Abstract

One of the government's efforts to reduce population growth is through the Family Planning program oriented towards the Norm of a Happy and Prosperous Small Family (NKKBS). The development of the National Family Planning movement has succeeded in reducing the population growth rate and fertility rate (TFR). However, the implementation of the Family Planning program still needs to be improved to the community, especially regarding information and Family Planning services. This study aims to determine the socio-demographic factors and Family Planning services with Family Planning participation. Data collection was carried out on June 27 - August 09, 2024. This research is an analytical correlation using a cross-sectional method. The population in this study were all fertile couples (PUS) in Medan Tuntungan District with a sample technique used was purposive sampling with a total of 83 people. Primary data in this study were obtained from questionnaires and secondary data were obtained from the Village Head Office regarding the number of fertile couples (PUS). The analysis technique used was univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square statistical test. The results of the study showed that there was no relationship between age and family planning participation with (p value 0.512), there was a relationship between education and family planning participation with (p value 0.001), there was a relationship between the number of children and family planning participation with (p value 0.000), there was a relationship between family income and family planning participation with (p value 0.010), there was a relationship between family planning services and family planning participation with (p value 0.003). It is expected that health workers who have an important role in providing information to the community in the form of counseling to increase community knowledge and motivation to participate in family planning, for fertile couples, they can determine the number of children by using family planning, if they are over 35 years old, they are expected not to get pregnant again.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI) is one of the causes of death in children in developing countries. ARI causes 4 out of 15 million deaths in children under 5 years of age each year. In general, there are 3 (three) risk factors for ARI, namely environmental factors consisting of indoor air pollution, home ventilation, housing density, individual child factors consisting of child age, birth weight, nutritional status, and immunization status, and behavioral factors, namely ARI management practices in the family. The purpose of this study was to analyze risk factors for ARI with the occurrence of ARI in toddlers at the Simalingkar Health Center, Medan Tuntungan District in 2024. This study was descriptive correlative with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study were all toddlers diagnosed with ARI totaling 248 and a sample of 72 toddlers was taken by accidental sampling. Data collection was carried out by observation and providing questionnaires directly. Data were analyzed using the chi square test with a significant value of p <0.05. The results show that the risk factors for ARI that are often experienced by toddlers are behavioral factors with a p value smaller than other factors, namely 0.000 and a value of x² = 19.502. Therefore, it is expected that toddler families increase their knowledge by listening to counseling and maintaining the cleanliness of the family environment, as well as providing balanced nutrition to toddlers. Health center officers provide counseling on behavior to prevent ARI, foster relationships with the sub-district to invite the community to clean the environment so as to reduce the risk factors for ARI in the environment.

Abstract

The hybrid working era that combines work in the office and from home poses its own challenges related to workers' mental health that can potentially affect work productivity. This study aims to examine the relationship between mental health, as measured through the variables of job stress, psychological anxiety, and emotional balance, to work productivity in office workers in the hybrid working era. The method used was a quantitative survey with a sample of 200 office workers, analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that work stress and psychological anxiety had a significant negative effect on work productivity, while emotional balance had a significant positive effect. The regression model used was able to explain 53.6% of the variation in work productivity. In addition, classical assumption testing confirmed that the research model was free from multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity, so the validity and reliability of the results can be accounted for. The findings confirm the importance of mental health management in supporting work productivity in a dynamic hybrid working environment. The practical implication of this study is the need for organizations to design intervention programs that reduce stress and anxiety while improving workers' emotional balance in order to achieve optimal performance. This research provides an empirical contribution to the development of mental health and work productivity literature in the era of work pattern transformation.

Abstract

Postpartum depression is a common mental health disorder that often goes untreated, particularly due to limited access to conventional psychological services. Along with the development of technology, digital-based psychological support offers an alternative intervention that is more affordable and flexible. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of digital-based psychological support in reducing depression levels and improving the psychological well-being of postpartum mothers. The study used a quasi-experimental design with two groups (experimental and control), involving 60 purposively selected participants. The intervention was delivered for eight weeks through a digital platform that integrated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness modules. Depression levels were measured using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), as well as additional indicators such as anxiety, stress, and the quality of the mother-child relationship. The results of paired t-test and independent t-test analyses showed a significant reduction in EPDS scores and improvement in psychological well-being indicators in the experimental group (p < 0.001), with a large effect size (Cohen's d = 2.37). ANCOVA analysis confirmed the effectiveness of the intervention after controlling for covariate variables. The qualitative component through semi-structured interviews revealed that ease of access, time flexibility, and emotional support were contributing factors to participants' engagement. These findings indicate that digital interventions can be an effective and applicable approach to managing postpartum depression, and should be integrated into the broader maternal health care system

Teenagers or "adolescence" (English), comes from the Latin "adolescere" which means growing towards maturity. The maturity in question is not only physical maturity, but also social and psychological maturity. This study is descriptive in nature with the aim of determining the Behavioral Factors of adolescents regarding the impact of premarital sex at SMA Parulian 1 Medan in 2025. Data collection was carried out on Sept - Jan, 2025. The population in this study were all adolescents at SMA Parulian 1 Medan, totaling 146 people. The sample of this study is part of the object being studied. The sample size in this study was obtained through stratified random sampling and after that it was carried out again with the simple random sampling formula. Based on the results of the study, it was found that out of 84 respondents, 40 respondents (47.6%) had good knowledge, 41 respondents (48%) had sufficient knowledge, and 3 respondents (3.5%) had insufficient knowledge. Getting information sources from media (electronic, print) as many as 50 respondents (59.5%), from health workers as many as 25 respondents (29.8%), and from friends as many as 9 respondents (10.7%). It turns out that teenagers who have sufficient knowledge are more than those who have good and less knowledge, due to the lack of information obtained by teenagers. It is hoped that teenagers will be more active in seeking information about reproductive health.
