Abstract

This study investigates I'jaz Ta'thiri, understood as the miraculous or transformative influence of the Qur’an, within the perspective of the Living Quran, particularly through the subjective experiences of patients undergoing Ruqyah Shar'iyyah in Bandung, West Java. Employing a qualitative research design and phenomenological approach, the study explores how individuals from different social and professional backgrounds—including musicians, academics, and housewives—experience and interpret the Qur’an during ruqyah practices. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews and analyzed to identify patterns in participants’ experiences and meanings. The research demonstrates that the Qur’an is perceived not only as a sacred text to be read and understood but also as a performative force that operates within embodied, psychological, and spiritual experiences. Three principal dimensions of its influence were identified. First, somatic resonance refers to bodily responses experienced by participants, including sensations and perceived physical healing that occurred without direct medical intervention. Second, metaphysical visualization describes intense inner experiences, such as memories or flashbacks related to past sins and symbolic visions of Nur (divine light), which participants associated with their spiritual condition. Third, psychospiritual transformation reflects profound changes in emotional and spiritual states, particularly the movement from anxiety, fear, and inner unrest toward tranquility and Sakinah. These findings indicate that Ruqyah Shar'iyyah practices in Bandung provide a significant example of the Living Quran, in which Qur’anic verses become dynamically integrated into lived religious experiences. The Qur’an consequently functions as an active source of physical, psychological, and spiritual transformation, demonstrating how its meaning and power are continuously constructed through embodied religious practice and individual experience.

Abstract

This study analyzes the dynamics of multiculturalism and the cultural acculturation of Rohingya Muslim refugees in Aceh, Indonesia, focusing on cultural identity, social interaction, and the education of the younger generation. Aceh was chosen as the research locus because it has consistently welcomed Rohingya since 2015, driven by cultural values and Islamic solidarity. A qualitative approach and case studies were used to understand how Rohingya identity is conveyed, negotiated, and maintained within the Acehnese social context. The results indicate that acculturation occurs primarily in the religious dimension and daily practices but is selective and limited. Language barriers, the separation of living spaces through refugee camps, and the lack of legal status limit deeper social integration. The interaction between the two communities is more reflective of surface multiculturalism based on humanitarian empathy rather than structural integration. Meanwhile, education and the second generation of Rohingya show significant potential as agents of more adaptive acculturation through schooling and informal training. This study concludes that multiculturalism in Aceh is situational and requires more inclusive policy support, particularly in education, access to social interaction, and residential stability, so that relations between the Acehnese and Rohingya communities can develop sustainably and integratively.

Abstract

Amidst increasingly intense competition and growing demands for sustainable business practices, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are faced with the need to build a sustainable competitive advantage over the long term. Several previous studies have highlighted the role of digital capabilities and corporate social responsibility as important factors in creating competitive advantage. However, understanding the conditions that influence the effectiveness of these two factors in driving sustainable competitive advantage remains relatively limited, particularly in the context of MSMEs in developing countries. Based on the resource-based view and stakeholder theory framework, this study aims to analyze the influence of digital capabilities and corporate social responsibility on sustainable competitive advantage. In addition, this study also explores the role of green entrepreneurial orientation as a moderating variable in this relationship. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method, involving 205 MSMEs in Kendari City, Indonesia. The collected data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) version 4.0. The research findings indicate that digital capabilities have a positive and significant influence on the sustainable competitive advantage of MSMEs. Furthermore, corporate social responsibility has been shown to positively contribute to enhancing sustainable competitive advantage, with this influence being further strengthened when supported by a green entrepreneurial orientation. However, the analysis shows that green entrepreneurial orientation does not act as a moderating variable in the relationship between digital capabilities and sustainable competitive advantage. These findings provide theoretical and practical implications for developing MSME sustainability strategies.

Abstract

The Indonesian digital economy has encouraged micro-business owners' use of Digital Financial Services (DFS). These services have been widely adopted, but these actors' financial behavior (FB) and well-being (FWB) have not improved. This study analyzes how DFS and SC affect FWB directly and indirectly FB. Financial Literacy (FL), Sharia Financial Literacy (SFL), and Digital Financial Literacy (DFL) moderate the link between DFS and SC with FB. The quantitative survey study targets 300 West Java micro-entrepreneurs. Data was obtained using structured questionnaires and analyzed using SEM-PLS.  Both DFS and SC positively and dramatically affect FB and FWB. FB also boosts FWB and mediates DFS–FWB and SC–FWB interactions. Moreover, FL, SFL, and DFL amplify the impact of DFS on FB. In the association between SC and FB, FL and SFL function as important moderators, whereas DFL does not moderate this association. The findings indicate that enhancing the financial well-being of micro-entrepreneurs is affected by access to digital financial services and social resources, as well as the quality of their financial behavior and their level of literacy.

Abstract

This study examines how schools strategically manage culture—beyond routine practices—to internalize noble values and consistently enhance the quality of learning amid modern challenges. Using a descriptive qualitative approach (observation, in-depth interviews, documentation), it analyzes planning, implementation, and evaluation of school culture grounded in Achmad Sanusi’s six-dimensional value system (theological, ethical-legal, aesthetic, logical-rational, physical-physiological, and teleological). Findings show that effective culture management makes this value system a reference for individual and organizational attitudes, mindsets, and actions: theological values foster spiritual motivation; ethical-legal values build discipline and confidence; logical-rational and teleological values improve management quality, work performance, school effectiveness, and accountability. The study concludes that school culture management, rooted in a comprehensive value foundation, creates a conducive environment for the sustainable realization of the educational vision and mission.

