Abstract

Students' persistently low mathematical literacy skills are often attributed to learning processes that are overly abstract and disconnected from reality. To address this gap, integrating cultural contexts into education is essential. This study aims to analyze students' mathematical literacy skills in solving contextual problems based on the local culture of the Sasak tribe. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, participants were selected from class VIII-B at MTsN 2 Mataram, involving three subjects representing high, moderate, and low ability categories. Data were collected through essay tests laden with Sasak ethnomathematics (Peresean, Gendang Beleq, and Kain Songket contexts) and in-depth interviews, then analyzed via data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that high-ability students can comprehensively formulate, employ, and interpret mathematical problems. Moderate-ability students demonstrate adequate procedural mastery but exhibit weaknesses in symbolic modeling. Conversely, low-ability students experience epistemological obstacles and logical errors starting from the initial formulation stage. The study implies that although Sasak culture functions effectively as cognitive scaffolding, its application necessitates reinforcing fundamental conceptual understanding and implementing differentiated learning approaches.

Abstract

Internalization of Islamic Social Values through Outing Class at the Mataram Islamic Center Mosque among SDN 3 Bengkel Lombok Barat Students. This study analyzes the internalization of Islamic social values through an outing class conducted at the Mataram Islamic Center Mosque. Using a descriptive qualitative case-study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving elementary students, Islamic education teachers, and activity facilitators. The findings show that outing class enables students to experience Islamic values contextually through prayer practice, hajj simulation, disciplined participation, and guided social interaction in a mosque environment. The mosque functions not only as a worship space but also as an educational and socialization arena where students learn adab, discipline, cooperation, and responsibility. Teachers play a central role as agents of value internalization through hidden curriculum, modeling, habituation, and corrective guidance. The study concludes that outing class can serve as a contextual and applicative model of Islamic education that integrates cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning for strengthening students’ religious character.

Abstract

This study examines the portrayal of the 25 prophets and messengers along with their prayers in the Qur’an and Hadith and their relevance to Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the 21st century. The research employed a qualitative approach using library research methods through the analysis of primary and secondary sources, including the Qur’an, Hadith, tafsir books, books, and scientific articles. The findings reveal that the stories and prayers of the prophets contain exemplary values of spirituality, morality, leadership, patience, and responsibility that are highly relevant to the challenges of modern education. These values can strengthen Islamic Religious Education in shaping religious, moderate, humanistic, and adaptive character in response to technological advancement and social change. Furthermore, the stories and prayers of the prophets can serve as contextual learning media to develop students’ spiritual awareness and ethical values in the digital era. Therefore, the integration of prophetic values into Islamic Religious Education plays an important role in addressing the moral and spiritual crises of 21st-century society.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan salah satu kompetensi penting yang harus dimiliki mahasiswa Pendidikan Fisika, terutama dalam mempelajari materi diferensial dan integral yang menjadi dasar berbagai kajian fisika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Fisika pada materi diferensial dan integral berdasarkan hasil belajar mata kuliah Kalkulus. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 77 mahasiswa yang terdiri atas 38 mahasiswa kelas A dan 39 mahasiswa kelas B. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui dokumentasi nilai akhir mata kuliah Kalkulus dan dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif berupa rata-rata, median, nilai minimum, nilai maksimum, standar deviasi, serta kategori kemampuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai mahasiswa kelas A sebesar 74,29 dan kelas B sebesar 71,98. Sebagian besar mahasiswa berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase 73,68% pada kelas A dan 66,67% pada kelas B. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa pada materi diferensial dan integral berada pada kategori sedang.

