Abstract

The Ebeg Turangga Edan performance is one of the traditional folk art groups in Cilacap Regency which uses the Ebeg property which is turned into a horse. The research objective was to describe the form and function of the Turangga Edan Ebeg Performance in Tegalreja Village, Cilacap Selatan District, Cilacap Regency. This research uses qualitative methods, with a structure and function approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data validity technique used triangulation. Data analysis using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research reveal that the Ebeg show is patterned into several parts, namely the initial part of performing the rituals carried out by the penimbul (Pawang), the core part of the three-act presentation, the final part marked by a mass mendheman scene and the closing remarks from the pengimbul / elder / chairman of the Turangga Edan association. Ebeg show is formed from the relationship between elements of the show which includes themes, actors / dancers, movement, music, make-up and fashion, property / equipment, stage, lighting / light and sound, appreciators / audience. The function of the Ebeg Turangga Edan performance in the community of Cilacap Regency includes the functions of ceremonial facilities, self-expression, entertainment, shows / performing arts, educational media, therapy / treatment vehicles, and communication media / social interaction tools. The conclusion is that the Ebeg Turangga Edan show is patterned into parts that are united into one show. The Turangga Edan Ebeg show is used by the community as entertainment.

Abstract

Tirang Communtiy is a group consisting of dance, music and drama activists. The existence of Tirang Community is able to invite young people to join in order to love traditional culture and arts and to package arts so that they are easily accepted by the community. This is the reason for researchers to study the performance of the Kreo Goa Legendary Masterpiece: Before, When and After Performances in Tirang Community Management in Semarang City. The research objective is to analyze the form of the Goa Kreo Legend Masterpiece performance, and analyze the Tirang Community management in the production of the Goa Kreo Legend Masterpiece. Researchers used a phenomenological approach and qualitative methods in preparing research results. The results showed that the form of the Goa Kreo Legend Masterpiece show consisted of pre-show and the core of the show. The supporting elements of the Goa Kreo Legend Masterpiece show consist of performers, movements, accompaniment, fashion, makeup, lighting, settings, themes, plot, floor patterns, places, expressions, properties, and spectators. Tirang Community carries out managerial activities by including management functions and management elements. Abstract

This research is abouth education with demonstration and drill methods of extracurricular activities. The purpose of this research is for describe education interaction process of melinting's dance. This research happened because there are advantages and disadvantages in using demontration and drill methods. This research conducted with qulitative methology and data collection by using observation, interview, and literature review. Data is analyzed through the process of data reduction, data persentation, and verification. Then, data is tested for it is credibility by using triangulation method. The result show how the demontration and drill methods in melinting's dance for extracurricular acrivities in high school and has advantage for teacher and student interaction. The result also for education, because teacher plays a role in education. But, it also has weakness in optmizing interaction between teacher and student.

Abstract

This research was conducted to produce data on Balinese people's beliefs in the mythology of Kala Rahu, the mythology of Kala Rahu will be represented through a form of dance visualization that reviews the lunar eclipse which tells of each event that there is a meeting between Kala Rahu and Dewi Ratih. This research uses a qualitative research type with a phenomenological approach. . The method used in the creation of this dance work is the “Moving from Within: A New Method for Dance Making” method based on a book that has been translated by I Wayan Dibia entitled Moving According to the Heart. The stages of taking the motion steps used are based on the elements of daily movement and the Legong dance. The daily movements taken are like playing. The movement of the Legong dance, the Legong dance has several motion motifs, the motion motifs taken include agem, ulap-ulap, ngeseh, ngumbang. Candra Graha's work is packaged in a dance film shooting video format that makes it easy for the audience to see from various points of view, which will be broadcast online. By choosing to use two dancers with various roles, children, grandmothers, Dewi Ratih, Kala Rahu, Batara Guru, and Batara Narada. The selection of dancers includes the uniformity of posture in the roles performed and the dancer's movement techniques. Results The conclusion from the research can be to carry out motion exploration activities using the data that has been obtained.

Abstract

The Creation of Ngies Dance in the Buang Jong Traditional Procession of the Sawang Tribe with the Footing of the Kedidi Dance Using the Form Within Alma M Hawkins Method, Thesis (Final Choreograph), Dance Education Study Program, Faculty of Language and Arts, State University of Jakarta.This dance work raises the story of a traditional ritual that exists in one of the villages in Bangka Belitung, precisely in the Kumbung Village of South Bangka Regency, namely the Buang Jong Ritual, where throwing garbage means the boat can be interpreted as throwing jong the same as throwing the boat. The method used in this dance work Alma M Hawkins’s method from her book Moving from Within through the stages of experiencing, expressing, seeing, feeling, imagining, manifesting, forming, and evaluating. This dance work reveals how the ritual of throwing Jong was carried out through a new dance work with the footing of the Kedidi Dance movement. This work is the result of a personal observer packaged in a video with new dance moves and music.

