges cultural arts teachers at SMP Negeri Mataram City face in implementing learning evaluation using the competency-based curriculum. The expected cultural arts evaluation includes assessing student's creative process, attitude, knowledge, and skills, but most teachers still rely on product-based assessment. The method was qualitative, collecting data through questionnaires, interviews, and observations of 15 cultural arts teachers at SMP Negeri Kota Mataram. The results showed that teachers face difficulties in designing evaluation instruments according to the curriculum, especially due to the lack of understanding of authentic evaluation and time constraints due to high administrative loads. This study also found that the use of technology in evaluating cultural arts learning is still very limited. This research provides important insights into the need for competency-based evaluation training for cultural arts teachers and the utilisation of technology in the evaluation process. The findings form the basis for developing more effective training strategies to improve school cultural arts evaluation practices.

Abstract

As one of the rich cultural heritages, the Balinese script plays a vital role in maintaining traditional Balinese values. The lontar manuscript used as a writing medium has become integral to Balinese history. However, with the entry of modernization, the existence of lontar is increasingly threatened by physical damage and the loss of a generation that can read and write Balinese script. The digitization of the Balinese script is an important solution for preserving this culture. This article examines the journey of digitization of Balinese script from lontar to screen in the context of cultural preservation and modernization from 2010-2015. The research method used is a comprehensive literature review, which analyzes various literature and previous research related to the digitization of the Balinese script and the preservation of the lontar script. The study results show that digitalization provides easy access to lontar scripts, expands the range of Balinese script learning, and introduces Balinese culture to the international world. Although digitization offers many benefits, there are still challenges related to the accuracy of recognizing Balinese script in digital format, especially in degraded manuscripts. This research contributes to developing digital technology that is more adaptive to the Balinese script and provides solutions for preserving Balinese culture in the digital era. In conclusion, digitization of the Balinese script is not only a technical conservation measure but also a means to maintain its relevance amid the current growing modernization.

Abstract

Integrating arts and culture learning and counseling in students' character development at SMKN 5 Mataram. This research explores how art can serve as a counseling medium to help students overcome emotional and social problems and develop character. The method used was a qualitative approach with a case study involving in-depth interviews, classroom observation, and documentation. The research findings show that cultural arts, such as drawing and dance, allow students to express their feelings more openly and reduce anxiety, improving their character in responsibility, cooperation, and self-control. The contribution of this study is to show that arts are beneficial in the context of creative expression and as an effective tool in counseling for character development in vocational high schools. These results are important because they provide new insights into using art in character education and counseling that can be applied in various schools.

