SANISKALA: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat is a scientific multidisciplinary journal published by FKIP Universitas Majalengka. It is on the national level that covers a lot of common problems or issues related to community services. The aim of this journal publication is to disseminate the conceptual thoughts or ideas and research results that have been achieved in the area of community services. SANISKALA: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat contains various activities of lecturers in handling and managing the various potentials, obstacles, challenges, and problems that exist in society. Implementation of service activities also involves the participation of the community and partners. Service activities are organized into an activity aimed at improving the welfare of society. Jurnal Saniskala is an open-access journal published twice a year (May and November). We accept articles of the author can be derived various countries, with the scientific field of Education.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (PKM) on Mathematics Tutoring for Grade X B Students of MAN 1 Probolinggo on the Topic of Radical Forms was conducted to enhance students’ understanding of the relationship between exponents and radicals. Preliminary observations revealed that most of the 19 male students in the class faced difficulties in mastering the basic concept of exponents, which affected their comprehension of radical expressions. The program was implemented over six weeks with one session per week using a tutoring-based learning approach. The implementation consisted of five stages: planning, pretest, tutoring sessions, posttest, and evaluation. The results showed an increase in the average score from 46 on the pretest to 80 on the posttest, along with improved motivation and active participation during learning activities. Therefore, this PKM activity proved effective in strengthening students’ conceptual understanding of radicals and can serve as an alternative strategy to address learning difficulties in mathematics at the senior high school level.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to help students overcome difficulties in learning mathematics, particularly in the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV). Based on initial observations at MTs Nurul Jadid, it was found that many ninth-grade students in Class IX Reguler 4 experienced difficulties in constructing mathematical models and solving problems using graphical, substitution, elimination, or combined methods. To address this issue, the learning sessions were carried out using interactive and contextual approaches that emphasize active student participation in the learning process. The activity was implemented in five stages: (1) planning and preparation, (2) pretest to measure students’ initial abilities, (3) guided learning sessions, (4) posttest to measure improvements in learning outcomes, and (5) evaluation. The program was conducted over four meetings, each lasting 40 minutes, involving 24 students from Class IX Reguler 4. The results indicated a significant improvement in learning outcomes. The average pretest score of 77.5 increased to 92.1 in the posttest. Students also demonstrated high enthusiasm and participation throughout the sessions. They reported feeling more confident and motivated in learning mathematics. Based on these results, it can be concluded that guided learning activities are effective in improving students’ understanding of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV) and in helping them overcome difficulties in learning mathematics. This program is expected to be continued and further developed to support the improvement of mathematics learning quality in the pesantren environment.

Abstract

De’Chick Kiarapedes merupakan UMKM kuliner cepat saji yang menghadapi permasalahan dalam pengelolaan logistik, terutama pada aspek pengadaan bahan baku, pencatatan persediaan, dan sistem penyimpanan. Pembelian bahan masih dilakukan secara reaktif tanpa perencanaan berbasis data, pencatatan stok dilakukan secara manual, serta belum diterapkannya prinsip First In First Out (FIFO). Kondisi ini berdampak pada ketidaktepatan jumlah persediaan, potensi pemborosan bahan, dan keterlambatan pelayanan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi sistem logistik melalui program pendampingan dan digitalisasi persediaan. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan secara partisipatif melalui tahapan observasi, identifikasi masalah, pelatihan pencatatan stok berbasis Google Sheets, pendampingan penerapan sistem FIFO, serta penyusunan standar operasional prosedur (SOP) logistik. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kerapian pencatatan stok, perencanaan pembelian yang lebih terstruktur berdasarkan data penjualan, serta pengurangan risiko pemborosan bahan. Implementasi digitalisasi sederhana dan pembakuan prosedur kerja terbukti membantu meningkatkan efisiensi operasional dan kecepatan pelayanan. Kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam penguatan kapasitas manajerial UMKM serta mendukung keberlanjutan usaha secara lebih adaptif dan kompetitif.

Abstract

This Community Partnership Program (PKM) activity aims to develop and implement the Modified Snakes and Ladders learning media as an effort to improve students' concentration and understanding of the material on arithmetic operations with powers of numbers, especially after recess when learning focus tends to decrease. This game media is designed by adding question cards containing exercises on the application of exponent properties in each specific box. The implementation of the activity includes the preparation stage, socialization, teacher mentoring, implementation of the game with grade VIII students of Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo Middle School, and evaluation of the media's effectiveness. The results of the activity show that the use of the Modified Snakes and Ladders can increase student activity, motivation, and concentration in learning. Based on the questionnaire, 87% of students stated that learning became more enjoyable, 82% found it easier to concentrate after recess, and teachers considered this media suitable for use in learning. In addition, there was an increase in students' average scores of 18–22% after using the media. Thus, the Modified Snakes and Ladders media is proven to be effective as an innovative learning strategy based on Game-Based Learning that can strengthen understanding of exponent concepts and encourage an interactive, collaborative, and enjoyable learning atmosphere