Abstract

Cokek is a Betawi art that has been influenced by Chinese leaders’ culture and that was born in the 18th century. Cokek dance in those days was fostered and developed by wealthy Chinese owners. The term Peranakan is defined as a result of mixed cultures; Chinese culture originating from Hokkien migrants in the southern provinces of China and the local culture. The purpose of the research is to develop insight and knowledge about the Chinese Peranakan culture as one of the influencing elements on the Betawi culture, as well as the development of various disciplines such as dance, music, theater and scenography as a source of inspiration for dance creations based on the Cokek dance. The analysis method uses a qualitative method with a Research and Development approach with 10 stages, but in this second phase of the research only uses 7 stages, namely: (1) Potential and Problems, (2) Literature Study and Information Gathering, (3) Product Design, (4) Design Validation, (5) Design Revision, (6) Initial Trial (7) Product Revision. The theory used is the theory of creation of Alma M Hawkins Moving from Within: A New Method for Dance Making in the translation of I Wayan Dibia Moving According to the Heart: A New Method of Creating Dance which consists of experiencing or expressing, seeing, feeling, imagining, manifesting, and forming. Nyai Cukin Era Jakarta Tempo Doeloe was created in the form of a contemporary dance theater and uses 7 female dancers and 6 male dancers. It depicts women as Cokek dancers who can express their weary thoughts through joking while waiting for their partner in Kalijodo.

Abstract

In the COVID-19 emergency, all lectures must be conducted online/virtually, including dance accompanist practice lectures. Students and lecturers are required to carry out practical lectures using human voice/vocals/mouth as the main medium in practicing a dance accompaniment, both Sundanese dance accompaniment and Betawi dance accompaniment according to the current semester RPS. This condition is not easy, because students must have adequate musical abilities, the simplest is that students must be able to catch melodies in harmony, must be able to catch rhythm/rhythm, and tempo in a dance accompaniment. Theoretical studies in this study use the theory of acapella, musicality, and gamut (oral gamelan) which explains musical ability, aspects of musical ability, and factors that influence musical ability. The research method uses Kurt Lewin's action research model, research conducted by teachers in their own classrooms through self-reflection, with the aim of improving their performance, so that learning outcomes increase. After going through several stages of the cycle, starting from the pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II, through the mother's actions there was a significant increase in students' musical abilities through the application of the gamut method (oral gamelan).

Abstract

Temanggung Regency is famous for the performance art of Kuda Lumping, especially after experiencing developments in 1972, namely by rearranging motion, accompaniment, make-up, clothing, and other supporting elements, and structuring motion. So that in that era this art was very well known and became the pride of the Temanggung people for being part of the opening ceremony of the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah in 1975. Since the late 1990s this art has experienced developments carried out by each group by incorporating elements of other regional cultures. even elements of western culture in the show. Abstract

Bullying is a situation where a person or a group of people abuse their power. Saleh is taken from the name of the inspirational figure, Raden Saleh Syarif Bustaman. Rundung Saleh depicts a story of bullying experienced by Raden Saleh Syarif Bustaman. The correlation of the title and the story of bullying experienced by Raden Saleh is that bullying still happening nowadays. The "Rundung Saleh" dance work is based on the basic movements of the keurseus dance and daily movements using the Alma M Hawkins creation method. The process and results of the embodiment of the dance work is presented in dance film format, which is the result of movement variations through a cinematic process and animated by natural elements or technological manipulation. Therefore, this dance work "Rundung Saleh" is using a shooting techniques according to the concept of stage arrangement or decorative room. The presentation of the dance work uses a dramatic dance type and a double cone dramatic design with a symbolic representational presentation mode.

Abstract

Barong Landung is a mythology that is believed by the Balinese people. The mythology of Barong Landung will be represented through a dance visualization that discusses the love story of King Jayapangus, Dewi Danu and Kang Cing Wie. His dance work was created to answer the problem of the original story from most of the stories circulating among the community and to answer the problem of how to create a dance work with use the mythological theme of the Barong Landung with the aim of creating a form of footing for Legong Kang Cing Wie. The method used of this dance work is the creation method of Prof. Dr. I Wayan Dibia in his book entitled "Panca Sthiti Ngawi Sani". This dance work is packaged in a dance film video format that makes it easy for the audience to see from various points of view. This dance work will be broadcast online through the YouTube channel. This dance work uses 3 dancers who play Raja Jayapangus, Dewi Danu which also acts as Kang Cing Wie and Beautiful Women.
