Abstract

Background: Spinal health is the most important part of a child's body posture. Age 2-6 years is a period of rapid growth and during this period the vertebral curve will develop rapidly too. The greater the degree of lateral vertebral curve, the more it will result in a posture abnormality called scoliosis. One of the factors that influences body posture abnormalities is the degree of arcus pedis, which normally forms in the first five years of development in children aged 2-6 years. The degree of the vertebral curve can be measured using a scoliometer and the degree of the arcus pedis using the footprint test (Clarke's Angle). This research aims to see whether there is a relationship between the degree of Arcus pedis and the degree of vertebral curve in children 4-6 years old in the Kartasura area. Methods: This research is quantitative research with research methods using univariate analysis, data normality and bivariate. The number of respondents was 565, and the method used was purposive sampling with inclusion, exclusion and dropout criteria. Results: The results of the correlation test using the Nonparametric Correlation Test with the Spearman Rank Test show that there is no relationship between the degree of the Arcus pedis and the degree of the vertebra with a p-value of 0.228 (p>0.05) and the correlation level is very weak (0.051) and the direction of the relationship is positive or unidirectional. Conclusion: There is no relationship between the degree of arcus pedis and the degree of vertebral curve in children aged 4-6 years in the Kartasura area.

Abstract

Introduction: Cerebral palsy is a chronic condition of movement and posture disorders in children. Children with CP have the potential to experience decreased lung volume due to limited physical activity. So far, breathing exercises have been carried out using conventional media such as whistles, blowing out candles, and the like. A breathing exercise application was created using an Android device called SETITI (sebul tiup-tiup). This application aims to increase children's motivation with modern media, increase practicality in training children with CP to breathe deeply and monitor the results of blowing with numbers that appear on the device screen. The level of accessibility and quality of the application is not yet known so it needs to be researched. This research aims to determine the level of accessibility and quality of the SETITI application. Methods: 17 parents with CP children downloaded the app and tried it on their children. The child is asked to blow into the device's microphone and feedback will appear from the device screen in the form of a moving animation and the sound of applause if the child is successful. After that, parents fill out a questionnaire about the accessibility and quality of the application during use. Results: 100% of parents stated that this application was easy to access and easy to use, had good picture and sound quality, and motivated children to practice breathing. Conclusion: the SETITI breathing exercise application has very easy accessibility, is easy to use, and has good picture and sound quality. It is necessary to increase the choice of screen displays in the form of children's favorite cartoon characters.

Abstract

Introduction: Injuries to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) are some of the most prevalent musculoskeletal injuries, especially among athletes and those participating in high-impact sports or physical activities. To evaluate balance recovery in patients following Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction using the Mini-Balance Evaluation Systems Test (Mini-BESTest). Methods: This study assessed the balance abilities of post-ACL reconstruction patients by administering the Mini-BESTest. A total of 50 patients participated, completing the test at 6 months post-surgery. The results were compared to a control group of healthy individuals to determine the effectiveness of the Mini-BESTest in identifying balance deficits post-reconstruction. Results: The Mini-BESTest scores indicated significant differences in balance abilities between the post-ACL reconstruction group and the healthy control group (p<0.03). Patients demonstrated improved balance over time, but still showed deficits compared to healthy peers. Factors such as age, gender, and time since surgery were analysed for their impact on balance recovery. Conclusion: The Mini-BESTest proved to be a valuable tool for assessing balance recovery in post-ACL reconstruction patients. While improvements were noted, there remains a need for targeted rehabilitation to fully restore balance. This study highlights the utility of the Mini-BESTest in clinical settings to monitor and guide rehabilitation strategies.

Abstract

Introduction: Gross motor skills are complex motor skills involving the large muscles of the arms, leg muscles, and most require coordination of all four limbs in children. Optimization is needed for gross motor development, one of which is by providing external stimulus, namely rhythmic gymnastics. Rhythmic gymnastics is a physical activity carried out with rhythmic accompaniment with complex movements and involving all body parts. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of rhythmic gymnastics for the development of gross motor skills in preschool children. Methods: The type of research used in this research is quasi experimental, with a purposive technique sampling. The research sample was preschool aged children (5-6 years) with a total of 22 samples who were treated with rhythmic exercise 12 times for 4 weeks, with 3 times each week and 22 samples as the control group. The examination instrument in this study used TGMD-2 (Test of Gross Motor Development). Results: Based on statistical testers, it was found that rhythmic exercise was effective for the gross motor development of preschool children with p 0.00 < 0.05, which means that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Conclusion: In this study was that whether rhythmic exercise was given or not, children still experienced an increase in gross motor development in both groups with a significant difference of 0.01 in the control group and 0.00 in the intervention group.

Abstract

Introduction: This study aims to analyze the relationship between the education level of health workers and their perceptions of physiotherapy needs at Puskesmas Malang City. Perception, which is an individual's view or understanding of an object, is influenced by various factors, including education level. Methods: The method used was a quantitative approach with data collection through questionnaires distributed to health workers at the health center. Data analysis was conducted using the Chi-Square test to identify the relationship between education level and perception of physiotherapy needs. Results: The results showed that the significance value (p) was 0.439, which means p> 0.05, so there was no significant relationship between education level and perception of physiotherapy needs. Although most health workers had positive perceptions, this finding suggests that education did not directly influence their perceptions. Conclusion: This suggests that although education can improve knowledge, other factors such as work experience, training, and social environment also play a role in shaping health workers' perceptions of physiotherapy. This study is expected to provide useful information for the development of education and training programs for health workers in improving their understanding of physiotherapy, as well as encouraging better collaboration in health services.

Abstract

Introduction: A developmental process always accompanies a child's growth. Children whose growth is good will experience good development as well. Pre-school children begin to be taught activities related to academics, namely recognising letters and numbers, counting, memorising prayers and songs, writing and even reading. These academic abilities must be based on the readiness or maturity of the child's development of gross motor, fine motor, observation, speech and social. To make pre-school children become children who are ready at the next level of education, it is necessary to stimulate proper development by training many children to do physical activities. And to detect children's development, there needs to be an instrument that is fast, easy and precise, one of which is the SDIDTK application based on android. Research objective to determine the effectiveness of physical activity and SDIDTK application based on android on the motor development of PAUD children. Methods: experimental with a total sample of 50 people divided into control and treatment groups. Results: The group that was given physical activity treatment and SDIDTK measurement assistance based on android to parents had better motor development than the control group. Conclusion: physical activity is beneficial for children to improve motor development.
