The Journal of Social Work and Science Education (JSWSE) is firmly established as an authoritative voice in the world of social work and science education with E-ISSN: 2723-6919 and P-ISSN 2746-0827. JSWSE publishes scholarly papers that focus on the social science, teaching and learning, science in school settings ranging from early childhood to university education. It bridges the gap between research and practice, providing information, ideas and opinion. As a truly international journal, JSWSE welcomes contributions from any country provided that the authors explain their local contexts and demonstrate the significance of their work for a global readership. Special emphasis is placed on applicable research relevant to social sciences, educational practice, educational realities in systems, schools, colleges and universities. JSWSE is concerned with social science and science education but also welcomes manuscripts on the integration of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or, geography, and the arts. Abstract

This study aims to determine whether or not there is an influence of quizizz media on vocabulary mastery in Indonesian class V elementary school subjects. This study used an experimental method with a research design in the form of a true experimental design. The researcher used a sample consisting of two classes, namely the experimental group in class VA with 20 students including 14 boys and 6 girls while the control group in class VB had 20 students which included 12 boys and 8 girls. In this study using data collection techniques in the form of tests and documentation. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test with 20 valid questions. Based on the results of the hypothesis test using the t-test of two independent samples (independent sample t-test) the value of t-count is 4.123 and t-table is 1.686 with α = 0.05 and df = 38, then t-count ˃ t-table so that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected so that it can be it was concluded that there was an influence of quizizz media on vocabulary mastery in grade V Indonesian subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the results and analyze the ability of backhand drive techniques in students who take part in extracurricular table tennis at SMA Negeri 5 Lubukinggau. This study is quantitative descriptive research. The research sample amounted to 16 students who participated in extracurricular table tennis at SMA Negeri 5 Lubuklinggau, from this study the results were obtained namely the ability to hit backhand drives with the category “very good” numbered 0 people with a percentage of 0%, in the category “good” amounted to 2 people with a percentage of 12.50%, in the category “medium” amounted to 4 people with a percentage of 25%, in the theory of “less” there were 8 people with a percentage of 25%, while the “very less” category consists of 2 people with a percentage of 2.50%, thus it can be concluded that the results of backhand drive hitting ability in students who take part in extracurricular table tennis at SMA Negeri 5 Lubuklinggau are in the “less” category with average results of 25.68.

Abstract

This study aims to describe strategies for improving school management performance at SMK Negeri 2 Kayuagung. Data collection tools using interviews, documentation, observation and literature review. Data analysis used descriptive qualitative analysis with research stages referring to Miles and Huberman’s theory, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions. The results of the study stated that the principal’s strategy at SMK Negeri 2 Kayuagung in improving management performance through the planning sector, the organizing sector, the implementation sector and the supervision sector at SMK Negeri 2 Kayuagung. The obstacles faced in improving school management performance are in the implementation sector of improving the quality of learning and increasing teacher competence at SMK Negeri 2 Kayuagung. Solutions to some of the obstacles include 1) carrying out continuous coaching and training of teachers, supervising, evaluating and providing directions for improvement.

Abstract

This research is an experiment with the pretest-posttest control group design method. The type of research used in this study is a type of experimental research with a quasi-experimental design. This research is experimental research and the research design used is Quasi Experimental Design, namely the Group Pretest Posttest Design. The sample used in this study were SSB Joma Putra Sunda Palembang players aged 10-16 years in 2023, totaling 15 players. The sampling technique in this study used a systematic sampling technique and an ordinal pair system. This research as a whole used test, measurement and documentation methods. The results of the study mean/average results of throws in SSB Joma Putra Sunda Palembang players in the medicine ball practice group after being treated experienced an increase from the pre-test of 7.62 to the post-test of 8.65 or with an increase percentage of 12.90%, for the mean/average results of throws in the SSB Joma Putra Sunda Palembang Resistance band training group from the pre-test of 7.49 to the post-test of 8.64 or with a percentage increase of 14.48%. while for the mean/average result of throwing in the SSB Joma Putra Sunda Palembang group from the pre-test of 9.60 to the post-test of 10.75 or with an increase percentage of 9.71%. So that it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between medicine ball throw and resistance bands on the ability to throw into football games in SSB Joma Putra Sunda Palembang students.