Abstract

This study provides a comparative analysis of the implementation of universal health insurance laws in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia within the frameworks of health law and public policy, grounded in Universal Health Coverage principles. Employing a normative legal methodology—incorporating literature reviews and comparative legal analysis—the paper examines the regulatory frameworks, institutional governance, and implementation mechanisms of BPJS Kesehatan (Indonesia), PhilHealth under the Universal Health Care Act (Philippines), and the tax-funded public healthcare system in Malaysia. The findings reveal distinct institutional approaches: mandatory social health insurance in Indonesia, automatic enrollment in the Philippines, and tax-financed direct service provision in Malaysia. Effectiveness depends not only on coverage and financing but also on regulatory design, governance quality, and accountability. Key challenges include contribution compliance, fraud risks, and fiscal sustainability. The study recommends strengthening regulatory integration, institutional transparency, and national health information systems, while emphasizing social equity and accountability to safeguard the right to health. This report contributes to the field of comparative health law by highlighting regulatory coherence, governance, and fiscal capacity as critical factors for the effectiveness of Universal Health Coverage in Southeast Asia.

Abstract

Amid demands of Indonesia’s Independent Curriculum, rural elementary teachers—such as at SDN Cintanagara, Cianjur—face challenges in professional competence, including low participation in self-development and limited adaptation to learning technology. The Learning Community Program (PKB), part of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI), is intended as a managerial strategy to enhance teacher competence but encounters obstacles in coordination and monitoring/evaluation. This qualitative case study analyzes PKB management (planning, implementation, evaluation) and its impact on teacher development at SDN Cintanagara, using in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, with thematic analysis and triangulation. Grounded in Bush’s POAC educational management theory, Wenger’s learning community concept, and SPMI policy (Permendikbud No. 28/2016), findings show PKB management is moderately effective: ~75% success in planning/implementation via MGMP and KKG activities, and a 68% increase in pedagogical competence (pre-/post-test). Evaluation remains suboptimal due to limited measurable indicators. Overall, PKB significantly improves professional competence when supported by continuous monitoring, strong school leadership, and digital platforms for hybrid learning communities.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of teacher-parent collaboration as an integral part of learning quality management in elementary schools. Ideally, such collaboration should be managed in a planned, systematic, and continuous manner. However, empirical observations reveal a gap between the demands for improving learning quality and the actual collaboration practices, which tend to be incidental, lacking formal documentation, and not fully integrated into the school's overall management. This condition was identified at SD Negeri Sukajaya in Cianjur Regency and SD Negeri Legokbedo in Bandung Regency. This study aims to describe and analyze the management of teacher-parent collaboration in enhancing student learning quality through the Plan, Do, Check, and Act (PDCA) cycle.  This research employs a qualitative approach with an analytical descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies involving the school principals, sixth-grade teachers, and parents. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity tested using triangulation. The results indicate that the collaboration between teachers and parents in both schools has been implemented based on the PDCA cycle, albeit with varying degrees of systematization. This collaboration contributes to the improvement of learning quality, particularly in terms of learning assistance and communication between the school and parents. Nevertheless, strengthening is required in the areas of formal planning, data-driven evaluation, and documented follow-up to ensure that the enhancement of learning quality can proceed optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

Improving teacher performance is a key factor in achieving quality basic education, which is greatly influenced by the effectiveness of the principal's leadership, particularly through the implementation of situational leadership and academic supervision. This study aims to analyze the principal's situational leadership management through academic supervision, its supporting and inhibiting factors, and its impact on improving teacher performance at SDN Palasari, Cianjur Regency, and SDN Pangestu, Sukabumi Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies, with the research subjects being the principal and teachers. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that SDN Palasari implements structured and scheduled academic supervision, which has an impact on improving teacher regularity and discipline, although it still tends to be top-down. Meanwhile, SDN Pangestu implements collaborative and reflective learning community-based academic supervision, which has an impact on increasing teacher motivation and professional development, but is not yet supported by an optimal control system. The conclusion of this study indicates that the principal's situational leadership management through academic supervision is effective in improving teacher performance if it balances structural and collaborative approaches according to the teacher's needs and readiness.

Abstract

Competition between educational institutions in the digital era requires madrasas to develop more adaptive promotional strategies through the use of social media. State Islamic Junior High Schools (MTsN) in Bekasi City face challenges in attracting prospective new students because social media management has not been carried out optimally and integrated into the institution's management strategy. Data from the Bekasi City Ministry of Religious Affairs in 2024 shows that the number of MTsN applicants has decreased by around 15% compared to public schools. This study aims to analyze the management of social media use in increasing the number of prospective new MTsN students in Bekasi City, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of digital strategies. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design at three MTsN in Bekasi City. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with madrasah principals and social media management staff, observation of official social media accounts, and analysis of promotional documents. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that social media management was still weak at the content planning and digital performance evaluation stages. Optimizing creative content strategies and strengthening human resource capacity has the potential to increase the attractiveness of madrasas.
