Abstract

Learning outcomes are key indicators of success in the learning process. This study focuses on the digestive system material and aims to analyze the feasibility and effectiveness of Android-based comic media in improving specific student learning outcomes, namely conceptual understanding and creative thinking skills. The media development followed the 4-D model, which includes four stages: Define (identifying learning needs and objectives), Design (planning the media content and interface), Develop (creating and validating the media with experts), and Disseminate (testing the media's effectiveness in the classroom). Validation by material and media experts showed very good validity scores of 87% and 85.25%, respectively. Effectiveness testing on 30 students at Taman Dewasa Junior High School in Jetis Yogyakarta demonstrated a significant improvement in students' creative thinking skills with an n-gain score of 69%. Compared to conventional learning media, the Android-based comic media offers interactive and visually engaging content that helps students better visualize and understand the digestive system material, creating a more motivating and enjoyable learning environment. However, this study is limited by its relatively small sample size and potential biases in measurement, which should be considered when generalizing the results. Overall, the use of Android-based digital comic media presents an innovative and effective solution to enhance science learning quality.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology and the Internet of Things (IoT) presents significant opportunities to enhance sustainable agricultural productivity. However, the integration of these technologies in agriculture faces challenges that remain insufficiently explored. This study aims to examine the role of digital technology and IoT in enhancing sustainable agricultural productivity, identifying both the benefits and challenges associated with their application. Using a qualitative literature review approach, the study analyzes peer-reviewed articles focusing on precision farming, soil sensors, and smart irrigation systems. Findings reveal that while digital technologies and IoT can substantially increase efficiency and productivity, barriers such as limited infrastructure, high implementation costs, and data privacy concerns hinder widespread adoption. The novelty of this study lies in its holistic approach, addressing not only the potential benefits but also the practical challenges of integrating these technologies into sustainable agriculture. The study provides significant insights for agricultural practitioners, policymakers, and technology developers, offering practical recommendations to overcome existing barriers and ensure the effective adoption of these innovations to drive sustainable agricultural development.

Abstract

Geometry thinking ability is the ability of students in terms of observing objects, building definitions based on the characteristics inherent in the object, recognizing the relationship between one object with other objects, and applying it in solving geometry problems. However, the ability to think geometry students are still low. This is because students are still dependent on lecturers in receiving information and learning that occurs in the classroom has not facilitated the ability to think geometry, especially geometry transformation. For this reason, a student activity sheet based on Discovery- Contextual Learning based on van hiele theory was developed which is effective in improving the geometry thinking ability of mathematics education students of STKIP Muhammadiyah Sungai Penuh. The subjects of this study were 5th semester students of mathematics education. The development model used is adapted from the Plomp model. There are three stages in this model, namely preliminary research, prototype phase, and assessment. This study focused on seeing the effectiveness of the product at the assessment stage. The assessment phase was carried out on a field test consisting of 13 students for 9 meetings. The syntax of this learning model includes: 1) Stimulation, 2) Constructivism, 3) Problem Statement, 4) Data Collection, 5) Learning Community, 6) Modeling, 7) Data Processing, 8) Verification, 9) Reflection, and 10) Authentic Assessment.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of agricultural cooperative management in optimizing resources and achieving business sustainability. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through surveys involving 150 agricultural cooperatives across five regions in Indonesia and in-depth interviews with cooperative managers. The findings reveal that cooperatives that effectively optimize financial, human, and natural resources experience up to a 60% increase in turnover and a 25% reduction in operational costs, particularly those that incorporate technology such as IoT for real-time monitoring of soil moisture and climate conditions. Regression analysis indicates a strong positive correlation between strategic planning, technology adoption, and cooperative sustainability, with cooperatives implementing structured planning showing consistent growth over 3–5 years. Despite these benefits, challenges remain, including limited managerial training, restricted access to capital, and insufficient participation in decision-making. This study contributes to the literature by offering empirical evidence of the quantifiable impact of technology and structured resource management on cooperative sustainability, filling the gap in previous research that often overlooked the integration of financial, technological, and managerial strategies. The findings underscore the need for policy interventions, increased training programs, and financial support to facilitate technology adoption, ensuring cooperatives remain competitive in the evolving agricultural landscape.

Abstract

Ownership of land rights is a very important thing to be considered by the Indonesian people. In Indonesia, proof of ownership of recognized land rights is only a certificate, as stipulated in the UUPA and Government Regulation Number 24 of 1997 concerning Land Registration. In the national land law, the Land Certificate has been regulated as a letter that contains physical evidence of the ownership of a plot of land used for the land registration process. The problems raised in this study are how the function of the Land Certificate and the power of proving the Land Certificate in land cases. The Land Certificate only functions as an accompanying document in land registration. However, in the latest provisions regulated in PP 18/2021, it is stated that the Land Certificate only serves as an indication in the context of land registration. The strength of the Land Certificate is not strong, because the UUPA and PP 24/1997 have stated that the evidence of legal ownership of land rights is the Land Rights Certificate. The Land Certificate is not a strong piece of evidence, because it is proof of ownership made under the hand.

Abstract

Poverty remains a major, multidimensional and complex issue that impedes the government’s efforts to boost regional economic growth. This condition is further complicated by the islands’ geographical conditions, which are severely limited in terms of access to education, and transportation. This study examines the impact of Human Development Index (HDI), unemployment rate, and minimum wage on the poverty rate in 11 districts / cities in Maluku Province. This study was conducted using a quantitative-descriptive method, utilizing secondary (time series) data obtained from the BPS Maluku Province during the period of 2004-2022. The data was examined using multiple linear regression analysis. The findings indicate that the Human Development Index (HDI) exerts a partial, positive, and statistically significant influence on the poverty rate, as evidenced by a regression coefficient of 1.886081 and a significance value of 0.0008. Meanwhile, unemployment exhibits no statistically significant impact on the poverty rate, as indicated by a coefficient of 0.011252 and a probability value of 0.9139 (> 0.05). Conversely, the regional minimum wage has been observed to exert a negative and significant influence on the poverty rate, as evidenced by a negative coefficient of -0.395722 and a probability value of 0.0000 (< 0.05). However, the simultaneous estimation of all independent variables indicates a substantial impact on the dependent variable. The implications of this research suggest the necessity for government policies that prioritize island development through the equitable distribution of infrastructure, including education, training, healthcare, and transportation. It is anticipated that this approach will contribute to the reduction of poverty and the enhancement of welfare across the Maluku Province as islands.

Abstract

Low teacher performance in elementary schools is often related to weak managerial practices of principals, particularly in planning, supervision, and communication. Challenges such as assigning teachers who do not match their competencies and ineffective coordination contribute to the deterioration of teaching quality. This study aims to analyze principals' managerial strategies in improving teacher performance, focusing on aspects of program planning, instructional supervision, and leadership communication. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Research informants included principals, teachers, vice principals, and supervisors from three public elementary schools in the Pisang Cluster, Meuraxa District, Banda Aceh. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that principals implement strategies to improve teacher performance through training programs, regular supervision, open dialogue, and teacher involvement in decision-making. Key supporting factors include the availability of learning facilities and conducive communication support. This study contributes to the development of educational leadership practices based on structured and contextual managerial strategies. The implication is that improving the managerial capacity of school principals needs to be a primary focus in strengthening the quality of teaching at the elementary school level.