Abstract

Learning basketball games is a team game that exists in physical education subjects, basketball games have many basic techniques that students must master. Game variations are a form of various kinds of basketball learning that is fun in various forms of games. The learning process does not all go well, one of the problems that occur during the learning process is either caused by inappropriate learning methods or approaches. The purpose of this study was to determine students' perceptions of game variations on basketball learning outcomes. The population in this study was grade VII students of State Junior High School 1 Lubuklinggau with a sample of 38 students used. Data collection in this study used questionnaires shared through Google forms. Based on the results of the analysis data, it is said that students' perceptions of game variations get a good response, students are happier and more motivated to follow learning if given many game variations. With the perception of (1) Student Interest obtained a score of 81.05% with a very good category, (2) Student Sincerity in basketball learning obtained a score of 83.82% with a very good category, (3) Student needs developed a variety of basketball learning obtained a score of 95.25% with a very good category. Of the total students, they said that they were happy because they were given a variety of games so that the material provided was easy to understand.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the influence of peers on interest in continuing to higher education; (2) parents’ economic influence on interest in continuing to higher education; (3) the influence of peers and the economy of parents together on the interests of class XII students of SMA Negeri 2 Semendawai Barat Continuing to Higher Education. The population in this study were class XII students at SMA Negeri 2 Semendawai Barat for the 2022/2023 academic year. The sample in this study amounted to 83 students with probability sampling technique. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique in this research is prerequisite test and hypothesis test. The results of this study are: (1) The positive and significant influence of peers on the interest of class XII students at SMA Negeri 2 Semendawai Barat to continue higher education for the 2022/2023 academic year. This is indicated by a t-score of 8.255, a regression coefficient of 0.693, and a significance value of 0.000. Based on these conclusions, it can be said that the better the peers, the greater the interest in continuing to higher education. (2) The positive and significant financial impact on parents’ interest in continuing higher education in class XII students of SMA Negeri 2 Semendawai Barat for the 2022/2023 academic year.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how the management of school principals improves the quality of education through the driving school program. This research is a field research qualitative approach method. The researcher describes the activities or behavior of the deceased, both their perceptions and opinions, as well as other aspects that are relevant to the focus of this research. The informants or key informants in this study are school supervisors, principals, teachers, and student opinions. Overall, the role of the school principal is very important in managing the Mobilize Teachers’ College program. Through good planning, effective organization, directed implementation, and careful supervision, school principals can ensure that the program runs successfully and has a positive impact on improving the quality of education in schools. Principal leadership management through the Mobilization School program at SMAN 1 Sirah Pulau Padang includes (1) planning of the Mobilizing School program; (2) organizing the resources for implementing the Mobilization School program; (3) implementation of the driving school program; and (4) supervising the implementation of the driving school program. The obstacles faced are (1) limited resources; (2) lack of support and understanding of the Mobilization School Program; (3) students are less motivated or do not participate actively in the Mobilization School Program; (4) schools need to adapt and ensure that the program remains in accordance with existing requirements; and (5) obstacles in evaluating and monitoring the Mobilization School Program. This research provides a new reference description regarding principal leadership management through the Mobilization School program.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop learning products in the form of mobile learning media development of physical education learning material for volleyball games at the junior high school level in Lubuklinggau motivated by the lack of maximum media development applied to volleyball game material at the junior high school level in Lubuklinggau, so that there needs to be innovation in the use of learning media to create a pleasant learning atmosphere for students when learning physical education, especially volleyball game material. This study aims to determine that the material and learning media for mobile learning physical education material for volleyball games can be applied in junior high schools in Lubuklinggau. This research is research with the development method (R&D), the instruments in this study used questionnaires and interviews. The results of validation by linguists on mobile learning media for physical education of volleyball game material with a percentage of 92.85% including criteria Very Good. The results of validation by material experts on mobile learning media for physical education of volleyball game material with a percentage of 96.42% including criteria Very Good. The results of validation by media experts obtained an overall score with a percentage of 91.25% including the criteria Very Good. The results of small group student responses were obtained with a percentage of 90.5% including the criteria Very Good. While the results of large group responses were obtained with a percentage of 84.44% including the criteria Good.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the development of basic movement learning through traditional games at elementary school level in cluster 3 of Lubuk Batang sub-district. This research was conducted at Gugus 3 Elementary School, Lubuk Batang District. The research used the research and development (R&D) method from Borg and Gall. The research subjects were 30 class V students at Gugus 3 Elementary School, Lubuk Batang District. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, documentation studies, interviews and tests. Data analysis techniques are carried out qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the development results, it can be concluded: (1) Can be used as a reference to improve students’ motor skills; (2) The resulting model has several variations using traditional games; (3) This model will increase children’s interest in participating, because the form of training is packaged in the form of a fun game; (4) Contribute to preserving national culture, especially traditional games; and (5) Contribution to educational science, especially in the field of sports.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an effect of wrist flexibility training using a bottle on the ability to smash in badminton games for extracurricular students at SMK Negeri 2 Palembang. The research method used is the one group pretest-posttest experimental method. The data source for this study were 20 students who took part in badminton extracurricular activities at SMK Negeri 2 Palembang. The data analysis technique uses the t-test formula. The results showed that wrist flexibility exercises using a bottle had an influence on the ability to hit badminton smash on extracurricular students at SMK Negeri 2 Palembang with results showing t-count = 2.638 > t-table = 2.093. So that the exercise of flexing the wrist using a bottle has a significant effect on the ability to smash in a badminton game.