Abstract

This study develops and evaluates machine-learning models based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for recognizing images of Arabic vocabulary (mufradat) and for deploying these models on resource-constrained mobile devices. Whereas most prior research on Arabic-script recognition has concentrated on isolated characters executed on desktop hardware, the recognition of whole words—whose connected and visually similar glyphs increase classification difficulty—remains comparatively underexplored, particularly for on-device educational use. To address this gap, the study contributes (i) a purpose-built image dataset of fifteen academic Arabic words, (ii) a systematic comparison between a CNN trained from scratch and a MobileNetV2 transfer-learning model, and (iii) a quantified analysis of mobile deployment. An experimental approach was adopted using 3,000 images (200 per class) compiled from tablet handwriting and Microsoft Word screen-captured images, partitioned through a stratified 70/15/15 training, validation, and testing split. Both models were trained using the Adam optimizer (learning rate 1×10⁻⁴), a batch size of 32, and 50 epochs. The from-scratch five-convolution model attained 94.4% test accuracy (loss 0.26; macro-averaged F1-score 0.95), whereas the MobileNetV2 model attained 99.1% accuracy (loss 0.20; macro-averaged F1-score 0.99). After conversion to TensorFlow Lite, the MobileNetV2 model required only 9.1 MB of storage and 42 ms per inference on a mid-range Android device, compared with 103 MB and 180 ms for the from-scratch model, confirming its suitability for real-time use. The findings demonstrate that transfer learning achieves higher accuracy with markedly fewer parameters and a smaller computational footprint, providing an efficient foundation for mobile-assisted Arabic vocabulary learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of multiple-choice test items. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach involving 30 students of SMK Negeri 3 Tebing Tinggi as the research subjects. The object of the study consisted of 25 multiple-choice items. The data were collected through tests and documentation, then analyzed quantitatively to determine the quality of each test item. The results of the difficulty level analysis showed that 10 items were difficult, moderate items consisting of 13 items, and 2 easy items. The discrimination index analysis indicated that most items were categorized as very good, with 17 items in this category, while 2 items were categorized as good, 4 items as sufficient, and 2 items as poor. Meanwhile, the distractor effectiveness analysis showed that 17 items had very good distractors, while 8 items required revision due to ineffective answer options. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that item analysis is essential to ensure the quality of evaluation instruments, so that the scoring and assessment of students' learning outcomes can be conducted more objectively, accurately, and fairly

Abstract

Child education in Islam is not limited to knowledge transmission but encompasses the development of spiritual awareness, moral character, and social responsibility. This study aims to reconstruct a pedagogical model of child education based on Muhammad Quraish Shihab’s interpretation of QS. Luqman 12–19 in Tafsir Al-Mishbah and to examine its relevance in the contemporary era. The study employed a qualitative approach using library research and thematic (maudhu’i) analysis. Data were analyzed through four stages: identification of relevant verses, examination of interpretative meanings, categorization of pedagogical values, and synthesis into a conceptual framework. The findings reveal three interconnected dimensions of Islamic child pedagogy: (1) tawhid as the foundation of spiritual consciousness, (2) akhlaq as the core of character formation, and (3) a dialogic-affective approach as the primary educational method. The novelty of this study lies in the integrative reconstruction of a Qur’anic pedagogical model that combines spiritual, moral, and methodological dimensions, offering a relevant framework for contemporary Islamic education in addressing the challenges of the digital era.

Abstract

This study was conducted in response to the growing challenges of intolerance among adolescents in the digital era, influenced by social media, stereotypes, and social polarization within diverse communities. The research aimed to analyze the role of the family as an informal educational institution in fostering tolerance values among adolescents. A qualitative method with a phenomenological approach was employed. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with ten informants selected using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that families play a vital role in developing adolescents’ tolerance through parental role modeling, open communication, and the cultivation of respect for differences in daily life. However, social media and peer influences may hinder the internalization of tolerance values when not accompanied by adequate parental supervision. The study concludes that the family serves as a key foundation in shaping a tolerant, open-minded generation capable of living harmoniously in a multicultural society.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of audio-visual media in stimulating the moral development of children aged 5–6 years at PAUD Al-Arif in the 2023/2024 academic year. This research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The subjects of the study were all 10 children in Group B at PAUD Al-Arif Teko. Data collection instruments included validation sheets, observation sheets, and documentation. The data analysis techniques involved observational analysis, prerequisite tests, and hypothesis testing. The results showed an improvement in children’s moral development, with a pre-test score of 85 and an average percentage of 43% (categorised as “Beginning to Develop”), while the post-test score increased to 181 with an average of 91% (categorised as “Very Well Developed”). The t-test results indicated that t_calculated (16.648) was greater than t_table (1.833), demonstrating a significant effect. Therefore, audio-visual media is effective in enhancing the moral development of children aged 5–6 years at PAUD Al-Arif Teko.

Abstract

This study examines ethnopedagogy as a link between in-depth learning and the application of Sasak cultural local wisdom in the context of school education. The focus of this study is traditional games such as selodor, gasing, jingklak, enjang-enjang, and dengklek, which are used as learning tools to create a fun, interactive, and meaningful learning process for students, without relying entirely on modern technology-based media. A qualitative literature study method was used to analyze various scientific journals, books, and previous studies that discuss in-depth learning, learning to think, ethnopedagogy, and Sasak culture. The research findings indicate that these Sasak folk games, which have been passed down through generations, are able to teach values ​​such as discipline, teamwork, concentration, self-awareness, emotional control, motor coordination, social interaction, and self-awareness. These games also support the pillars of mindful learning. Therefore, learning based on Sasak local wisdom can be an alternative in-depth learning method that still maintains local cultural identity