Abstract

This research examines the use of environmentally friendly materials in making Ogoh-ogoh in Bali, focusing on the city of Denpasar. The study aimed to identify challenges and opportunities in transitioning to using environmentally friendly materials, such as bamboo, paper platters, and recycled paper, as a replacement for Styrofoam. The research method was a descriptive qualitative approach, with in-depth interviews and participatory observation of sekaa teruna, Ogoh-ogoh craftsmen, and local government. The results showed that although environmental awareness among Balinese people is high, the main challenge lies in the higher cost and longer processing time with natural materials. Nonetheless, the younger generation has great potential in adopting eco-friendly materials and playing a key role in maintaining the sustainability of Balinese culture. This research also introduces the concept of theo-ecology, which combines the principles of ecology and spirituality in Balinese tradition and makes a new contribution to sustainable cultural management. The conclusions of this study emphasize the importance of more coordinated policies to support the adoption of eco-friendly materials and ensure the preservation of culture and environment simultaneously. These results provide important insights for developing cultural and environmental sustainability science.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of Jaranan Cilik Dance Creations on early childhood gross motor development, focusing on improving balance, agility, and flexibility and its contribution to implementing the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project. This research explores how dance can stimulate children's gross motor skills and support character-building based on Pancasila values. The method used was descriptive qualitative with observation, interview, and documentation approaches. The data was analysed using an interactive analysis model, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings show that Jaranan Cilik Dance effectively improves children's gross motor skills and instills positive characteristics such as cooperation and discipline. The contribution of this paper is to introduce Jaranan Cilik Creation Dance as a method that integrates dance with gross motor development and early childhood character. The results of this study are important for enriching culture-based learning methods in early childhood education and contributing to holistic and value-based curriculum development.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the influence of each Baleganjur Arts Extracurricular variable on Student Self-Confidence at SD Negeri 20 Cakranegara. The research approach used is associative quantitative with data collection techniques, namely observation, questionnaires and documentation, while the data analysis used is simple linear regression analysis. The population in this research is all students who take part in the Baleganjur arts extracurricular at SD Negeri 20 Cakranegara. The sample size was determined using purposive sampling. The population obtained by calculation was 40 sample students. This research uses Simple Linear Regression analysis tools through validity tests, reliability tests and normality tests. The results of the research show that there is a positive influence from implementing the Baleganjur arts extracurricular on students' self-confidence at SD Negeri 20 Cakranegara.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the management implemented in Sanggar Sundaram. Data collection methods were carried out using observation, interviews and documentation techniques. To support the analysis process, the theory used is management theory by Hanry Fayol which contains planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling. The results of this research are: In an effort to improve the development of the Sundaram Studio in Lilir Hamlet, Gunungsari District, West Lombok Regency, the studio management implements a management strategy to implement management functions which include planning, organizing, implementing and controlling all aspects of the studio's activities and programs. This is done to achieve predetermined goals.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the process of creating the work "Wagiswari Guna Paraga", the structure of the dance accompaniment created by "Wagiswari Guna Paraga" and the media used in the composition of the work "Wagiswari Guna Paraga". The development of this work of art involves three stages: exploration, improvisation, and formation. The results of this research are as follows: First, the process of creating Wagisvasri Guna Para's creative dance percussion consists of several stages, namely: in the first part, which is called pengawit, it can be started by playing the preret, jegogan, jublag and gong instruments, alternately. Second, the structure of the dance accompaniment created by "Wagisvari Guna Paraga" namely: 1) Kawitan; 2) Pepeso; 3) Pengawak; 4) Pengecet; 5) Pakaad. Third: In the composition of the dance accompaniment created by Wagiswari Guna Paraga, the gamelan gong kebyar barungan is used as a medium of expression.

Abstract

Despite the rapid development of modernization and technological advancement, traditional arts such as Balinese sacred dance remain an important foundation in shaping national identity and character. This study examines the role of Balinese sacred dance as an active learning strategy in the teaching and learning process. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study explores the forms and values contained in Balinese sacred dance, while also examining how the dance can be integrated into learning strategies that encourage active student participation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of active learning through a sacred dance-based approach can increase student engagement emotionally, cognitively, and psychomotorically. In addition to strengthening understanding of local cultural arts, this approach also fosters respect, discipline, and spirituality in students. Thus, traditional arts become not only teaching materials, but also transformative learning experiences.

Abstract

Colouring, creative development, artistic creativity, and early childhood. This study will investigate the influence of colouring activities and gradation techniques on increasing artistic creativity in early childhood, especially in children aged 5–6 years. This study aims to explore the influence of colouring activities with gradation techniques on increasing artistic creativity in early childhood, especially in children aged 5-6 years. The research method used was the design of the pretest-posttest control group experiment, with two groups consisting of an experimental group and a control group. The tools used include a creativity scale to measure aspects of imagination, self-expression, and emotional involvement in children. The study's findings showed that children in the experimental group who performed colouring activities with the gradation technique showed a significant improvement in creativity ability, which was demonstrated by an increase in the average test result score after the intervention compared to the control group. These findings suggest that gradation techniques in colouring activities can stimulate creativity more effectively, not only in terms of fine motor skills but also in cognitive and aesthetic aspects. This research makes an important contribution to the development of art learning methods in early childhood and opens up opportunities for the application of structured art techniques that can increase children's creativity more optimally.
